The exam you had to take to get a hunter's license was very simple. You would walk in, sign up at the counter and wait for your turn. When your turn came they would ask you a few questions and then you would show off your abilities.

This was a problem for me. What would people think when they found out there was a hunter with the power to pause time. What if they tried to lock him up. There was a very good chance they could easily catch him considering that he could only pause time for 10 seconds. He did have an idea though. He could tell them that he had the ability to teleport. It was a skill that only a few people had but maybe I could fool them into thinking that this was all my power was. It was worth a shot.

I stepped into the building and went up to the sign up counter.

“Are you here for an evaluation?” the lady asked.

“Yes” I replied

She then gave me my number and I went to sit on one of the many benches littered around the building. My number was 132. The number that I heard them call when I stepped into the building was 53. Considering each exam took about 3 minutes I was going to be here for about 4 hours before it got to my turn.

“Examinee number 132 please report to the examination room” a man yelled

It was finally my turn. I got here around 11:00 in the morning so it was nearing 3:00 in the afternoon when my number was finally called. I walked over to the examination room and there was a nice looking lady waiting for me. I walked up to her.

“Are you Nora Wilson” she asked

“Yes” I replied

“Do you have any knowledge of the skills you possess” she asked

“Yes” I replied

“What are the skills” she asked

“I only have 1 skill and it is teleportation” I replied

She looked up at me surprised before asking me a few more questions. It was not everyday you got to witness teleportation. I went out onto a large platform that lay in the middle of the examination room as the question lady left to go into a large room overlooking the platform. I heard the voice of a man over the intercom.

“You may show us the ability or abilities you have” the man said

I then tried activating my skill for the first time. I could feel the mana rushing over me before the whole world stopped. There had been noise coming from outside the room before but now that was silent. I looked up into the room where the man and the question lady were standing and they had both stopped moving. All I could think about was how stupidly overpowered this was.

I then started to run across the platform form. I looked at the mana I had left.

[ MP: 10/20 ]

I had 5 seconds left until the ability stopped. When the ability stopped the man and question lady were confused for a second before looking around to find where I had gone. When they finally spotted me they wrote some stuff down and then I heard the man's voice on the intercom again.

“You may exit the room”

I exited the room and heard a man yell from the front desk.

“Examinee number 132”

I ran up to the front desk and he handed me a card that had my name and rank on it. It said rank F. This was the lowest rank but that was to be expected as I had just become a hunter. I then exited the building and headed back for my house.
