Freedom is the ability to make choices and act according to one's own wishes. People desire freedom, and if they can't have it, they will revolt. That was what happened to the colonies and in Europe during the nineteenth century. People desired freedom so much that it has become an important concept in today's society. It is so significant that it is now a part of many cultures. Since it is now a part of modern culture, people are affected by it. I am one of those people affected by it. I love my freedom and would fight for it, but my current situation seems dire. Fighting back seems useless.

"Guuugh," I moaned accidentally. It hurts. This thing was choking me. I can't do anything; he can somehow touch me, but if I try to touch him, he just phases through. So, I gave up. I couldn't do anything. I didn't want to ask for help because more people might die. Even if I wanted to ask for help, I couldn't.

Is this even Earth?

I calmly looked around and saw that we were on a different planet. I think it is not a planet; it looks like the moon. But why is everything so hot? Even the air is ionized. As far as I can remember, the moon does not have any gas. "Come on, just kill me already. Give me the sweet release of death." At least that way, I could have my freedom through death. It would be a pitiful end; I am still seventeen and have so much to do. But there was nothing I could do except face death calmly. He, however, was not calm. "I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!" This thing screamed at me. I don't even know why he was attacking me. I feel like asking him would just make my situation worse. He finally did it: he crushed my spine, but alas, it was of no use.

It obviously hurt, but I have a ridiculous amount of pain resistance. I don't know where it came from, but I am just naturally resistant to it. Something appeared near my head. I do not know what it was, but it was made out of lines. I suddenly felt my head being squished and pierced. My vision and bodily sensations came to a halt. However, I am still conscious; I can still think.

Oh, I can see again and even feel my limbs. Sadly, he was still holding me.

Ah! I hit the back of my head. I felt my brain being mushed but still alive. That feeling of a mushy brain disappeared a second later. He threw me. I couldn't see his movements; he was too fast! I calmly stood up and noticed... I was naked. I let out a sigh.

I don't even know why I can regenerate, but as far as I can remember, it's something I have always been able to do. My first memory of my regenerative abilities was when I was a kid. I accidentally burned my finger by touching a candle on a cake. It hurt, but the pain quickly disappeared, and the scar vanished.

I cannot escape even if I wanted to. If he somehow dies, then what? I am stuck here; I can't even die. My body was squished and sliced by him, but I am still alive and well. The lack of oxygen doesn't even affect me.

He instantly appeared in front of me. The palm of his "hand" reached out for my face, and a huge mouth appeared. It was like a giant worm with extremely sharp teeth. It devoured me, but unlike being digested, I felt an enormous amount of pain—pain I never thought I would feel. This was not like being digested by acid.

Suddenly, I could see again.

"How are you still here!!!!" he screamed again like a madman. 'He really hates me, huh?' Did he really eat me? I calmly looked around, but there were no signs of vomit. I raised my head and looked around for any signs of being vomited.

I felt my mouth curve into a small smile after seeing a random guy near us. He was just looking at us while holding a cup. He proceeded to drink it—was it tea? Coffee? Water? I may never know. Seeing this guy in my vision made me happy; I was now seeing hallucinations. This meant I was close to dying.

"You are just like your brother; you are mocking me!!!!" This guy is really pathetic, huh? And now a brother? What did that bastard do? I'm joking; I never had a brother. But since I am an orphan—an adopted orphan—who knows? Maybe he was indeed telling the truth. "That blonde-haired scum deserves to DIE!!!" he screamed once again like a maniac and began to beat me up in ways I could not even comprehend.

When would I experience my freedom again? The freedom of death. I do not want to die, but if death is the only way to gain freedom, then so be it. Beggars can't be choosers.

"Hey, I—ugh! I... I have a question," I managed to say despite choking on my own blood. He stopped beating me and just looked down at me. "Is that guy with you?" I asked because that guy was clearly not a hallucination.

"Who?" he asked back, not knowing who I was talking about. Was he too focused on beating me to notice? Or was I hallucinating not hallucinating that man? I pointed to the man I was hallucinating. He froze in place with his eyes widened when he saw the man. The more I looked at him, the more I got chills. Was it because of his smile? Everything turned black in an instant. I couldn't see anything, but since I could still think, that meant I was still alive. Huh? I can't see anything, but I can move my arms. I began to touch my face and could feel it.

The blazing hot sun began to touch my skin. Why am I in the middle of the street? Huh? I can remember just waiting for a bus to commute to school. Why am I now here? This is a dream. This should be a dream, but..... Why would I dream "this"?

I turned my head to look at my bag; it was still there on my back. This is just a dream. I am having an odd dream about going to school and then teleporting to a random street... But why does it look so real? I looked around and saw the architecture. Why did my dream put me in Thailand? This is a very odd dream; I never knew dreams could be this bizarre.

"Oh, no, no, no, no, no. This is not a dream," a man said while walking closer to me. He has black hair and red eyes. He is wearing what looks like a traditional Thai costume that screams "royalty." Hold on, why does he look like me? This dream is getting weirder... "We can wait for an eternity here until you are convinced you are not having a dream," he said with a smile on his face. One question: why is he smiling? Does he have any plans for me? A random guy who looks like me smiling at me is a red flag.
