Warp Journey

First Month

During the first few weeks I pushed for inventory to be taken of what was left in our fleet. Straight away some of the glaring issues were found (not in any particular order):

Food: Feeding the Fleet became a priority as a lot of the hydroponic system were damaged (specially in the Cruisers and the Frigates). We currently have enough food to feed the fleet with the stored food but we will be eating into the reserves and this would be un sustainable in long term. At the current rate we would run out of food in around 2 years.

Ammunitions: A lot of expendable ammunitions were used up. We are running low on these which means we would have a hard time fighting any new engagements. This being Warhammer we are bound to fight sooner than later hence making sure we can do so is a priority.

Space Marines: We are at half the number of a full chapter. At the success rate of just 1 in 100 neophytes becoming space marines we are looking at a long time before we are able to become a full chapter again.

Energy: The plasma reactors will require new fuel although we seem to be blessed that we recently were refuelled so we are good for the foreseeable future unless something goes wrong (which it will I know it will).

Repairs: Although its a bit early looks like we might eventually have to abandon one or more of the Frigates as its barely holding on and the repairs that we can do will be doing further damage to non-critical systems (rob paul to pay peter).

Home base: We will need to find a place to lay low for a longer time frame 2-5 years to repair and re-stock. Then eventually we will have to come up with plans to replenish bodies and material also.

Propaganda: Mostly my idea of pushing out propaganda to the whole Fleet to make sure we let them know we are still the good guys. Hoping this will stop any unwanted chaos focus.

After getting the above list and thinking about using my power "research slot" I am not able to do much in grand scheme of things as we currently do not have the material/ability to carry out massive changes/reforms. I have decided to start of small with researching the power armour. The idea that I am thinking about is to massively uplift the Chapter serfs. Get them access to cheap exo skeleton that way the productivity can go up. Of course due to us being in warp I will mostly work on a prototype and then go from there.

One of the main things that I have been feeling out/pushing for is reforms regarding research/innovations and sharing knowledge with the Chapter Serfs. I have floated the idea and hopefully will push for this in the coming months.

After discussion for now the Priority is repairing the ships and re-stocking of ammunitions. Having a lot of Techmarine is a blessing in this case as now I have deployed most of the Space marines to help out with these two tasks.

Second Month

Ammunitions: So we have manged to re-stock some of the ship ammunition but due to missing some core components we are not able to progress any more. Currently we are at around 50-60 percent on the ship ammunitions reserves. Enough to fight a short skirmish but not enough for a main fight.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Repairs: Most of the critical repairs have been carried out. Although it was touch and go on one of the frigates. We will have to abandon it when we come out of the warp though as it is to unstable and structurally compromised.

Research: I have had massive progress in the exo skeleton and have got a blue print for a prototype that is unpowered exo skeleton. I have shared the idea with fellow Techmarines and they all have taken in a positive light. Some of you may be wondering why I am not dictating changes as a chapter master rather than going softly softly. Since I am not a Primarch that means even though I am a Chapter Master I am still a Space marine and if I push too hard there will be a vote of no confidence in which case most likely I will be dead. So softly softly it is.

I have been scanning/reading up on the Hydroponics as I am getting tired of eating nutrient paste. Who knew that the Hydroponics system was so complicated. The system that the fleets uses is a Tanks filled with algae in nutrient rich solution. The algae is then scooped up/ filtered and turned into the nutrients paste. Very basic yet very Complicated as the system must work in warp.

Third Month

Ammunitions: We are at 80% reserves with much lower levels for the ones missing critical components. Not more can be done as we have gone through our reserves, we will have to wait till we restock.

Repairs: Same situation as the Ammunitions in the sense we are unable to carry out any more repairs as we have used up the stocks we had.

Research: The exo Skeleton was a hit. A much needed distractions and no tech heresy (per se). We managed to create 100 samples that have been given out to Chapter Serfs (the Navy and armsmen) so that they can be used and provide feedback to us. I have not researched the Hydroponics as it is still scanning the dam device. It has taken 2 months of scanning and it is nearly completed. For now I and the TecMarines have been researching on how to mine for resources as we do not have the numbers of bodies that would be required to mine using the IOM (Imperium of Man) method of throwing enough bodies at it. The Battle barge does have manufacturing capabilities, so with enough material provided to it we can have snowball effect. We are working on a semi automatic mining device, which is usable in space and multiple vessels can be overseen by one Chapter Serf. We do not have access to any blueprints that Adeptus Mechanicus has of any similar vessels so we have had to get creative. Currently I have taken inspiration from octopus, 3 appendages that are able to wrap around objects with each appendage having a laser mine at the tip. There will be a a small rocket for propulsion attached at the base. Five mining octopus will be networked to one controller. Currently we are finalising the blue print before we can start producing some samples for testing purpose.

Propaganda: This has been done well, so far we have not heard much grumbling. Everyone/Most of the Serfs are aware wea re Renegade but are still fighting for the Emperor. Further discussions have been ongoing with the Navigators, new deals are in the pipeline with some hope of getting support from some of the Navigator houses to expand the fleet int he future. Ofcourse all these deals would be all hush hush with deniable assets for the Navigators.

Fourth Month

Looks like some good news, we are making good time so we are expecting to reach our destination next month rather than another two months. Most of the times are being spent on drills and finalising the mining octopuses. As this is a new device we have had to carry out training. At this rate by end of next month we should have had at least 10,000 Serfs trained to use the controllers. We are limited by resources we have so that will have to do for now.

Fifth Month

We are nearing the end of the journey. Much has been accomplished and plans laid out.

One of the reforms that I have managed to push out is educating every one in the fleet more on Tech. This is being carried out with the Artificer being given further access to more Tech knowledge and then they passing it onto the rest of the fleet.

Further battle preparations are being carried out as we get nearer to our goal. Hopefully it will still be a dead system where we can rest and recover.
