Here we are again lost somewhere unknown. Only this time I wasn't alone with a puppy when I woke up.
First off, Dudley was nowhere to be seen, but more importantly was the fact I appeared to be surrounded by fellow human beings. The truly weird part of all of this is the fact no one even batted an eye that I had just appeared out of nowhere. Not a single word was spoken, or action was taken. It was as if everyone present couldn't even see me. Me, being the all so intelligent person that I am, of course spent the next few minutes running around and making as much noise as possible to no effect at all.
Either these people are deaf and blind, or they really don't notice my existence at all. I, of course, proceed to poke one of them. At this point, I'm more annoyed and tired of this situation than freaked out at what is happening, so poking people to see their reaction isn't all that bad. Unless, of course, it leads to the conclusion I don't exist for them. Being stuck in this place by myself, only to find out the only human beings I've seen so far can't see or hear me would be a kick in the balls I don't think I could overcome.
You see, I've secretly been hoping to find someone else to talk with just to see if I'm crazy or not because, let's face it, this whole bullshit journey sounds like nothing but a bad dream, or the love child of a crazy person using too many drugs. It's hard to accept what seems impossible even when it's looking you in the face, but there comes a time when you are forced to believe it, whether or not you want to. Surprise, surprise, surprise. As you should know by Murphy's Law, anything that can go wrong will, and as you can tell by my reaction my poke didn't go well.
Here I am surrounded by people but unable to communicate with them in any way whatsoever. Admittedly, I'm not much of a people person. However, having another person around to talk with would be great at a time like this. Ignoring my inability to communicate with these humans for a moment, I really should take the time to try and figure out why a group of people are huddled around a cactus field while looking like a homeless village. I understand something bad has happened, but what in the hell are these people doing here?
I could think of a million other places to be when the world goes to shit instead of at a seemingly random field with very little to their names. Looking around, that wasn't the only weird thing about this situation. As if being dropped from the sky to my death, waking up surrounded by people who can't see me, and seeing people out in the middle of nowhere in a terrible location wasn't enough, to make matters worse it was getting dark and the people were starting to get very nervous and twitchy. It was as if they were expecting something bad to happen.

Now I'm asking myself, “what in the hell do they have to worry about,” only to come to the realization that it could literally be anything. At this point, I have no idea what has happened on Earth, and need to figure out what is going on in a hurry, because while the humans can't interact with me, it sure as hell seems like other things here can. It's a pretty safe assumption that if these people are scared, then I should at the very least be worried myself.
I’m wondering if they are just scared of the dark because of animals coming out, but that really doesn't make any sense between the largeish group of people and the fact people had started to light some fires. I really shouldn't have to explain why a group of people and fire scares off animals, but you know it does. Welp, that really doesn't make me feel any better, you know, with the fact that the only reason I can think of for why these people might be scared makes zero sense. I don't know how long I spent trying to think about what might be causing these people to act the way they are. Apparently, it was long enough that whatever they feared was about to happen or approach was now here. I have never seen a group of people so scared before in person as these people were right now.
From my perspective, everything looked exactly the same with no changes to be seen. No sudden storm was on the horizon, or monster to be seen or heard. No explosion off in the distance slowly closing in, no random acts of people just killing themselves or others. Nothing and I mean nothing seemed out of the ordinary compared to what was going on before. Yet here these people were acting as if they were losing their god damned minds, and for the life of me I couldn't tell why.
Then I hear something but can't quite make out the sound between all of the people gathered around, and the fact I had no clue as to how far away the noise was actually coming from. That was the last straw for this group apparently because they wasted no time grabbing everything they could as fast as possible and proceeding to run the fuck away. This was made all the more confusing by the darkness of the environment and how hard it was to see anything. That didn't seem to stop or even hinder how fast these people were packing up and high tailing it away.
While this was happening, the noise was slowly coming closer. It was becoming easier and easier to understand what the noise was, and to my surprise, it was just a voice. A single human voice. I'm ready to freak out at this point because no normal person would cause people to react this way. As if to prove to me I couldn't be any bigger of an idiot, out of the darkness walks the most normal-looking person you could ever imagine.
