Chapter 7

This Isn’t My World, And It Pisses Me Off

Chapter 7

Ikari slammed his hand on the Potion Bench, having already grabbed a single [Aqua Bead] and [Lavender Petal]. He created a [Potion Of Minor Enchantment] and checked it’s stats.

“Only 21?” He stared at the boost to the potion. “Hmm.” Instead of drinking it right away, he grabbed the small measure and filled it. “Bottoms up.”

He drank the shot and then checked his stats. “Five Hundred Forty.” He nodded, content with how it turned out. “Ok, I’ll drink about…” He thought for a moment. “Ten more, then check.”

---

He proceeded to do so, drinking shot after shot of Lavender Milk flavoured potion. By the time he got to ten it tasted like ash. “Yeah I will never be able to drink this again.” He sighed, checking his ring again.

“SEVEN TRILLION!?!” He exclaimed, quickly running over to the ingredients and grabbing the required ingredients for a [Potion Of Boosted Enchantment].

Once the potion was completed, he checked the boost it would give his Enchantments.

“1 Trillion!” He was practically foaming at the mouth. He quickly remedied himself, figuring out what his plan of action would be.

“Ok. Okokokokokok. I make another ring, just the one this time. It’ll probably give the potions a boost of about…” He shook his head around, rattling his brain. “80 Billion? I think.”

“I’ll need to find another ring, and during that time…” His eyes strayed to the books that were there. He could learn about potions that would actually help him do damage.

“I don’t know how to fight, so hopefully there’s like a Melee Boost Potion.” He thought to the room he was heading to. “Or enchantment.” He rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

His mind made up, he grabbed a few of the thick books and left with his potion in tow. He was going to make his way upstairs to the Enchanting room, but he noticed something out of the corner of his eye.

“Hey!” He called out. A small girl in a maid’s outfit jumped at being addressed. She had two black pigtails that swung round as she turned to see who called her.

Her bright blue eyes widened when she realised it was the Hero. “Y-Yes Hero Sir?” She asked, bowing before Ikari.

Ikari immediately felt uncomfortable at the idea of someone bowing at him, but quickly ignored it. “Could you get me an unenchanted ring? Uh, please.” Yes, he was in a hurry and yes he wanted to beat the Demon King then kill a God, but that was no reason to forget his manners.

“Is this required for you to defeat the Demon King, Hero Sir?” The maid looked up, a small curiosity in her eyes.

“First, don’t call me that.” Ikari told her. “Second, yes. It will help.”

“Then you would be able to ask for a million rings.” She told him.

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

“I only need the one.” Ikari repeated. “Besides I only know one enchantment.”

“Very well, Hero Sir. I shall tell the King immediately.” She left with a bow, just as Ikari shouted after her not to call him that.

Ikari shook his head, making his way to the Enchanting Room. He pushed the door open with his shoulder, surprised that he hadn’t seen hide nor hair of any other noble or servant.

When he had first entered the room, he had been too excited to enchant his new rings to examine it. Now that he was here and he planned to enchant something, and there was no time limit, he took a moment to look around.

There was the enchanting table of course, but aside from that there were several glowing orbs of glass. He wondered if they actually had a purpose or if they just for aesthetic. There were several books on a set of dusty shelves, making Ikari wonder how long it had been since anyone was here.

He walked over to the shelf and pulled out a random book. He opened it and instantly felt his mind bombarded by information. Several enchantments flew into his head, leaving him grasping it in pain.

“That makes no fucking sense!!” He cried out once his mind had recovered. “Why the Hell did I learn all those but not the Potions!?” A throbbing pain and shrill ringing in his head caused him to cease yelling.

With one hand on his head he reached out to try and hold onto something. His hand landed on the Enchantment Table. He managed to stand up while ignoring the pain. He opened his eyes and saw the Enchanting screen at his side.

“Oh damn…” Ikari let out softly, seeing all of the enchantments listed.

His eyes left the list when he heard a knocking at the door to the enchanting room. “Uh, come in?” Ikari said, unsure to the situation. The door opened and the same girl from earlier poked her head in.

“Uhm, Mr. Hero Sir, I have the ring you requested. And the King instructed me to take you to your room when you are finished.”

“First off, name. Seriously.” Ikari deadpanned. “Second, what do you mean room?”

“Well, it’s quite late sir. The sun has already set.” She gestured to a grimy window. Ikari walked over and wiped away some filth with his sleeve.

“Oh fuck.” The moon was high in the sky. He placed the potion books down on a small chair and turned to the enchantment table. “Better get this done soon then.”

He held up a hand to the maid, ready to catch. The maid tilted her head slightly, unsure of what Ikari was doing. “The ring, please.” He eventually asked.

“Oh!” She fiddled with the front of her dress, reaching into a small pocket by her stomach. “Right away Hero Sir.” She held out a single silver ring that was engraved with spirals. Ikari took it, but also held onto her hand so she couldn’t get away.

Blue eyes widened and looked up to the unwilling hero with trepidation. “My name is Ikari. Please call me that.” He let go of her hand and turned to the Enchantment Bench. A part of him knew he shouldn’t even be bothering, seeing as he would be gone from here soon hopefully.

He placed the ring on the table and looked for the Boosted Alchemy enchantment. It was the first one in the list, so he didn’t have to look very hard. “Still only 30 Mana.” He murmured, pressing the [ENCHANT] button.

A crackle of magical lightning struck the ring, appearing in an instant and disappearing just as quickly. Ikari slipped off his three 148% rings and slipped on the single silver one. “Ring Stats.”

He looked at the stats with wide eyes. This, this was good. A soft gasp sounded out behind him. He turned to see the maid looking at his hand, where the description of the ring floated above. Ikari realised that she could see the stats, and immediately closed the window.

“Please don’t tell anyone about that.” He asked, turning to face her. Ikari couldn’t begin to imagine what those jackass nobles would get up to with an enchantment in the billions.

“O-Of course sir.” She bowed, not seeing Ikari’s flat look at being addressed as sir.

“Thank you.” Ikari nodded, stifling a yawn and wondering how long he had been stuck in this world. “8 hours…” That meant he had been dead in his world for eight whole hours. He hoped his family was ok. His dad had a strong will, but his mom and sister would need a lot of comfort.

“Where is this room?” He asked, the maid raising her head. “Also, what is your name?” He told her to call him his, it was only fair the other way around.

“Madyline Reinigen.” She answered immediately, standing up straight and staring right ahead. Ikari wondered what the Hell kind of training servants at the castle went though. He’d figure it out tomorrow.

“Thank you, Madyline.” He said, gesturing to the door. “Lead the way.”
