Chapter 10: Cooking!

Chapter 10: Cooking!

Opening my eyes the next morning, I rubbed them with the back of my right hand before loudly yawning out. It’s morning… I will eat something first and then I will leave. I rose up from the bed, left the room and made my way to the kitchen.

Walking into the kitchen, I looked it over. There were milk, cheese, eggs, ham, bread, butter and a knife, all enveloped in golden glows. I walked up to the knife and touched it. A loot window opened.

I looted the knife. Then, I looted the ham and after that, the milk, the cheese, the eggs, the bread and the butter.

I walked up to the table, opened the menu and from it my inventory. I equipped the knife and placed the bread, the butter, the cheese and the ham on the table in front of me.

I first cut the bread, then the ham and finally the cheese. I applied the butter onto the bread and a notification message flashed in front of me.

Food buffs? Good. Not only my hunger will be alleviated, but my attributes will be increased as well. I applied the butter onto the remaining slices of bread. Then, I put the slice of ham on the first butter sandwich and a notification message flashed in front of me.

I put the remaining slices of ham onto the remaining butter sandwiches. Then, I put the slice of cheese onto the ham sandwich and a notification message flashed in front of me.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

I put the remaining slices of cheese onto the remaining ham sandwiches. Then, I stored all sandwiches but one, the ham, the cheese and the butter back into my inventory and equipped my two weapons.

I ate the last remaining sandwich and a notification message flashed in front of me.

Alright. Now then, where is the closest city. I opened the menu and from it, I opened the map. I saw where I was and where I had been so far, but everything else was in a fog of war. I wonder if there is some kind of a map in this house.

Closing the map and the menu, I began to search the house one room at a time. I started with the kitchen and here I found a few spices, a flintstone, some steel and more knives. Storing the spices, flintstone and steel into my inventory, I continued onto the next room.

The next room was the room next to the kitchen, the living room. In it, I didn’t find anything useful. And so, I continued on.

The next room was the room where I spent the last couple of nights in, and in it, just like in the last room, I didn’t find anything useful. And so, I continued on.

The next room was a spacious room with a double-sized bed. This room was obviously the old man's room. Like with the two rooms from before, in this room, I didn’t find anything useful.

I reached the door which seemed to lead to the last room of the house. I hope, I can find a map inside there. I placed my left hand on the door’s handle and pushed, but it didn’t budge. Then, I tried to pull, but it didn’t budge again. It's locked? I furrowed my eyebrows, raised my right foot and kicked.

The door lit up with a bright light and I got sent back flying into the wall behind me. A notification message flashed in front of me, <<-10>>. What the hell?! A health bar appeared above the door.

Magic shield? Why is there a magic shield inside an old man's house? I rose up from the ground, walked up to the door, and unsheathed my two weapons, holding my stave in my right hand and my sword in my left hand. I slashed with my stave, <<-171>> <<+26 Wrath>>. The magic shield was reduced to 726 health, but this time I wasn't pushed back.

I slashed with my sword in my left hand, <> <<+67 Wrath>>. I followed up with the slash with my right hand, <<-177>> <<+26 Wrath>>, then my left, <<-182>> <<+31 Wrath>>, my right, <<-192>> <<+28 Wrath>> and my left again, <>.

As the notification message flashed in front of me, the door shattered, opening a staircase, leading below. A basement? I thought and took the stairs, leading down.
