Hey guys, I redid TVA a bit and am still updating the chapters and changing things around. I didn't like how quickly paced it was and the overall feeling of the story. Now I have fixed a few things and tried to make it a bit better. I know I have not uploaded in a LONG time, sorry about that. This last year has been insane. I still wont be overly constant about uploads just yet sorry about that. It will mostly be me releasing whenever I have the time. Also keep a look out for some other new stories that I'm writing. Thanks for sticking around everyone!
“ Failure, Failure, Failure! I know these “True Void Arts” can work damn it! I’m a genius not seen in the entire lifespan of most universes! I got the whirlwind arts to work, I got the Starfire arts to work, hell, I even managed to make heavenly earth earthly body a complete artform! So why? Why can I not get the True void Arts to work, I understand they are a little bit heaven-defying, okay a lot heaven-defying. I came up and worked out all of the principles, I’ve worked out and tried dozens of mantras! Work god damn it!”
A young man who had his tenth birthday coming up was looking at his hand and yelling angrily. The young man had dark, short brown hair, and emerald green eyes, he was short, even for most kids his age, skinny, and yet to grow into any discernible build. This child was also a reincarnator, he was from earth originally and he hated it. He dreamed of being able to go to another world, to cultivate, to use formations, and become an all-powerful overlord who dominated everything! Now though he was Naath, a young boy in a distant village that was tens of hundreds of kilometers from the nearest city!
He had gotten his wish, but now he was regretting it greatly. While he lived on earth he loved to think of the how of cultivation. He always read about cultivation art forms or rare methods that had various ranks. But never in any of the writing did it say anything past “Bring the energy into your body this way” It never, ever explained the specifics! Due to this he thought up his own specifics and came up with four of his own methods as he had earlier yelled at his own hand. Now he was working on this fourth one, one which he desperately wanted to make work. Any of the other three he had made would have made him a cultivation genius of the eon. However he one day had an idea rooted in his belief of how the universe or any universe for that matter came to be.
Now he was obsessed with the cultivation method related to it that he called the True Void Arts. He refused to use anything else, the True Void Arts simply called to him in a way that he couldn't describe. He was a genius even back on earth, he had two master's degrees in computer science and physics. He even had a Doctorate in Chinese medicine. Here this comprehension and knowledge were called talent. His ability to understand quickly made him a genius in this world just as well, but it was considered differently. At least he was considered a genus now, at least until his 10th birthday in a week. He could simply use the whirlwind arts and cultivate in darkness energy as a stepping stone.
But he refused! If he couldn't cultivate with his own True Void Arts, he refused to cultivate at all! However, this posed a problem. Once the village elders realized that the person who seemed like a complete unparalleled genius showed zero ability to pull in even the most basic martial energy and step into bone hardening, they would refuse to allow him to cultivate or leave the small village. If he didn't show some ability to cultivate in a week he was doomed to never leave this small village. After thinking to this point his determination was rekindled and he focused on every aspect he could of the true void arts. Entering the first level was meant to happen when one comprehended and understood the true void arts.
So, why hadn't he been able to begin cultivating it and using true void energies?! He was in his own private home that he had put together himself when he was eight trying again and again to make use of true void energy. Soon the sun went down and the moon was high in the sky, Naath, while his real age was close to 30 his current body was only nine years old. He couldn't hang on any longer and fell into a deep sleep. When he closed his eyes and fell into unconsciousness, he re-awoke in a strange place.
He was surrounded by… Nothing? It was dark, unbelievably dark, it was as if light had simply not been invented here yet. He tried to look around but realized that he had no sense of feeling. He might have been looking around but there was nothing to indicate it, everything was the same lack of anything whatsoever. He went to draw in a breath and realized that there was no air here, but also that he did not need to breathe. He used his hands and tried to bring them together but it felt like space didn't even exist here yet, allowing for no movement to occur.
This confused him, if space didn't exist yet how was he anywhere in this place? He couldn’t feel any space around him, time didn’t seem to pass, and light didn’t seem to exist. The cogs in Naath’s brain slowly started to turn and he wanted to shout ‘I’m in the True Void!!!’ After he had this thought, he heard a relieved sigh seeming come from everywhere even inside his soul. Like it was his own thoughts but also not, it was strange but after that sound, Naath had more of these odd thoughts, as if something was talking to him.

“Finally, that clicked for you. Yes, you are here in the True Void, as long as it took you I can’t say I’m not impressed. A mortal, a human even, for something like yourself to be the one to understand and comprehend absolute nothing, well to say it is rare would do it an injustice. You are the first, In the countless infinite years since I got bored and created the first-ever universe, you are the only one of countless lifeforms that has realized what the True Void truly is. For you to have even made a way to cultivate with it, regardless of whether or not you've gotten it to work is more than a little bit impressive.
