This Isn’t My World, And It Pisses Me Off
Chapter 6
“Glad this place has working toilets.” Ikari sat on a surprisingly modern looking toilet. He was just amazed it wasn’t a chamber pot. Out of habit, he reached into his pocket to check his phone.
After seeing he had no notifications he placed his phone back into his pocket.
“WAIT!” His hand dove into his pocket and stared at the black item. He had his phone. He had his phone?! Before he could let himself be overwhelmed with joy, he had to make sure it worked.
He clicked the side, and the screen came to life. Joy was not the emotion that Ikari found, staring at the screen. Instead, it was rage.
His screensaver was a picture of him and his friends. His friends that he was taken away from. Ikari gripped the phone tightly, breathing heavily. He frowned at himself. There had to be a better place to have a breakdown than on the toilet.
He took one last breath, and unlocked his phone. “That’s it. I’m killing God.” He had to turn his phone away for a moment, unable to look at his family.
His father, mother and sister all stared up at him happily, along with Pachinko. His dog that acted like the metal ball, bouncing off the walls. “Don’t get upset. Don’t blow up.” He repeated a mantra to himself.
“I’m going to kill the Demon King, kill that stupid God, then go home, and buy Pachinko a million treats.” He refused to go into his gallery and increase his anger, instead checking his apps.
“I don’t have any apps that will change the world around me or give me ridiculous powers or anything.” He recalled an anime like that. “Which was also an Isekai, God damn it.”
What he did have however, was his already downloaded applications. “My potion effects would have worn off by now, which means I’ll be starting from scratch. But, with my 444 rings, it’ll go much quicker.”
He went into his Calculator, and did some quick maths that he wouldn’t have been able to do in his head. “Drinking one potion with my current rings would give me… 540%. Ok, good, so I don’t have drink like a hundred shots of Lavender Milk.”
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
Lavender Bubble Tea would never taste the same again. He figured he had spent enough time moping on the toilet, and stood up. He looked for a chain or button, but instead found a tiny blue glowing crystal. He pressed it lightly, and water shot out from it down the drain and flushing away his refuse.
“Huh.” Magic. He figured. He looked around for a smaller crystal that he could maybe wash his hands with. He found nothing, and then shuddered when he realised no one in this castle washed their hands.
He picked up the small crystal and held it above the drain, activating before putting his hands under. “They don’t have soap, so this is the closest I’ll probably get.”
He shook his hands dry and placed the crystal back where it belonged before turning to the door. Just as he was about to exit, he heard obnoxious voices from the other side, and he hesitated on opening the door.
“So, twenty gold on this new guy? Are you sure, he seems rather cocky.” A muffled voice said.
“Yes, but sometimes that can be beneficial. Twenty gold for, at least to the badlands.” A different voice responded.
“Your loss. I don’t think he’ll last till the next town.”
“Remember the one who didn’t last a day?” There was laughter, and Ikari grit his teeth.
“Or-or the one who was convinced kindness was the way to beat the Demon King.” The laughter increased and Ikari could picture the two nobles outside leaning on each other for support.
They both sighed in relief, and continued their conversation. “Well Walter bet that he would trip down the stairs.”
“He just wants his ring back. I mean honestly, ‘best wishes’? He’s a cheapskate.”
“Well that is why he’s the richest of us.” The voice grumbled. There was a sort of resigned agreement between them, before they continued talking out of earshot of Ikari.
Ikari fell against the door, shaking with anger as he realised what their words meant.
He was not the first Hero here. He was not the first one to be killed by Ato and sent to another world. Others had come, and others had lost. Others had died.
His hand gripped the large bronze knob, twisting it roughly and throwing open the door. The nobles were long gone, but Ikari strode in the opposite direction, back to Alchemy Bench.
They didn’t think he would last? They didn’t think he would defeat the Demon King? If he didn’t, that meant more people would be sacrificed and sent here by Ato, just to die all over again.
He was going to win. He was going to make sure no one else had to come here. “No one else will have to go through this.” He whispered to himself, walking by a servant girl with black pigtails who looked up in surprise at his words.
“No one else, will feel this pain.” The pain of losing your family, your friends and your life. He opened the door to the Apothecary and slammed it behind him.
“Not as long as I’m here.”
