Attention

It was a number of long minutes after the potion had been sprayed up Jien's nose before Andrew was finished using his healing spells, sweat covering his brows from the effort and use of mana. Once finally finished with his healing duties he took a handkerchief from the inner pocket of his coat and wiped the sweat from his brow, letting out a long sig before standing up again. Jien, carefully stood up, cleaning his face from the blood and remains of the potion that had leaked out. The whole time he had remained silent and let Andrew do what he needed to after being forced to stay still for the healing process.

After he stood up, he dusted himself off rather casually before turning to Andrew and thanking him for his efforts. After that he turned to Julie, who had been watching calmly from the side the entire time, with a slight smile on his lips. "Congratulations, I believe nobody will complain about the plan for you to lead the second team." His statement was simple and calm but the looks on the other's faces were a blend of different expressions. Some were confused, this included the newest members, Andrew, Alys and Robyn. The remainder either had casual expressions or showed slight hints of curiosity but didn't bring up the question on their minds here, figuring Jien would tell them when the time was right. The new trio kept their confusion to themselves as well, following the lead of the others while Julie gave Jien a slight scowl before nodding. "I will accept, even though I feel like if we faced off again things wouldn't turn out the same way.

"Good, though I still suggest we rotate positions because being a leader doesn't mean that you won't need to be in charge of other roles depending on the scenario." Jien's statement brought all their attention back to the training at hand. The end of the previous match had been so abrupt that they had almost forgotten their purpose here in the first place. Almost everyone gave a heavy sigh besides Barret and Julie. Most of them were used to Jien being tough on everyone in terms of training, trying to hold them to his own standards for himself. Julie only flashed a vicious grin at the statement, seemingly ready to start the next moment.

Ultimately, they did return to their training as requested by Jien. The composition of the teams switched up with each mock battle but both Jien and Julie seemed to take a lighter approach to the following matches, seemingly agreeing implicitly not that it would be a risk of injury that Jien was looking to avoid. There would be many a chance for them to truly test each other but as it stood if the two continued to go full boar, they were more likely to cause a disruption for the other members or end the training prematurely due to injury.

By the end of the half day everyone was panting due to exhaustion. The heat from the southern climate and the dry air left them all sweating profusely. Jien, Julie, Barret and Rosalind all sat calmly, drinking large gulps of water from their canteens while the others were all laid in the sand, sprawled out as if they had been struck by a hurricane.

The training sessions had been harsher than even Jien's friends were used to. The dry heat of their current location didn't help in the least. Unlike the cold, damp Warping Forest this colosseum for lack of better description was open to the blazing afternoon sun. After several more minutes Jien stood once more, dusting himself off once more before moving from one member to the other, distributing canteens to those who were still resting so that they could rehydrate.

It was only after they were all sitting up, looking more rested that they truly observed their surroundings again. They had kept a loose eye on what was happening around them at first but after they got deeper into their matches their concentration had firmly been on facing each other with utmost seriousness to make the best of the training time. This left them surprised when they took a look around the other three sections around them to notice that everyone was looking at them. Some had wide eyes full of curiosity, some smirks and others seemed to look nervous when attention was turned to them, but there was an obvious interest in their group in particular.

What they weren't aware of due to being absorbed in their own fights was that from the end of the first match each of the three groups had only been practicing lightly, mostly watching the curious training exercise that was going on. Most of the time these three other units were training had been spent working basic military drills to work on making their movements more uniform, none of them would have even considered jumping straight into practicing the different roles, let alone splitting the unit down the center into two teams. This team was so odd that they couldn't help but almost forget their own training to watch.
