20 years ago Gates that formed in the shape of doors appeared all over the world. Every day after they appeared the doors would slowly open. After seven days people realized that these gates housed terrifying monsters that would attack any living person they laid their eyes upon. But it was too late. Normal guns and explosives would not work on these creatures and within the span of a couple days 50 percent of the world population had been killed. This is when the first Awakened appeared. This person was not normal. They had strange powers that could not be explained by science. But these powers of theirs could be used to kill the monsters that were appearing around the world. Over the next few years humanity slowly began to take back the land that the monsters had claimed from them. Scientists found out that by going into the Gates and killing the dungeon boss the gates would close and no more monsters would appear. The threat of the Gates did not go away as new ones would form after the old ones were cleared and there were still gates that could form in places where people would not notice until the time limit was up. This went on until one day a boy was born that would change the world as we know it.
