This great witch is living a “semi-retired” life

But it's true!

Back when I was still active, I had to deal with several crises at the same time that would put the recent interesting outsider and Antarctica incidents to shame.

I would buy and trade souls wholesale - entire generations and cultures. I will probably trigger someone, but some kinds of people are born cursed (and guess who is responsible for it?)

Well, the Justice Department of the Heavenly Host has overruled this particular decision some time ago, but the point still stands!

The point being, this great witch is currently living a semi-retired life.

Even if it may not seem like it at first glance.

"But, oh amazing and wonderful great witch, we beseech your endless wisdom, who resolves the incidents that crop up nowadays, if not you?", some will ask.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

The thing about immortality, is that it's not very hard to achieve.

The other side used to give it out like candies - I mean, it's not difficult for them to bend reality a little and make some creatures incapable of dying.

Well, there is a hard limit of how many such entities a Universe can support before reality is way too bent out of shape, and nowadays it's given out much rarer, still, the number of already existing ones is not insignificant.

But even when you ignore true immortality - one that is unshakeable on a fundamental metaphysical level, there are false immortals too - like Vampires and ghosts and such, who can be tricked into death but rarely are.

So the population of immortal mages, as slowly growing as it is, never declines, which means that there are a few more creatures capable of dealing with crises than back when I was young.

And, unlike mortals, we have the foresight to mostly not have our decisions come back to bite us a few short years down the line - nor do we create problems out of nowhere.

So the number and scale of the problems that arise nowadays is about the same as it was when I was young.

Thus, this witch can afford a bit of leasure.

A bit is not a lot, however.

I still have ways to go before I can change "semi-retired" to "retired" in the blog description.
