So, it's been a while since I updated. It's a typical "failed NaNo" story- the pace I set was too fast, I burned myself out, and my complete lack of preparation or outlining or anything like that set me up for failure once things had to actually start happening.
Also, both my mother and one of my sisters had to get surgery, and I was stuck at my sister's house for a week watching her dog, because he couldn't be trusted not to poop on the rug at my house. You know how it is with old dogs who were never terribly well-trained in the first place.
But, time passes and life goes on. And I don't want to abandon Unprotected Sects entirely. So what I'm doing, now that things have calmed down, is writing a proper outline for Unprotected Sects, getting my ducks in a row, and then resuming writing once I've gotten that. It'll probably still be around 50,000 words total, because I tend to write things pretty short, and I'll probably have to take some chapters down before I can start posting new ones. But I'm not going to do that until after I have something new to replace them with.
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
Unprotected Sects is also going to have to compete for my attention with other stories I'm writing, which I'd put on the backburners for November, and which are coming back off now that November is all but over and I've unquestionably failed NaNoWriMo.
So, when can you expect more Unprotected Sects?
Iunno. Hopefully before the end of the year, but I'm not willing to commit to that.
