Chapter 5: Mint

Chapter 5: Mint

The remaining dregs of the human race had rushed back to their homeworld only to see a mess of radiation, craters, and empty buildings. With grief, they made the solar system a memento and locked it to all space travelers. Probes surrounded the solar system in a sphere to monitor everything that entered. They knew they could speed up the process of Mother Nature taking the world back but it needed to be a message to the surrounding galaxy that what had been done wasn't acceptable.

Caleb had finished tearing down all of the buildings and was getting ready to start plowing the landscape. A quick and easy way to do it would be to have vines or roots break down rows, but that would require extremely long amounts of time as roots would eventually be too long and would get in the way of future plants. Vines on the other hand would be faster than roots but the flexibility of vines would require more work to shape them into perfect lines.

He eventually decided to plow them manually, this however would be next to impossible at his current size as they would eventually reform back into normal ground if left alone for too long. Caleb began to grow in size, coming to be around 40 feet (12.1 Meters) tall and about 13 feet (3.9 Meters) wide. He grew long and thick branches near his ankles that he could lower with one thought as he walked. All he would need is a natural pace and a methodical plan.

He began to walk with the branches staying at the same level as he moved them to match his movement so the lines would be at the same depth and thickness. Next, he had smaller branches further out that would stab into the dirt lines with seeds. He started with a mix of bean sprouts, mint, and potatoes in the first area and thought about plants that he could create further on. Once he got past his favorite tasting plants, he'd focus on the main plants grown worldwide and then begin to grow new plants. Plants out of his imagination that make no sense but would be interesting to try to make.

But for now, he was on to rice and watermelon. Growing conditions didn't matter as all he had to do was change them to grow however he wanted them to. Caleb had no need or function to eat, but he still liked to smell and mingle with them. He was creating his favorite crops and would surely enjoy their company. He couldn't wait to begin creating things based on ridiculous ideas or random whims. They would fit right in with the current world.

After going over the information they had come to the conclusion that they were seriously fucked. He had done so many ridiculous things over the small 'vacation' that sifting through to find any of them that were important could take weeks.

Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.

To put it to comparison, most intelligence reports Greta had received were between 10 and 20 megabytes when downloaded. That also usually covered years or sometimes even decades of information. In the month He had been gone for, He had racked up 6 gigabytes of information. And 3 and a half gigabytes of that was text.

To sift through that would take a very long time. And going by the way He had been acting they didn't appear to have that much time.

"I think you're going to have to bite the bullet, Greta. I know you don't like doing it but we're most likely dead if you don't. We know you'll be fine but I, for one, will make sure to try and take you down with me in that case." Said one of the members, a thin male with skin so pale you could almost see right through him.

"Surely you're joking, right? You know that after the last time, I won't hesitate as long as you guys stay alive. I don't want to be alone in this and everyone else already knows that about His habits so they stay away." Greta said while pinching the bridge of her nose. "I'll call Him over now.."

While the others in the room waited, they began to see Greta physically psyche herself up. "What are you doing? It can't be that bad, right? I mean, I think I speak for everyone here, we don't know what you're going to do, but it can't be bad enough for you to need to trick yourself into doing it, right?" Said an extremely tall and wide woman with braids looping around her head like a crown.

Greta stopped what she was doing and hesitated, but eventually began to tell them what was about to happen. "Well, it's not bad, but it's embarrassing to the point where I might die of shame if it gets out. I have to-" At that moment He barrelled in while laughing and hooting. "GRETA!! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU AGREED TO IT HAHAHAHAH!" He said while coming to a stop in front of all of them. "First we have to get good snacks so our friends can watch in peace!"

"Y-you want us to stay?!" Said a short and robust woman with tattoos all over her body, while the others cringed in fear. "Well of course I'd want you guys to stay! How would it be enjoyable if me and Greta did it without an audience? There wouldn't be any proof!" He replied.

Greta had gotten up and fetched snacks He enjoyed while cringing at his tastes. When the others saw what she was carrying they stopped their conversation. "I brought the snacks you like. I don't know if it will suit their tastes, however."

"Well that's fine too, I guess. More for me and we're done heheh. Now that you've gotten the snacks, get the tools so we can have fun!" Greta frowned for a split-second then nodded and walked away to get the tools.

His eyes alight with joy, he said, "We're going to have so much fun, Greta! Hahahahahahah!"
