As I was on the way back to my home when I spotted a small door with a golden frame in the middle of an alleyway. I instinctively knew what this was. It was small, probably E-rank. It was protocol to call the Association when you spot a Gate but I wanted to test what my new system could do against a monster. I walked up to the gate and it opened wide as if inviting me inside. I stepped inside and was greeted with a dark, damp cave.

Yes! As I read the words in front my heart was racing. This was the best thing that could happen now. Although I did not know how much the ability points helped but they had to be good. Plus 200 XP, this would level me up at least once. And +100 HP although I don't know how HP worked either but this would be good for me too. The only problem was how to beat the dungeon boss. I have read forums on the internet about all the different F-Rank dungeon bosses. The list from weakest to strongest goes Goblin Paladin, Skeleton Paladin, Kobold Paladin, Gnoll Paladin, and Zombie Paladin.
The chances that this was a goblin dungeon is 50%. Although the goblin dungeons are the easiest and most common they are still pretty hard to clear just starting out as a hunter. The easiest way to clear this dungeon was to have a Debuffing Mage with the blindness debuff. This debuff is pretty good against Goblin and Skeleton Paladins but only has a 50% chance to succeed against Kobolds and Gnolls Paladins and a 25% chance against Zombie Paladins. Anything above this and the chance are basically 0. But because I don't have this magic and don't have any mage friends with it I had to find a different way.
The skill that I have could work but I only had 10 seconds to kill it or I would die. When I was leaving the examination building I tested the time it takes for my mp to recharge. It was 10 seconds per mp point. It would take 200 seconds for my mp to fully recharge. Although I could use the skill after I had recovered 2 mp, 1 second would not make much of a difference. Plus it would take 20 seconds for 1 second of [ Time Pause ]. This was too long so I had to think of the perfect plan. The rooms are always different so I would have to see the room the paladin was in before I could think of one. So I took out my phone and turned on the flashlight
When I started to move forward I could hear sounds coming from the darkness. I was holding out the flashlight but it was still really hard to see in the darkness. As I moved forward the noises stopped and I could hear footsteps coming towards. A small green figure stepped into the light and I could tell what it was. A goblin, famous for being small and agile while also having the strength of an adult male. A lot of newbies have lost their lives to these creatures because they underestimate them.
As it took another step in my direction I could see that it was holding an iron knife. I then activated my skill. I had 10 seconds to get the knife and kill the goblin. I ran towards the goblin and grabbed the knife out of its hands and then stuck it into its neck. The skill then deactivated because of lack of mp. But I had already killed it. The goblin fell over.

+25 XP
So I get XP after each kill. This was like an RPG so I guess it was to be expected. I picked up the knife and moved on. Although this one didn't, sometimes monsters have Soul Cores in them. You can sell these at the Hunter Association for money. Even E-Rank monsters have cores worth 1,000$. This is because craftsmen can use these cores to make magic weapons. These are the only weapons that work against monsters. You can also sell weapons like the knife the goblin was carrying but these dont sell for as much.

As I was moving through the dungeon I came across a group of 3 goblins. I immediately turned off the light. This would be a challenge. Even though I had the knife now I had to think of a plan first. Before gates goblins were thought to be clever but the ones that showed up in are world are very dumb. I picked up a rock and threw it across the room. When they looked over at the sound I creeped up behind them. They then heard me behind them and I turned on my skill. They stopped moving at once. I then took the knife out and slit all three of their necks. I turned off the skill and the three of their bodys fell to the ground lifeless.

You have leveled up!
Finally. I wanted to see what happens when you level up so I called up the menu.
[ User: Nora Wilson ] [ Level: 2 ]
[ HP: 150 ] [ MP: 30 ] [ XP: 0/200 ]
[ Stats ]
[ Strength: 2 ] [ Agility: 2 ] [ Intelligence: 2 ]
[ Available Points To Assign: 3 ]
So all of my stats went up 1 point and my health went up by 50. So it looks like per point into intelligence my mp goes up by 10. And per level my health goes up by 50. I still don't know how Hp works but I think it's good. My Xp also went up. I also received 3 points to assign. I wanted to test the extra point into Strength and Agility but I could not think of any way to do this unless I put my points into something and I wanted to check which ones were useful before I did this so I stopped myself.
I ran into a couple more goblins and killed them all easily. Right now my XP was looking like this.
[ XP: 150/200 ]
I then finally arrived at the dungeon bosses room. I peeked into the room and saw the 3 meter tall Goblin Paladin sitting with its back to the entrance. I now had an extra five seconds to kill the giant goblin. I turned on my skill and ran towards the goblin with the knife in my hand. I ran around to the front and slashed the goblins eyes. I then undid the skill. As I backed away as the goblin screamed in pain.
[ MP: 10/30 ]
I had 5 seconds left to finish this. I had the advantage as the goblin could not see. When it got up on its feet I could now tell that it had a greatsword that I had not seen earlier. I then started regretting backing away.
[ MP: 16/30 ]
I still need a little over 2 minutes for my mp to fully recover. I remembered that the goblin paladins had exceptional hearing. It turned towards me and dashed. But it was slow. What was happening. I leaped out of the way. Was this the effect of the extra point into agility. The goblin got back up. And turned towards me again. I added an extra point into agility. As it leaped at me I could definitely tell the difference. It was moving slower. I easily avoided the attack. I looked as it got back up and pulled out my knife. I was going to kill it and I would not even need to use my skill. It leaped at me and I stepped to the side. I took the knife and stuck it in its eye letting the momentum carry it into its brain. It still felt too easy to stick it into its eye. This must be the effect of the one point into strength. The goblin's body went limp as it hit the ground.

You Have Leveled Up!
Nice. I leveled up twice and gained 5 ability points. I also gained 100 HP. It was surprising how much 1 F-Rank Dungeon could help me. I pulled up the menu.

I had 13 free Ability Points but I would assign those later. I looked at the dead Goblin Paladins body and saw a Soul Core rising from the dead body. I had to leave the greatsword because it was too heavy to carry for the current me. I took it and stuck it into my pocket. With this final act, I had successfully completed my first dungeon.

I exited the dungeon and turned around. A dungeon would close 1 hour after the boss died. The door started to crack and then imploded on itself. I started to head home after this. I could not sell this Core because the Association would probably ask where I had acquired it. But I was happy with the outcome of the dungeon. I had leveled up 3 times. I arrived at my house, went up to my room and went to bed.
