Chapter 26 : Some Secrets Revealed

Chapter 26 : Some Secrets Revealed

Sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. Vedik stirred, his eyelids fluttering open. He felt a dull ache in his body, which reminded him of the recent ordeal but a sense of peace washed over him as he remembered that both he and his family are safe. Vedik sat up slowly, a yawn escaping his lips.

A smile spread across his face as he caught the sight of a tray laden with delicious food – fresh fruit, fluffy pancakes drizzled with honey, and a steaming cup of herbal tea. His stomach growled in anticipation.

He reached for the tea, taking a sip of the warm, soothing liquid. As he savored the taste, the door creaked open and Jasmin entered, her face etched with concern.

"Good morning, my son," she greeted softly. "How are you feeling today?"

Vedik took another bite of a pancake, his grin widening. "Much better, thank you, Mother. The potion you brew works wonders."

Jasmin sat down across from him, a flicker of worry lingering in her eyes. "Good. We need you back on your feet as soon as possible."

"Speaking of getting back on my feet," Vedik began, a serious note creeping into his voice. "Grandfather Edgar mentioned we'd be leaving soon?"

A slight frown marred Jasmin's features. "Yes, Vedik. It's no longer safe to stay here. Thalnos could return, or worse, someone else might come looking for you."

"But where will we go?" Vedik asked, a hint of apprehension in his voice.

"We will be heading to Verna territory," William announced, entering the room with a plate of steaming breakfast in his hand. He sat down beside Jasmin and reached for a piece of fruit.

Vedik's eyes widened in surprise. "Verna territory? But… isn't that one of the five great noble families' territory? Won't it be incredibly expensive to live there?"

A heavy silence descended upon the room. William and Jasmin exchanged a hesitant glance.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

Edgar, who had been observing the scene from the corner, chuckled softly. "Ah, Young Master Vedik," he said, his voice warm with amusement. "It seems you have yet to discover the secret identities of your parents."

Both William and Jasmin flushed slightly. "The topic never came up," William mumbled, avoiding Vedik's gaze.

"What secret identities?" Vedik asked, his curiosity piqued.

Edgar placed his cup of tea down with a gentle clack. "Young Master William," he began, a hint of pride in his voice, "belongs to the Verna family."

Vedik stared at his father, his face a mask of disbelief. "Dad… part of the Verna family?"

"Indeed," Edgar confirmed, a smile playing on his lips. "And your mother, Miss Jasmin," he continued, turning to her, "is the disciple of the humanities strongest sorcerer."

Vedik's jaw dropped open as he looked back and forth between his parents. "Strongest sorcerer's disciple? Mom?"

Jasmin let out a sigh. "We never hid that fact, Vedik," she explained. "It just… never mattered."

Vedik's gaze darted between his parents again, a hundred questions swirling in his mind. Before he could voice any, however, Jasmin rose from the table.

"I need to go and check on the potion I'm brewing," she announced, her voice laced with a hint of nervousness. "William, would you like to help?"

William, thanked Jasmin in his mind for getting him out of this situation.

He jumped to his feet. "Of course, my love. Let's go."

With that, they both exited the room, leaving Vedik alone with Edgar.

Edgar chuckled at the scene, a twinkle in his eye. "Seems like they didn't wanted to tell you there identities ," he said with a smirk.

Vedik took a deep breath but couldn't calmdown. He started at Edgar and started asking many questions at once.

Edgar held up a hand, silencing the barrage of questions. "Slow down, young man," he said gently. "There's much to explain, but first, finish your breakfast and rest. You still need time to recover."

Vedik grumbled in protest, but he understood the logic. He finished his meal in a daze, his mind still reeling from the revelations.

Seeing Vedik settle back against the pillows, Edgar chuckled . Vedik said "please hurry up and tell me about mom and dad's past , grandfather Edgar ."

Edgar with a smile on his face will explain that William was called hero of humanity as he defeated many demons , monsters and protected human continent .

Young Master William was renowned as the most talented warrior of all time as he was the youngest person to reach golden qi stage.

He was very prideful in his prime days . But, one day he was attacked by many demons and monsters while he was alone and was saved by your mother Miss Jasmin.

But your dad instead of thanking her , invited Miss Jasmin to a duel and was defeated. From then on Young Master William and Miss Jasmin became companions and later got married.

Miss Jasmin was a renowned prodigy who was the only disciple of the strongest sorcerer. I still remember how she was even more prideful than young master William.

Vedik laughed for a moment after listening, then asked I remember Thalnos calling dad , William Ravenshadow what does it mean ?

Edgar face darkened as he said telling you about that subject is not my place , you can only ask your dad about it.

Vedik will reply 'I understand' and then ask another question, "but why were dad and mom separated , I mean dad literally begged mom to forgive him."

Edgar will reply "this is due to the past events and that is enough questions young man now get some rest ."

Vedik wanted to ask more but he knew someday he would get the answers from his mom and dad .

So he didn't push it . He thanked Edgar then drank his potion brewed by Jasmin and slept.
