Chapter 2

This Isn’t My World, And It Pisses Me Off

Chapter 2

Ruby red eyes opened for the first time after dying, and they immediately glared at the being in front of them.

“Oh, is that how you express yourself to the God of this world?” Before Ikari was an empty white room, containing three items. A chair for him to sit in, a table next to it, and across from him, a silver throne.

On that throne sat a man that wore a clean pressed suit of a deep grey along with a blood red tie. A black void of a head with only the barest hint of facial features stared at Ikari. From what little could be gathered, his expression suggested that he was annoyed at something.

“Honestly, I can’t believe you.” The God stood up, fiddling with the cuffs of his grey suit and shaking his black void of a head. “You realised what was going on, why didn’t you just accept it?”

Ikari grit his teeth as he tried to stand from his chair. An invisible weight seemed to be pressing down on him, making it difficult to rise. “I had to use my own power to get you here. Do you have any idea how annoyed having to create lightning made me?”

“HOW ANNOYED YOU ARE?!” Ikari exclaimed, finally shooting to his feet and matching the God in height. “YOU KILLED ME!! AND YOU’RE THE ONE ANNOYED?!”

“Most of you die on the first truck. So yes. I am annoyed that you made me expend more effort. Now just be happy and go to the other world to defeat the Demon King.” The God waved his hand and the floor beneath Ikari began to glow.

“LIKE HELL!” The human exclaimed, grabbing the blood red tie and pulling it towards him. “SEND ME BACK, NOW!”

The back of a hand struck Ikari’s cheek, sending him flying. He crashed into the chair that was meant for him, finding himself rigidly stuck in a seated position.

“HOW DARE YOU!?” Ikari shuddered in his chair as a force pushed down on him from above. “YOU DARE ASSAULT ATO?! GOD OF THE AFTERLIFE! TRANSPORTER OF SOULS BETWEEN REALMS!”

Ato. Now he knew his name, Ikari was certain he would never forget it. The God breathed in and out for a moment, before regaining his composure. He fixed his tie that had been set askew by Ikari and stared down at the human.

“Never before has a human been so troublesome. You are truly the worst of your kind.” Despite the fact he lacked facial features, Ikari was certain he could make out a snarl.

“You killed me. I wasn’t some shut-in NEET who would’ve loved an Isekai.” Ikari tried to stand once more, but fell back into the chair. “I was fine with how my life was. And you, took that, away from me!”

He finally managed to stand, though his stance was shaking due to the intense pressure that was pushing down on him.

“Normally, I have to gift a human some sort of power or weapon in order to help them defeat the Demon King.” Ato said, ignoring Ikari’s words and the way he slowly made his way over to him.

Despite the lack of eyes on his face, Ikari could tell he was looking him up and down. “I’m sure the clothes on your back will count.”

That bright light shone once more beneath the human’s feet. “BASTARD!” Ikari yelled out, somehow managing to lift up his arm while withstanding the immense pressure.

He formed a fist and swung it towards Ato. Just before it made contact, something akin to a smirk appeared on his face, and light erupted around Ikari, and he was gone.

The afterlife waiting room was once again occupied by a single inhabitant. Ato scowled as he brought a hand to where his lip would be. He could feel where Ikari managed to punch.

It did no damage of course, but the fact he could still feel it filled him with annoyance towards this new human.

“Oh well. He’ll probably be dead within the week.” The God sat back down on his throne, crossing one leg over the other and waiting for the next Human to appear.
