The door swings open as Koko lets you into the apartment. Well, it’s not only Koko and Irie’s apartment but also yours since you will be staying there with them. The petite cat girl grins as she watches you enter into said apartment, your shoes pressing down into the place’s lush, red carpet.
You find yourself in your new home’s living room. You glance around the cozy looking room, your blue twin tails swaying. Your pink eyes come to a gray sofa positioned in front of a nicely-sized television set. After cutely cocking your head to the side, you decide to try the large sofa out and walk to its front before plopping down. The rather comfy cushioning bounces beneath you, and you lean back.
As your eyes go to the television, which is currently switched off, the sound of the door shutting comes to your ears, Irie having closed it after entering herself. You blink (once and then again), a look of curiosity in your pink eyes. Connected to the television set and sitting in the entertainment center is something that looks quite familiar to you. Sure, you don’t recognize the specific type, but it does look like something you are quite familiar with. You have trouble believing that that is what it actually is though. What are the chances that the dungeon has gaming? Well, it clearly has television, so maybe it does have gaming.
Koko turns towards where you are looking and stiffens up, her cat ears twitching. She turns back to you, a manic look on her face. “Want to play a game?!” she exclaims, an enthusiastic edge to her voice.
“Sure,” you respond with a smile. “I can’t believe there are video games in the dungeon.”
“Of course there are video games.” She scurries to the entertainment center and starts rustling through her game collection. “What about this one? ‘Warzone Waifu 2’ OK with you?” The enthusiastic cat girl frantically waved the game’s case around as she spoke.
“Sure. That’s fine.” You don’t quite know what exactly ‘Warzone Waifu 2’ is but figure you could learn about it as you go.
“Great. Great.” She fumbles with the case, extracting the game’s disk from it. Guess the gaming console plays disks. After placing the disk into the console, she happily turns to you and shoves a wired controller into your hands. The game’s title displays across the television’s screen as Koko grabs the other wired controller and takes a seat next to you.
“Let’s start with making you a character and picking a username for you.”
“Username? Is this an MMO?” You cock an eyebrow in disbelief. Video games are one thing, but does this mean the dungeon has internet?
“Yup. So you’ll need a username for this. Character creation first though.”
“I see.” You select ‘Create New Character’, and the ‘character creation’ dialog starts up. With a smile, you set yourself to creating the perfect character. Needless to say, you spend way too long trying to do that.
“Just finish already. I want to play,” Koko complains, slouching forward.
“Just give me a bit longer. I almost got it.”
The petite cat girl sits up straight and blinks. “Why don’t we make this a bit more interesting? Be right back.” She scampers off as you continue to tweak your character’s appearance. You make another tweak as you hear her re-enter. “Look out! Freak wave!”
You don’t have time to react. One moment, you are minding your own business, tweaking your character. The next, you suddenly have a face full of water. You spit out a mouthful of said water and turn to the offending cat girl who’s standing nearby with a now empty bucket in hand.
“Why did you just throw a bucket’s worth of water at me?”
“Just trying to liven this up a bit.”

Well, at least the water to the face wasn’t for nothing. Somehow, it had managed to level up your [Soul]. Sighing, you turn your attention back to the ‘character creation’ dialog as your friend returns to her seat beside you.
“And done,” you comment as you complete your final character tweak. You proceed to select ‘Next’ and are taken to the ‘username selection’ dialog. “Now I need to pick a username. Any ideas?”
“OppaiWaifu.”
“No,” you veto. “Any other ideas?”
“PinkEye.”
“No,” you veto again. “I’ll just pick something myself. Maybe TwinTails.” You enter TwinTails into the ‘user input’ box. As luck would have it, that username is available. You click through the confirmation dialog and complete the ‘username selection’ process.
Koko smiles and takes control. A moment later, she has switched the game to ‘split screen’ mode, your half of the screen on the left, her half on the right. She selects her character (username KoolKat) and starts the ‘log in’ process. You select your character and do the same.
“Those twin tails are cute on your avatar,” Koko comments, her green eyes going to your character. “I like them.”
“Thanks.” You take a moment to look over her character’s appearance. “Your avatar is, uh, quite busty.”
“Don’t judge me,” she deadpans before perking up. “Hey! Look! Another player. Let’s do some PVP.” Her character cocks her gun and runs off.
“D-Don’t just leave me. I don’t even know the controls yet.”
The message shows on her half of the screen. “And I’m dead.” Her head droops down in dismay.
“So am I.” You stare at the message on your half of the screen, control held loosely in your hands. “Somehow, I didn’t even really get a chance to learn the controls.”
“Are you guys winning?” Irie interrupts, leaning over the back of the couch. She looks from you two to the television, a slight smirk on the elven woman’s face.
Ever so slowly, Koko turns back to look at the elf, her cat ears twitching. “We’re dead. Send help.”
