Damian pov:
My friends and I were all sitting in Justin’s room. It was a more private place to discuss me being a vampire. They basically wanted to know what it was like and the conversation was mostly heading in that direction until Tyler made a suggestion.
“You should wear a mask to hide your face when you go out on your vampire business at night.” It was honestly a good suggestion, with the vampire hunters out at night it would make sense for there to be some sort of way of guarding my identity. I decided that I needed to get a mask ASAP, but I also felt I needed to hide my face while getting the mask in case the hunters had spies. I went to the kitchen and picked up a knife, and knowing that this would hurt like hell, I slashed it all over my face losing hp but I had to withhold my healing so that my face stays unrecognizable. Before I left I showed Justin and Tyler my face. And to put it in simple terms… Tyler barfed and Justin had to look away to refrain from doing the same.
Getting to the costume store was easy enough, the problem was getting a nice mask. I had eventually decided on a plain black mask and got a cloak as well and also a tight fitting black bodysuit just for precautions.
I was now jumping from roof to roof the act made easy by my strength. I noticed a group of people in dark clothes at a construction site. I followed and I saw that they were hunters, they had cornered a vampire who looked bloodied and beaten. I was surprised that there were other vampires besides me in the city.
‘If you were the only vampire in the city then there would be no point in there being a whole organization based on hunting them down now would there?’ ‘Good point’
I’m well aware that I can’t fight all of them so I quickly hatch a plan.
I notice that they are taking their sweet time walking towards the vampire arrogance in their every step as the one in the lead is holding out a sword. I notice most of them are using swords. Basic swords with black hilts and steel blades, except the one in the lead whose sword is glowing in a sort of holy-like light. Anyway back to the plan, so I move from bar to bar and snap the neck of the guy at the back of the group, then I move the body away in case they look back. I use some stones to lure another one of the guys over… and SNAP! Another one dead. It’s a repetitive process until there are only two left. No point being sneaky now, I activate blood strengthening in my legs to a higher level than usual and kick the lead in the side. It looks like I caught him off guard and his ribs are cracked. I pick up a sword from one of the nearby corpses and get into a random battle stance. “Vampire!” The leader yells out in anger. I mean obviously what else could I be. “We will slay both of you!” The second calls out in equal outrage. I turn to notice that the wounded vampire is standing next to me. “Thanks a lot young man, they outnumbered me, I hope you intend to stay to fight both of them.” “Of course!” I mean I need the exp anyway. He went towards the henchman while I attacked the leader. In the course of my fight we were both gradually taking damage against each other, clashing with our blades causing sparks. I tried to throw a few surrounding items to catch him off guard but he dodges and deflects them all, I thought I saw an opening and moved in to attack. I then redirected a strike from his sword causing him to lose balance for a second. I tried to slice him across the neck but he quickly bent his head back and I narrowly missed it. He took a large step back and swung his blade at me from afar. His arm extended along with it, it looked like he had some elasticity ability. And with great timing I grabbed the hand to pull him closer and slashed his throat with my sword. It looked like the one I rescued had also killed the other hunter. With both of them being dead we both sat down to talk.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“My name is David, and I cannot tell you how glad I am you saved my life.”
“It’s fine, I was just around and decided to help you, nothing much.”
“Well you seem very new yet quite talented to the vampire world, how about in exchange for you saving me I introduce you to the vampire society of the city.”
I thought about it for a few minutes and agreed, it might be a good idea to meet and form relationships with other vampires.
“Well then! First stop, the club!”
