As soon as I finished reading out my system's main menu I went right into the stats page wanting to see just what I had to work with.

It was pretty self explanatory, bare bones basic if I’m honest, with five’s across the board in my stats. Though I was curious as to why my stat categories were all the same as a Pokémons, I voiced my concerns to both my parents to see if they had any idea.
“Hmmm, I’m not sure lad, from what you’ve told us generally they were meant to be like those from the Dungeons and Dragons games kids played. Perhaps your system is different somehow, I would have expected them to be higher given how physically fit you are for your age,” My dad commented.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
I nodded, “Yeah, guess I’ll just have to experiment some and see just what it’s all about later,”
My mum nodded, “just make sure whatever you do you stay safe. Now I believe that you mentioned something about a beginners package in your inventory?”
I nodded and quickly opened my inventory next to see a screen with twelve rows of ten boxes that had a scroll bar next to them, ‘looks like I won’t be running out of space any time soon,’ I mused to myself as I mentally tapped on the first box that had a an icon of a wrapped present in it, and brought up the details of my beginners package.
“Beginners Package, contains: three thousand Poké-dollars (system currency) and one Starter Pokémon token” I read out as I accepted and opened it, getting another pop up screen in response.
{Congratulations you have received 3000 Poké-dollars and one starter Pokémon token (system currency has been deposited and your token will now be placed in your inventory)}
I grinned and opened my inventory again and saw the image of a token with a picture of a silver Pokéball on it, mentally tapping it once more I read through the description that comes up for it.
{Starter Pokémon token, allows the user to summon one of the starter class Pokémon as their own, all Pokémon are treated as bonded familiars, should a Pokémon be about to faints or in danger of dying they will automatically be returned to their Pokéball and returned to Pokémon home for rest and recovery, in order to use please tear in two in your hand and a drop down menu will appear for your selection}
I nodded, it seemed simple enough and the automatic return system it mentioned was definitely something I was grateful for. It meant that my Pokémon wouldn’t be killed easily, though I was still worried about the killing curse, would the automatic return feature count it as a one hit KO move and let it hit them or would it recall them before it hit, I wasn’t sure I wanted to test it either way.
Putting that matter aside for another time I reached up to the screen and touched the inventory box with the token in it, the very next second it appeared in my hand making both my parents give a little jump when they saw it suddenly appear.
“That was very unusual,” my dad commented with an amused smirk.
“One second there was nothing the next it was just there, I assume that was your inventory?” my mum said as she looked at the token in my hand.
I nodded as I took the token with both hands, it was just a thin blue piece of paper with a Pokéball symbol on it, before tearing it in two causing it to burst into little specks of light and vanishing, only for a screen to appear in my vision with a list of all the regular game starter Pokémon on it.
I felt a grin come to my face as I saw the list, it had starters from every region and generation listed, every single one of them from old gen to new, and I instantly knew which of them I was going to pick.
You see I started playing Pokémon way back in the beginning of things. Hell, the very first video game I owned was a copy of Pokémon Yellow, and while I loved the first generation games it was the second generation games that sealed it for me. So when one of them was given a new evolution form in a new gen game I was ecstatic, and I could see it on the list right now so obviously there was only one Pokémon for me to choose as my starter.
