Prologue - No Way

Prologue - No Way

/

As the certain shop door swings open, the doorbell rang, notifying the shop owner of a customer's arrival.

???: Welcome!

A shop owner in his early twenties stood up behind his counter.

Customer: Uncle James!

A ten-year-old boy who is wearing brown clothes shouted out excitedly.

James: How many times I told you not to call me uncle.....

James's thoughts: Do I look that old?

James could only scratch the side of his forehead in annoyance.

Boy: But my mother said that we should always greet people properly.

James could only cross his arms and sigh to the boy's answer.

James: Just call me James will do.

Boy: Okay

James: So what you are here for, Corn?

Stolen story; please report.

Corn: Oh yes, my parents told me to return you this.

Corn rummaged through his pant pockets.

Corn: There it is!

Corn took out a card that has a unique card back.

Corn: Here's the card.

As Corn took out the card, the card started to float away from his hands and flew into James's hands.

James: The Wooden Bull. I thought I told your parents to have it

James replied as he gazed at the front of the card. The card shows a picture of a wooden bull in the middle of a wheat field. White words with black outline started surfacing, almost covering the entire picture.

Corn: My parents said it is not safe to have such a magical item with them so it is best to return it back to you.

While Corn was saying, James was in the middle of recalling his memories.

James Mo was just a normal everyday high school New Zealand student and his parents are always working overtime. Barely having time to care for their only child, James was raised from young by his Asian mother's parents.

James was going home late as he and his friends are done with their gaming party. Although his grandparents have a strict curfew for him, James still allowed to come home late before midnight. Realising that he would be late if he takes the usual way home, James decided to take a shortcut which he never dares to try before.

After walking for a long way, James felt that he has lost his way. James took out his phone and activated his internet service, attempting to use the GPS to find his way home. There was no signal shown on the phone and the internet service is not working. Not knowing what to do, he decided to lay back on a tree and wait till morning

As the sun raised up in the sky, rays of morning sunshine woke James up from his bed of fallen leaves. Suddenly, a male electronic voice started speaking. James heard something like "Trading Card Maker System at your service." and a huge blue outlined screen appeared before him.

System: How may I assist you, Sir?

The electronic voice spoke again but James is stunned by the current events.

James: No way..........
