Chapter 2 : The Dawn apocalypse
The monsters finally reached the massive field and the chaotic players broke formation, swearing at us and laughting as they wanted the first blood.
The player who thinks he's the commander just sighted and called up all range fighters to shoot. "Archers! Far ranged mages! Fire!" He shouted.
"But what if we shot those maniacs?" A ranger asked.
"Who cares?! Just shoot! If they die then they die, none of us is going to get banned since this is our last moment!" He shouted angerily back.
There was a few shrugged shoulders but I just went wild, crushing the trigger of my autocross bow madly on my spot first.
My loud rucks made everyone focus on me and the shooting unit started to fire madly as well, some intentionally shot their own comrades running on the field, carefully trying to get a one shot kill or a head shot so their actions remained unnotice except for other rangers.
I think I killed two players, the accuracy on this isn't bad nor good but it does sometime shoot an arrow way off course.
When we all had to reload or wait for the mages to charge their spells the wanna-be leader cheered forward, roaring as he was overrunned by mounters.
The shooting unit too ran, flew or zoomed towards the monsters, leaving me alone with my party?
"Damn it, I need to go Lyth. I'll be back sis." Celeron sadly said and logged off.
I glanced at her but she didn't charge along, just standing there as she watched the first clash in the distance.
"You aren't going?" She asked as she noticed I was still here.
"Look who's talking, you're still under the 1k barrier so you can't shoot that far. Aren't you suppose to be going?" I unclipped the barrel and locked another one under the gun. Pulling back a lever to secure the connection.
As I aimed I noticed the angle of the string didn't follow in with the iron sights. So that's why it felt different.
I moved the angle to where it was suppose to be and pressed the trigger again, bullying a cyclops by shotting at its eye, giving it no break to let its arm down from its head.
"I'll just wait for Sc- Celeron to come." She spoke behind me as she erected a stump of smooth compacted dirt.
The beams of arrows I shot were covered in fiery light, the ring above my hand expanded and retracted rapidly as it enchanted my attacks.
I stood there for at least two minutes, non-stop shooting except when I need to reload and the monsters kept coming and coming, greatly flooding my sight away from the players.
"Think they're all dead?" I questioned as I threw away my gun on top of the five empty arrow clips and pulled out the two elemental scythe from the bag.
"No, I saw someone still fighting in there." She muttered boredly on her seat, impatiently waiting for Celeron.
Must be the two lords still fighting.
"Well, I'm going in now. I can make a more exciting show then those noobs." I grabbed the bag from the ground and stuffed the two handles of it in my jaw, holding the two scythe in both hands.
She didn't reply but watched me go off to the distance.
I swirled the red scythe in my right hand and the blue scythe in my left hand, they were both indentical but just in different colour and elements. I really wanted to try this out ever since I got these but after seeing it's a one use type I've kept it locked for 3 years.
I leaped into a jog, the bag bouncing solidly in my jaw and saw a giant skeletal arm erupting from the ground in the sea of monsters and swepted down, clawing at the titans around it before collapsing into ashes.
Necromancer confrimed, but still nothing about the others.
I was a few yard away from them now, nearing them more and more as their back were on me and focus on someone I couldn't see.
It wasn't till I got closer I saw the soul rouge running over the small monsters and on the legs of titans' slashing everywhere with his purple diamond transparent blade that was part of the rings hovering on his hands.
"Wait? You could do that with these?" I looked at my ring and tried whatever I could do while I was running. Imaging blades, closing in my fingers tightly, even reciting whatever when I was a grimoire user.
"Guess it only works for his class." As I said that a orcish axe ripped through the rouge leg, tripping him down and shredded by smaller mobs like the blood frenzy goblins and demon-hogs.
I jumped on a back of a giant wolf like creature and ran along its spine, leaping onto another monsters' back, traveling deeper in the horde.
After ten or so creatures I ran across I spotted a zombie eating the rogues' cropse and skydived down, my arms above my head as I charged to swing down.
By instinct the zombie looked upwards, the only monster that noticed me since I was running along the seemingly numb mobs.
The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
He groaned at me and stood up from his spot but I already decended apon him, my scythes' tore his arms and planted onto the bloody ground.
A shockwave punched my face and rippled across the area, the scythes' inploded and twisted as it soaked deep into the dirt. It was only a second till the area of the earth I and the horde of monsters was on rumbled and disconnected from the world, spinning on its spot with red and blue gem like shard coming out of the ground in a flash.
It towered everything and digged through anything that went in its path as it grew upwards.
The ground kept cracking into more empty rivers, rapidly growing gem shards came in a spiral from the outside of the spinning terrian and inwards, twisting above me and weaved over each other, shooting down at the monsters around me.
The stronger monsters that were pierced cried in painless wrath, struggling out of the shards by climbing to the top if it digged through their abdomen, other ones ripped their limbs off from their torso if it was pierced.
The weaker and smaller ones died instantly, their bodies laid in pieces around what killed them or hanging on the tip with their body dangling down.
The earth in the area slowed down in its rotation and the world around me stopped becoming blurry.
I stood up from my spot and took a good look at the pattern the gem shards made over me, a beautiful orchard in this bloody field filled with cropses of monsters. It was dripping black blood on its blue and red structure making it look haunted.
