Akira Suzuki undergoes a transition to another world.

Akira Suzuki undergoes a transition to another world.

My name is Akira Suzuki. I am a third-year middle school student attending an ordinary public school. My family could be described as a musical one; my father is a composer, and my mother is a jazz pianist. It seems my sister is studying opera at a music college.

As for me, I was also in the brass band club, mainly playing the alto saxophone, but I retired after earning a disappointing result at the prefectural competition. Now, I am solely focused on studying for my entrance exams. My musical skills are decent; I have enough confidence to be a guest in a friend's amateur jazz band.

However, being musically inclined does not make me popular with girls. Frankly, I'm quite unimpressive and lack the charm to woo them. In the future, unlike my parents who make a living through music, this country is not so forgiving. I'll probably end up as an ordinary salaryman, perhaps a salesperson, a system engineer, or an accountant, and fade into society.

That's why I've decided not to pursue prestigious music schools or band-focused institutions but to apply to an ordinary private high school with a strong emphasis on math and science.

One summer afternoon, as I was walking home from the library along the riverbank, the area suddenly darkened. Was it a sudden summer shower? I looked up, but it seemed different. Sparks were scattering around what looked like a black hole.

Stolen story; please report.

A fierce wind blew all around. Folding umbrellas and trash cans were sucked into the hole. I slipped on the wet ground. Yes, my body was being sucked into the hole too.

(Someone!... Help!)

I tried to shout, but the wind muffled my voice. Soon, my body was whirling in the air and sucked into the hole. I was thrown into a space where I couldn't tell up from down, left from right, like being in zero gravity, and I lost consciousness.

"Um... Are you okay? Um..."

When I opened my eyes, a high school girl with bronze hair was peering down at me. Her outfit looked like that of a village girl from a fantasy game. I sat up and looked around; plants unlike any I had ever seen were growing. Science was a decent subject for me, and I used to read plant encyclopedias as a child, but these plants resembled none I knew.

"Where is this... Who are you?"

"This is the forest on the outskirts of Amina village. I'm Nasha. Good, you were unconscious."

Nasha looked around and sighed in relief.

"It seems there are no bandits around today, which is lucky. Can you use magic?"

"Magic?"

"As a charm, I'll give you a spell book."

She handed me a piece of paper. Expecting unfamiliar characters, I was surprised when I read the contents.

"Is this... a music score!?"
