Julie (1)

After the first match Julie couldn't fight and the others didn't honestly feel like it either after being utterly crushed by the girl. They already knew where their strengths lied, or they trusted Jien enough to help them figure it out. He appeared to be a capable leader on the battlefield, having used varying plans to delay Julie from taking out their entire group in one swoop and ultimately wearing her down until the victory fell into his hands.

They assisted Julie with moving to the side of the arena so that others could use it, having determined that they wouldn't use any of the other nineteen opportunities. Julie could only begrudgingly accept the assistance since she was having trouble even shuffling forward. Andrew had tried a number of spells to try and heal her, but none of them but a spell that worked as a slight muscle relaxant appeared to do anything.

It was after they had moved to the outer wall by the training fields that they finally settled for the time being, resting Julie against the wall so she could sit upright with minimal effort before sitting in circle with her. Everyone drank from their waterskins, enjoying the feeling of being in the truest shade of the wall and being able to rest. The fight had not been long, only about twenty minutes due to the tactics that Jien used to draw it out and wear down Julie. That however did not detract from its intensity.

Julie had kept them on their toes from the very first move, not allowing them to rest for even a moment. By the time they had been laid out by the girl their nerves had been fried and their reactions just a touch slow, and yet Jien had somehow remained as calm as ever throughout. Only the other noble heirs knew that this was far from the truth, it was just that Jien was excellent at masking his thoughts and emotions.

Now that they were settled it was time to settle the elephant in the room. The ferocious girl leaning against the cool stone of the wall was the only one of their group that didn't quite fit in. They needed to get to the bottom of it and help her work with them, and soon. They had a week to become at least a coherent unit in the most basic sense. If they couldn't manage that then they would be starting on the back foot while everyone else would accelerate forward. At the very least the noble heirs couldn't allow that.

All the others glanced at Jien, deferring to him as the once again nominated leader. He sighed internally, silently questioning why someone else couldn't take up the role so he could just relax with his studies. That being said there was one other potential leader and she was sitting right across the circle from him. He simply had to find a way to work with her and get her to acclimate to the others in the unit.

He shifted his gaze around the circle before putting his attention back on Julie who seemed to be partially lost in thought. Despite this, when Jien's gaze landed on her she met his with one of her own, a determination burning in the depths of her eyes. It seemed that she had resolved something but what it was Jien couldn't tell.

"We had short introductions before the match, but I feel like this is a much better forum so lets have a repeat. I will go first." He stated this calmly before restarting his introduction, though going more in depths regarding his varying skills, weapons of choice and the roles that he could act in within their unit at any time.

His explanation was met with steady gazes from those that knew him from the past, with looks of admiration by all but one of the others. Julie simply had a look of confusion on her face. So much had flown over her head in his introduction that she had no idea what to make of him at all other than he used a rapier and dagger, knew several survival skills and was the son of a noble.

The look of confusion was so obvious on her face that it caught everyone's attention. It was Jien who made her aware that she was showing that confusion on her face. "Which piece do you need to know more about?" His question was casual and calm, as if he were a lecturer making sure that his listener would be able to follow the question.

The answer however made him question which rock the girl had come from under. "All of it. I don't know about anything you are talking about other than your weapons and the fact that you are a noble."
