Chapter 6 - Grimchester Workshop (Part A)

James: Looks like It will be crowded.

James said while looking at the several people walking left and right in front of him.

James's thoughts: Will it be alright if I activated the research portal and throw this sack into it?

James mentally spoke while look at the small heavy sack he is holding.

Ophelia: There will be no problems. The research portal is completely invisible to people has no permission to see.

James: Well then, here you go.

James's thoughts: Activate research portal.

James replies while releasing his hold from the small heavy sack of rare metal bars.

The sack disappears before it reached the ground.

Ophelia: Elements detected. The new elements are iron, bronze, copper and silver.

James's thoughts: Ophelia, I have a question.

Ophelia: Yes, Sir?

James: Why only 15 gold? You should be able to generate unlimited gold.

Ophelia: Sir, due to lack of energy, that is the limit of gold I can generate so far.

James: I felt so poor all of a sudden.

James recalls mentally that he has a rich background in his world but now he is currently a nobody in this world.

You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.

Ophelia: More customers, more energy, more gold. Please put in more effort, Sir.

James: .......

James was speechless at Ophelia's "motivation".

James: Let's head to the alchemist's workshop.

James sighed while reply after surrendering to Ophelia mentally.

Different weird fragrances could be smelt as James entered the workshop.

James: Anyone in here?

James called out as there is no one at the counter.

James tries ringing the hand-sized silver bell at the counter.

James: Hello, anyone? Looks like the owner is not around.

James was about to walk out of the shop and he hears a faint female voice.

????: Somebody, help....

James: !?

James looks around the counter before entering the back of the workshop.

????: Help

James located the faint voice from a heap of books and hurried over there.

James pulled something that seems to be the hood of a brown cotton robe and drags the person out from the burial of books.

????: Thank you. Can you let go of my robe?

James: Oh, sorry. Are you alright?

The person who stood in front of James and was dusting herself looks like a blonde-haired elven child wearing cracked glasses.

Elf: Not really, Looks like I have to get new glasses.

The elven girl took out her glasses and checked the cracks.

James: Should I help you call someone else from outside?

Elf: No need for that. My assistant should be back from the market soon.

Elf: Now may I know who are you, lad?

The elven girl spoke after she put on back her cracked glasses.

James's thoughts: Lad!? I don't mind if someone who looks older than me calling me lad.Her elven child looks seems to tell me that she is acting being older. If I remember correctly, elven in fantasy stories are known for their long lifespans. I suppose this elven girl might be really older than me.

James: I am just a shopkeeper and I am here to buy some of your wares.

Elf: Shopkeeper? What do you sell?

James: Cards. Monster summoning type of cards.

Elf: Monster summoning cards? Interesting, I might visit your shop sometime.

James: You're welcome.

Elf: So what do you need? I can give you a discount for saving me back there.

James: What would you recommend if I would have to go a trip to sell my cards?

Elf: You should have no problem traveling if your cards are monster summoning types.

James: Right, but what if I do not want to reveal them?

Elf: Then I would suggest Bombs.

The elven girl pointed to a shelf of hand-sized corked round flasks as she spoke.

Elf: I have various types of bombs that can be used in various types of situation.

Elf: So may I ask, my dear customer, what type of bomb do you need?
