The Beginning!

The Beginning!

Alex lay flat on his bed as he strapped his helmet on. Closing his eyes and drifting away.

[Synchronising 1%. 4%.. 7%... 80%... 99%.. Complete]

[Welcome to The World Of Divinity]

Alex took in the surroundings as he saw a robed lady standing in front of him. The room pure white without anything dirtying it.

'Hahaha this really is the starting room.'

Alex felt all different kinds of emotions overcome him as a lump in his throat caused him too lose his breath for a second. Up until the stunning beauty in front of him woke him from his thoughts.

[Welcome adventurer, my name is Xiao. I am your guide to the lower realm.

Shall we begin.

Please pick a class from the following:

Note: These 12 jobs were categorized into 4 main classes.

Warrior: Guardian Knight, Shield warrior and Berserker.

Combat Specialist: Swordsman, Assassin, Ranger and Archer.

Healer: Cleric or Druid.

Mage: Elementalist, Summoner and Cursemaser.

Warriors specialized in defending by blocking damage and then returning it. Often or not they were the once to have the beasts focus on them. So often or not they were referred to as the 'Tank' high Vitality and study defence. Reliable teammates and a crucial part of the team.

Combat Specialists are damage dealers. They are a class that focuses on eliminating the target. While everyone else is distracting the target this classes role is to make sure their enemies die.

Healers are exactly what they sound like. Instead of dealing damage or blocking attacks they replenish the teams health.

Mages are a unique character as they focus on magic attacking or defending with different spells. They are a class of versatility and freedom to customise.]

[Please note brave wanderer that these classes have many different outcomes later down the line. Although possible to change classes it is incredibly difficult.]

[Please pick wisely.]

In his previous life Alex had picked Assassin and he was a world renown assassin as he danced through the battlefield causing mischief. He once again picked the role of Assassin as it was what he was most comfortable with.

"There's no point disregarding my 10 years of experience." He muttered to himself.

[Job selection complete. Please give your character a name.]

Alex without much thought immediately typed in Zero.

[Naming successful. Binding name to character. Done. Do you wish to change character appearance by 5%?]

Alex thought about this and decided to click yes. Although it was only 5% it would be useful up until he had enough status later on and could rely on a backing to get rid of any danger from enemies in real life.

[Please selected a birthplace or click random to spawn at a generated town.]

Alex thought about it and immediately made his selection. After all, there was no place better than the place which he was most comfortable. The place which he selected in his past life.

[Red Leaf Town.]

[City confirmed. Happy Gaming.]

All of a sudden Alex was hit with a wave of noise, smells and sights. Standing in a midst of a swarm of players.

The buildings in the town were in a style of medieval yet upgrade almost. The streets were chaotic with NPC's and players alike. Stalls of trade and shops could be seen at the sides of the street. Restaurants for leisure and decorations stood out.

Alex was taking back slightly as he was reminiscing.

"I'm back."

'First things first.'

"Status."

Checking in his bag Alex also held 3 silvers which was equivalent to 300 coppers. He also had 5 pieces of cornbread and 2 bottles of clear water.

Every Assassin started out with the same stats and every player started out with the same amount of free attribute points and skill points. Attribute points were for placing into strength or the like and skill points were the requirement to learn a new skill.

Alex quickly placed the 4 free attribute points into agility as assassins had to be fast. A slow assassin was a walking skeleton. Increasing his agility all the way up to 6. Instantly he felt a warmth flow through him as he now felt somewhat lighter than before.

"Now then to level up."

Alex swiftly left the bundle of new players and made his way through the streets. He saw players sprinting off to grind monsters trying to get ahead of the curve. Alex however wasn't going to do that yet.

"Where is that old man again?" muttered Alex trying to recall where to receive the hidden quest. Making his way through the back allies he found a man tucked way feasting on a bottle of alcohol.

"Old man, do you need some help?" said Alex

"What could a snott nose kid possibly help me with. Get lost."

"Hahaha, Old man don't get ahead of yourself just yet. This snott nose kid just happens to know where that 'Thing' is."

"Whatt!" shouted the old man in surprise. "Your not kidding me are you. If you can return me my badge of honour then I'd truly owe you."

[Quest received: Locate and return the old man's badge of honour.

Reward: 3000 XP, 1000+ Favourability with the old man.

Failure: -2 favourability in Red Leaf Town.

Do you accept: yes or no]

Alex grinned as he clicked yes.

Although the quest rewards weren't major and in fact the failure for the mission was harsh as negative favourability meant it would be harder to walk about in the town and purchasing items would be more expensive. What truly mattered was getting the favour of the old man. As this was in fact a chain mission that later could dish out a ton of experience.

"Not to worry old man, I'll be back later on with badge in hand." replied Alex as he turned and left leaving the man to his alcohol.

Where Alex was heading was where level 5-10 level monsters spawned. The creak. It was a common levelling spot for beginners outside the town. However, currently their was no one in the entire game that was than level 3. So going into the creak seemed like a total death trap.

If people were to find out they'd simply call Alex or better yet 'Zero' suicidal.

Alex on the other hand could because he had what nobody in the world had right now. 10 years of combat experience at the highest level.
