Finding this rabbit took some time. First we had to look for traces of it. There first sign the rabbit is around is there being lots of rabbits. The rabbits should also be a little aggressive. We found a lot of them, but they were not aggressive. The next thing to look for is big rabbit foot prints. The size of two hands.

Those are hard to find but with a expert hunter with us. It only took two hours. While looking for the rabbit we also collected lots of nuts and plants. If we some how fail killing this big rabbit. Then we won’t go hungry at least. I hope we don’t fail. I have to stick it to my dad. Prove that we are better and that to have better security. One must have a mind and soul that is willing to change.

Not that being conservative minded is bad. One must also have some ways of keeping tradition. Since if you go to far in a new way of thinking. You will lose your identity. Losing your identity may end up making you lose your sanity. I don’t know about other people. I just know, I don’t want a life crisis.

We have to setup the attack. Since we are dealing with a monsterish animal. We need to attack with a well thoughtout plan. The plan we have now is to use Kivi and Marigold as bait. The big rabbit is a omnivore. Most rabbit are vegetarians if I remember Earth species correctly. It is the same except with monsterish animals.

Rabbits like the big one we are hunting like meat. If it could eat a “easy” meal. Then it will eat the easy meal. What it won’t expect is a spear to the neck. Once it is stabbed it will want to run away. It willl hop backwards and that is when Marigold will use a sling.

She said that she is not a good hunter. In a fight she can use a sling. She shold me a little of her skill. She reminded me of the story of David and Goliath. She was able to sling a round stone and damage a boulder. In the biblical story. David did not damage a boulder but a giant.

If a spear and sling are not enough. Which is what I think. Sehegerv will use his bow. The best case scenario is it jumping mid air. Sehegerv can easily snipe it once it stops for the half second before it starts falling. He says he can it the thing so I just have to have faith in him.

Kivi is getting nervous. Can’t blame her for that. No one wants to be bait. People are used as bait when they don’t have anything great to contribute. Her role does require her to not get hit. She needs to dodge and not get killed by any means. Any means that don’t inolve me getting exposed.

I am required to stab the rabbit in the neck. If she exposes me or hiners my movement. Then we are both screwed. My life as a demihuman will be short. I have infinite lives but dying so soon. At least to me the idea of dying so young sucks.

Kivi gained courage after I put a hand on her left shoulder. She calmed down after looking at my face. I don’t know how just looking at me helped her. But I am glad it did. We took position. I layed down by a bush and Kivi stood next to it. Off to the right we have Marigold with a sling. To the far right we have Sehegerv.

With this we are all set for the killing of the giant rabit monster thing. Don’t know what to call it since I wasn’t given an exact name for it. Regardless of that fact. We need to get the rabbit’s attention. I think Kivi speaking up would be a good way to get it’s attention.

Something like a cough to just perk the rabbits attention. If you are too loud this will even spook the big rabbit. So I think sneeze or a cough would be perfect to get it’s attention. When I brought that up as a suggestion. All parties other than I shot that down. She things throwing a stick or stepping on one is good enough.

More natural sounds, so the rabbits will not see us as suspicious. I think a stick would make it scared. I remember a friend telling me how easily scared the creatures get. You break a stick 25 feet from them. They will flee in a heartbeat. Whatever they are the masters in hunting and gathering. I will let them do their thing.

When everyone was ready Kivi stepped on a branch. This alerted the whole group. They didn’t run like I assumed. Just goes to show you that the experts are experts for a reason. When the rabbit that was big saw Kivi. It ran towards her. I believe in you Kivi you will live!