I dropped the bag from my mouth and caught it in the air, but as I was about to turn around a massive hammer came smashing on my back, breaking through the wire-framed dome and raming me through the other side.
I flew into the direction to the desert and saw a endless wave of monsters trampling forward to the field, even more fierous and powerful looking then this one.
My head came in contact with the ground and I rolled violently across the ground, holding onto the bag with a steel grip. After a moment of rolling I stood back and checked my bag.
"What do I have next in my bag?" I opened it and search through it, but frowned.
"Only Midnight wish left and the four sand marbles in my armor. Tsk." I shut the bag and unhooked the shield from my back with the multiweapon.
A steel blade formed from the plasma ball on the top and a spiked out open cage was formed at the bottom, the plasma ball at the bottom didn't disappear like the top but changed into the white serpent eye and sat in the topless cage.
I heard a explosion at my side and something hitted my head. I looked down and saw a yapping skull bitting feriously on my ankle with its sharp fangs.
I turn to the origin of the sound and saw the necromancer in a mess, his robe ripped and is not a he but a she?
Her long blue hair was a bit burnt and uneven. Her robe was in tatters on her shoulders and a silver armor gleamed underneath, but with dents and cracked plates. Her staff was all but a long bone from a dead creature, fresh as there was still dripping flesh on it.
"Guess guys ain't the only crazy ones here." I muttered as I turn to wait for the next wave to come.
There was aboslutely noone left except me and her in this field, standing on whatever we seem easy to balance on.
Oh yeah, the hammer from eariler. I turned around and saw a hairy beast standing with a stone hammer in its grasp, but there was a large white spike through its heart. Bone girl must've gotten it.
"You're still alive?" Her voiced huffed out, walking over to me as she used the bone for support. "I thought you died by that attack. You went flying like nothing."
I gave her a glance and laughted a bit.
"Least I look fine. I barely got touched."
She screwed up her lip a bit in a grumpy way as she studied my appearance and compared it to hers.
"What level are you?" She asked.
"Maxed out all magic based classes in this game, almost two sword base, on a good enough progress with archer and rouge."
"You're lying right?" She asked in disbelieve.
"Almost 10 years I've played this game, how could I lie about that? What about you?"
"Ah. Sure.. Level 3435. My second year on this game. I got a few progress on other classes but this one is my main." She turn towards the desert as well.
"Do you know that girl at the back?" She asked, not bothering to turn around.
"I know, but not really well, just a sibling of the guy that I partied with. But he's not here so it's just me and her in the party."
I pulled up my halberd staff and extended the blade and thinned it more as I got a better look at the oversized monsters coming, it's going to be difficult dodging those hammers.
"You need some healing?" I asked as I modified my blade.
"Are you a idiot? Of course I do."
"Don't you have a potion or something then? Or did you just rushed out here with only that?" I didn't really feel like helping someone right now but if I do then I don't see why.
"Used it all. Are you going to heal me already? They're almost here." She pointed the bone to the impossible to ignor sea of monsters roaring just right infront of us.
I swirled my weapon around and aimed the orb to her, blasting a light bomb on her.
The gashes and scratches on her arms and face disappeared and her damage and uneven hair repaired itself, growing back to its original form and giving it back the silky gloss all players' hairs have.
I activated the wide range double shield as well, giving us two giant transparent walls infront of us and behind us.
"Thanks. What do you have in that bag anyways?" It was hooked where my shield use to be, on my back.
"I really don't know. It's just a mechanical blue eyed owl that doesn't work. I thought of throwing it at a monster just for kicks but it seems like that's not going to work well."
"Is it a owl shaped bomb?"
"I hope so, otherwise I killed all those fairies for nothing."
"Eh?"
"I lost all reasoning during my fifth year playing this game, but when I heard there was something powerful and forbidden kepted by the fairies I just wanted to see what it was." I explained, shrugging my shoulders as if it wasn't a big deal.
"Is it the Midnight wish?"
"And you know how?"
"Because I've been searching for that. Pass it over and I'll show you how it works." She led out her hand towards me.
It has no value to me so I gave it without thought and watch her fiddle with it, ignoring the monsters 50 or so meters away.
A tweeking sound came from the owl and its wings flapped, twisting its head mechanically as it moved.
"Guess what?" She said in a playful tone.
"What?"
"It's an owl bomb. And I can't turn off the fuse." She threw it at me and ran away, running towards the monsters as if it was better then staying here.
Are you kidding me? I looked at the eyes of the owl and saw the light was nearly at the point of fading away.
"Oh-"
A nova exploded on my spot and sucked everything within a large radius, creating a large deep crator on one spot and kept building up, suddenly inploding and blasted into a thin white blue wave across the field that shot the necromancer off the ground and over the sea of monsters and gently touched Asselyna cheek from afar.
I had to use my sand marble again, escaping it by a hairs' strand on my fingers.
I couldn't leave this battle field but materialising back would be a waste of the marble, but knowing these monsters would ignor me in this form and charge at the town far behind me forced me to materialise infront of the abyss created by the owl.
I looked at my surroundings and saw all the gem shards broken and shattered, the titans that were trying to get out was even in a more worser condition as the shards broke within them and destoryed a lot of things in them, bones, organs, they just couldn't move properly and their health bars were dropping rapidly.