You’re here and can hear me because I brought you here. You were stuck and wondering why you cant cultivate your self-made True Void arts right? Well, I will give you an opportunity to learn. See your true void arts are in fact correct but your understanding is so very shallow. I will give you a chance, as the first one to ever discover the True Void properly I will reward you. 100,000 years, I will give you 100,000 years watching over the cycle of the void, and hopefully, you can gain some understanding from that. Good luck.”
No sooner had the words finished than in front of Naath a bright white nova appeared, a white so pure and ethereal that it seemed like nothing could possibly ever taint its essence. After this, Naath found himself looking at a universe on fast forward, the clouds of dust gathered and formed celestial bodies. Then raging black holes appeared and sucked in matter. Eventually, these black holes started to decay and die at the end of the universe and everything returned to the absolute blackness as even the fabric of reality died. Then, again the blinding white light appeared.
Again and again, Naath observed and saw this cycle occur in front of him, once, twice, ten times, a hundred, a thousand. Eventually, he lost track he must have seen it millions of times. The same series of events always occurred, sometimes they took longer sometimes they happened faster. These scenes embedded themselves into his very soul, he could never forget even if he was struck with amnesia he would remember these images. Suddenly the cycle changed, the universe was different, there were no black holes but there was an odd energy. Naath’s point of view was moved and he was overlooking a planet with living creatures from high in the sky.
Circles of this energy appeared and the people fighting down below him hurled fireballs at one another, froze the lands, changed the weather, and much more. Magic, he realized, they were using magic, this was a world with mana. As he watched some people grew more and more powerful. As they did the energy on the world thinned and these powerful people left. Naath’s point of view changed again and he saw massive beasts, some the size of continents, others planets, and some even dwarfed whole stars. They had insane levels of mana and soon wanted more, acting in seemingly fast forward. Soon one of them consumed the others and took on more and more mana.
Eventually, it contained all of the universe's mana, it was absolute and could be called a god. It lived for a very, very long time, but eventually, it started to die. As it did the mana within it also decayed and died off, all the energy in the universe slowly went away and everything here faded back into that absolute blackness. This scene repeated, again and again, another million times in front of him. Again these scenes were ingrained into his very soul. After this, they changed again, this time to a world of cultivators! The universe was born, a power took hold and seemed to become intertwined with the laws of the world, the chaos was split, and various lifeforms were born from energy itself.
After a time these lifeforms had descendants and began to cultivate, as time slipped by entire eons happening in mere moments, powerful cultivators rose and fell. Humans, beasts, and everything in between but the cycle persisted far, far longer than any of the universes before ever had. Until one cultivator grew powerful enough and fought with the laws of the world for change. The cultivator this time was human and he sought to overthrow the laws of the world and the heavens themselves that enforced these laws through energy. He succeeded, but at a cost. He could have reformed the heavens and let the cycle continue, but he chose to outright kill them and let the world be as it chose to be.
Because of his victory, he was praised by countless lifeforms as the greatest hero of all time. Soon though he was cursed, a mere ten thousand years later as the greatest sinner. The energies of the world began to stagnate and decay, with no heavens there was no cycle to keep the energy constant and alive. Soon all the lifeforms died struggling in vain to restore the heavens or to escape to other ‘worlds’ that were really just different parts of the same universe locked behind spatial barriers. Soon enough this universe died too and returned into the blackness. Again and again, Naath saw this cycle play out in front of him as well.
More and more new universes were created with various systems but they all eventually reached the same fate, returning to nothing. After seeing this perhaps billions of times Naath had an epiphany and unconsciously thought to himself.
“All things are created from nothing. They grow close and bind together seeking to be greater. In wanting and gaining more they destroy. Eventually, destruction is complete and all things return to nothing. Nothing, creation, attraction, destruction, nothing. This is the infinite cycle yet unbroken. This is the cycle of the True Void. True Void is”
After he finished speaking Naath woke up in his self-built home and he was sweating profusely gasping for breath. He looked at the sky and realized that no more than a minute had really passed. He tried to remember what he knew was a long dream but only felt a sharp pain in his head and the mantra he had spoken at the end was all he could remember. However, that was enough, he spoke the mantra again, and as he did he felt a trace of true void energy from within his body and begin to cycle through nothingness, creation, attraction, and destruction. He had done it, he had realized his True Void Arts!
