#Attract! Opposites Attract!
Previously, on Trust me, I'm an Engineer:
Everytime the Giant tried to get back up, Splay Mark would smite him back down, and any shield he tried to project couldn't stand up to our onslaught. Meanwhile, Voltanis and his (correction, Freyr's) horse would intercept any attempt by the Giantess at shooting at us, even if the attack came from overhead.
Slowly but surely, the Giant's HP was dropping to dangerous levels.
But just before we could land the killing blow...

RRRRrraaaAAAAHH!!!
With a great cry, the Giant let loose what was probably the last of his strength in a mighty frost nova.

The blast of cold air hit us like an explosion, knocking us back as well as chilling us to the bone. If I didn't have my hood up, I might have even gotten a debuff like Kenobi and Splay Mark .
SCREEEEECH!!
BOOOM!
"WAaaaHA-HA-HA-HA-HUUuuEEe!"
Voltanis flew from where he was near the Giantess due to the force of a firebolt, his summon apparently having reached its time limit.
"Freya, light our hearts! [Warmth]!"
After Kenobi finished casting the spell, my body began to get mildly warmer, dispelling the earlier chill.
Gained buff: [Warmth].
Mana regeneration has increased slightly.
"OW! Hot! Hot!" (Voltanis)
"... Well I can't please everybody."
Looking back at the Giant that had collapsed, it was obvious that he was going to die at any time soon. If this were a different game, there would be a big glowing "O" above his head prompting us to begin a QTE that would end his life in an epic and gruesome manner.
"He's weak, we can finish him," said Splay Mark as he began to walk forwards.
"Hold on," I said as I held him back, "Look!"
SCREEEEECH!!
"Woah, she totally losing it." (Kenobi)
The Giantess was yanking at her chain while screeching incoherently. It seems as though she was trying to get to the Giant. After several tries, she attempted to burn through the chain with firebolts and flamethrowers, neither of which had any effect on it.
Of course, she'd probably have tried that countless times before trying to escape.
"What's happening?" asked Voltanis, "Oh hey she's looking this way no- 'OLY SHIT!"
While swing her free arm like crazy, she started flinging a barrage of firebolts in our direction!
"Everyone behind me!" (Splay Mark)
While dodgeing multiple firebolts, we quickly dashed over and huddled behind Splay Mark, who had placed his NaS in front of him and was using it as a shield.
"I can't hold on much longer! Anyone have any ideas?"
"Well, she's obviously trying to get to her boyfriend over there." (Kenobi)
"Boyfriend!?!" Splay Mark exclamined. It seems he's the only one who didn't realize it.
"I cast "Identify" on those chain not long ago. They're Dwarven-made Masterpieces, we ain't gonna break them any time soon," said Voltanis.
"But that shackle isn't," I said as I took a closer look. Indeed, the shackle on the Giantess's wrist was very obviously made from a different metal from the rest of the chain, "Can you check it?"
"Alright! [Identify]!" Voltanis took a moment as he checked the stats of the shackle, "It's made from a self-repairing metal, but it's definitely destructable!"
"Good! See that link over there?" I was refering to the spot where the shackle met the chain, "We need a single, strong impact, preferably with a spike, and it should break it!"
I roughly outlined my plan to the others.
"Are you sure this is going to work?" Kenobi asked, "I don't want us to die for nothing."
I flashed a cheeky smile.
"Trust me, I'm an Engineer."

A firebolt hit the boulder I was hiding behind. While it was just big enough for me to crouch behind, there's no way it'll last much longer.
"Next one incoming!" yelled Splay Mark as he tossed one more boulder in my direction, "Oh shoot!"
Splay Mark had tossed it a little too far ahead. He, together with Voltanis and Kenobi were hiding behind a significantly safer wall formed by Voltanis's "Stone Spears". In fact, the boulders he was tossing were shattered pieces of the spears that Voltanis was continuosly producing.

"No problem!" I yelled back, "I'm gonna finish this after that boulder! Kenobi, get ready!"
Gauging the distance between the next boulder and I, I figured it was a distance I could cover with "Lunge" if I ran forwards just a little.
BOOOM!
Taking full advantage of the small cooldown between each firebolt, I got up and started sprinting the moment I heard the boom.
Counting off the seconds in my head, I made a hard turn away from the Giantess just in time to avoid the next firebolt, before Lunging to safety behind the next boulder and waited for the my cooldown to end.
"Here goes nothing... [Lunge]!"
Quickly jumping up onto the boulder, I activated my skill and Lunged straight towards the arm of the Giantess.
"[Snap Shot]!"
A single fully-steel bolt, made by me specifically to break through armor, struck the link at point blank.
Crack!
And left nothing more than a small crack.
*Oh well... I guess that didn't work.*
With one arm, I quickly grabbed the chain to stop my movements and pointed my crossbow at the Giantess, prepared to fire one last shot, when she raised her hand and pointed it at me, almost at point blank range. I could actually see her hand getting brighter as she charged her shot.
An attack from this range will almost certainly kill me, even with fire resist.
But this was all according to plan.
"[RESCUE]!"
That's right, the player with the fastest movement skill in the party, with a weapon perfect for this job: Kenobi.
The actualy speed of the "Rescue" skill isn't a flat amount. The speed varies so that he'll always arrive at the location just on time to intercept the attack.
This means, that the further he is from the target location, the faster he will travel. And he was at the farthest end of the room.
When Kenobi came hurtling at an impossible speed, he held his Lightsaber straight in front of him, with his buckler strapped on his right arm instead of his left (as his shield must always face the attack for the skill to work properly).
With the force of a thunderbolt and (I swear I heard it) a sonicboom, his weapon stabbed into the link with pin-point precision (as his accuracy stat was buffed by some Paladin supplication), shattering it instantly.
The Giantess stood, stunned for a moment as she couldn't believe what just happened, before she ran to the side of her beloved.
But Fire and Ice were never meant to be together, for the moment she placed her hand on him, steam and smoke arose from where they touched.
Undeterred, she clutched him in her arms, even as her body's glow started to grow weaker.
Originally unconcious the Giant opened his eyes, and smiled in contentment even as his body started to grow warmer.
As this happened, their bodies started to take on a grayish tone, and before we realized it, their bodies turned to stone.

The Fire Giantess, Fire Fury, and the Ice Giant, Hailrake, have been in love since long before humans were born.
During the God's massacre of the Giants, they fled to Midgard only to be caught and chained apart by the Gods almost immediately.
Eventually they were released by a group of adventurers, finally united, even as their bodies turned to stone.
Perhaps the Gods knew this would happen if they ever got together?
- Fire & Cold resist has been permanantly increased by 3%
- All debuffs have been removed
- Str has increased by 20 for a day
-All stats permanatly increased by 5
- If you have the "Faith" stat it will be decreased by 5% for a day.
- "Faith" stat permanantly increased by 40 if you have it.
Misc Items: Leyding & Dromi
Chains originally meant to bind a stronger being, but failed at their task.
They have since been repaired and put to other use.
