“Aw c'mon, I'm just borrowing them, you can have them when I'm dead ze~”

“THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS YOU IMBECILE!” the purple mage is fuming as Marisa smiles and laughs

Utsuho gets the feeling she should sneak away while she can… so she does… but

“oof!” She trips

The purple mage turns to her “Anyway, my name is Patchouli Knowledge, the librarian of the Scarlet Devil Mansion.”

Utsuho stands up and accidentally smacks her head with her third leg doing her little salute

“I'm Utsuho Reiuji! And Meiling said to look for a… Patrick?”

Patchouli stares at her “... Patrick?”

“Mhm! The red haired lady told me to look for a “Patrick””

“Red haired lady… ah, you must mean Meiling”

Utsuho rapidly nods “mhm mhm mhm! Meiling told me”

Patchouli sighed “I don't suppose when you say Patrick you mean me Patchouli? As in me?”

“Uhm… maybe? Probably… you look real smart.”

“Anyway, I suspect the reason she sent you to me is the ludicrous amount of energy coming from you… almost annoying how much you're exuding” Patchouli says with a mildly annoyed face

Utsuho tilts her head “whatcha mean by ‘Ludicrous’ amounts?”

“I mean simply that, the amount of energy you have is utterly astounding more than I certainly do… though I suspect you can't control it, at least not well.”

Marisa seems to have escaped while Patchouli was distracted…

Patchouli sighs as she notices Marisa ran “well anyway… follow me” she floats in a direction deeper into the library as Utsuho follows, looking around making surprised noises at everything despite it just being books and more books.

They finally reach a steel bunker door, one of the ones with a valve to open it

“This is our ‘Testing room’, basically it's just Remilia’s and her little sisters play room…” Patchouli explains as she magic’s the door open

Patchouli tells her to go into the room as Patchouli goes into a different, much smaller room with glass separating them, probably an observation room or something. She speaks in the intercom to Utsuho

“Utsuho, there will be several targets that pop up. I want you to do your best to destroy them… if you do well i'll give you… uhm… candy or something”

Utsuho rapidly nods as she once again does a salute and once again smacks her head with her third leg

(HER ARM CANNON GET YA MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER, IT'S ACTUALLY CALLED HER THIRD LEG, LOOK IT UP… I think)

“I'll do my best ma'am!” Patchouli presses a few buttons as metallic animals and other beast, some humanoid other just animals

Utsuho starts blasting, mostly running around and blindly firing without much tact or strategy, but with this much power do you need strategy?

Patchouli is… not surprised at the readings she's getting from this test, it's about what she could expect from sensing what Utsuho was already radiating

“What if I try this?” Patchouli mutters as she presses a big red button

“What's happening?” Utsuho says as the room starts flashing red and the wall opens up

“This, Utsuho, is the final boss of sorts. Do this and you get your candy” hearing this Utsuho gets a determined look

“Ok! I got it-!” She immediately gets grabbed at the hulking metallic beast, some kind of mutated gorilla cyborg

“I don't got it!” She squeaks out before getting slammed against the wall and then thrown

Tears prick at the corner of her eyes “i-it hurts… it hurts a lot! B-but I want candy… but it hurts!”

Before she can get herself together the gorilla is already on top of her attempting to grab her

“NO! LEAVE ME ALONE!” she panics and blindly fires her arm cannon at max output she can as fast as she can… but it fails

She's grabbed again, Patchouli sighs disappointedly as she goes to deactivate it, before she sees the energy readings spiking dramatically “what the?”

Utsuho full blown crying as she's being crushed “G-GO AWAY~! GO AWAY! I HATE YOU!”

Patchouli is shocked as the energy readings literally break right and Utsuho glows a bright yellow before she hears…

ABYSS NOVA!

Then Utsuho just fucking explodes in a sun of raw unfiltered and uncontrolled nuclear energy

“What… the… fuck… was that?! That's way more energy than I sensed before… did she not have access to it before?”

Utsuho’s eyes roll into the back of her head as she passed out on the ground, now that the danger is atomized

Patchouli sighs “now… where do we have candy?”
