Sunshine, filtered through the window, falling on Vedik's eyelids. He stirred, a groan escaping his lips as a dull ache throbbed throughout his body. Disoriented, he tried to sit up, only to be met with a gentle hand pressing him back down.
"Easy there, Vedik," a familiar voice whispered. He turned his head to see Jasmin, his mother whose usually bright eyes looked heavy with exhaustion. She looked exhausted and tired, sleep clinging to the corners of her eyes.
"Mom?" His voice rasped, dry and unused.
Jasmin's eyes widened. "William!" she called out, her voice tinged with relief.
A rustle from the corner of the room revealed William, his face etched with worry as he lumbered towards the bed. "Vedik? You're awake!" Relief washed over his features, the tension draining from his shoulders.
"How are you feeling, son?" William asked, his voice thick with concern.
Vedik frowned, trying to assess himself. "I… I feel alright, I guess. What happened?"
Jasmin's composure crumbled. A choked sob escaped her lips as she reached out and pulled him into a fierce hug. "Oh Vedik," she choked out, "you've been out for a week!"
Vedik's eyes widened in shock. A week? It felt like mere moments since he'd collapsed. Seeing the worry etched on his parents' faces, a wave of guilt washed over him. "I'm so sorry," he mumbled, his voice filled with guilt.
Jasmin released him, wiping away a stray tear. "Don't be silly," she said, "You fought bravely. We're just glad you're alright."
William stepped forward, ruffling Vedik's hair gently. Their smiles, however, didn't quite reach their eyes. They exchanged a worried glance before William spoke.
"Vedik," he began hesitantly, "your injuries… they were quite severe. Your mana veins and qi points are heavily damaged from the extensive use of mana."
A cold dread settled in Vedik's stomach. He closed his eyes, focusing inwards, searching for the familiar hum of mana within him. But there was nothing. Just a chilling emptiness. Panic clawed at his throat, and tears welled up in his eyes.
William, sensing his son's despair, placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, Vedik," he said reassuringly. "Your mother is a skilled potion maker. When you fainted, she used a powerful potion to stabilize your condition."
Just then, Jasmin reappeared, holding a small vial filled with a glowing blue liquid. Suddenly, a tab shimmered into existence above it, revealing its properties.
Name: Recovery Potion
Grade: Legendary
Description: This potion is made of very rare items in the correct ratio, drinking it recovers your body state and replenish mana.
Seeing the transparent tab above the potion, Vedik understood. This ability must be related to the Godhood system .

Taking a deep breath, he wiped his tears and forced a smile. "Thank you, Mom," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "This looks very expensive."
Jasmin chuckled, her eyes twinkling. "Don't you worry about that, my love," she said, gently feeding him the potion. "Let's get you back on your feet."
As Vedik drank the potion, a warm wave of energy spread through his body, easing the aches and pains. He felt a sliver of his strength returning.
The door creaked open, and Edgar entered, carrying a tray laden with steaming bowls. "Ah, Vedik is awake," he said with a warm smile. "Excellent timing. Breakfast is served."
Then the four of them settled around a small table in the room. Vedik while eating stole glances at Edgar, taking in his handsome features – black hair flecked with grey, a tall and imposing physique, and an air of quiet confidence that spoke of years of experience.
William, noticing his son's gaze, cleared his throat. "Vedik," he began, "this is Edgar. He was my caretaker, master, and teacher for many years. You can call him… Grandfather Edgar."
Vedik felt a surge of gratitude towards this enigmatic man who had played such a important role in his father's life and saved them from Thalnos.
Vedik dipped his head in respect. "Thank you for saving us, Grandfather Edgar," he said sincerely.
A smile played on Edgar's lips. "We all played our part, young one," he replied, his voice warm and reassuring. "You have done good work . Now, finish your breakfast and get some rest. You have a long road to recovery ahead."
Vedik will thank Edgar and then lay on his bed . He will see Jasmin , William and Edgar faces covered with exhaustion and understand that they have been taking care of him for a week without proper sleep.
A pang of guilt stabbed at him. "You three please take some rest," he pleaded, his voice weak. "I'm okay now. Don't make me feel bad."
Jasmin, the doting mother, insisted on checking his vitals once again before finally relenting. With a gentle kiss on his forehead, she ushered William and Edgar out of the room.
Silence descended upon the room, broken only by Vedik's shallow breaths. He closed his eyes, and called out for Godhood system.
