Chapter 14: A War In The Dinning Room

“Heeey, Honey we need to talk about something important.” Enna said with a cute smile. Behind that cute smile is hiding something terrifying. A woman’s true emotions that she is hiding. Evie is softly and cutely eating the eggs that were on her plate.

I walked over and sat down across from her. I am hoping she doesn’t kill me. She might kill me since sitting down next to Evie made her even more angry. I tried my best to be brave but I am cowering. I cannot help but do that as her presence is growing even scarier.

“Who knew that love was such a beautiful thing. A young man could fall in love with a beautiful maiden like me. Then he can go get in love with an old hag!” She yelled slamming a fist down on the table. Making all of the surrounding plates, tablewear, and glasses to shake a little.

“I am only 20 years older. I will remember that. When you turn 150 in 20 years.” Evie said with the same stoic face eating the vegetables off her plate.

Wait a minute. Evie is 150 years old? I thought she said she was about the same age. No, she was talking about their family dying around the same time. 2 old hags I am married too?

“Tell me why you married her! It better be a good reason. If not.” She paused and refrained from saying any more. Think Yama, Think! Say something!

“Evie said you and her parents died recently. She said you guys always treated each other like sisters. So I said why not become actual sisters through marriage.” I said with a bright smile.

Her mood became softer but she is still very mad. I guess what I said was the right thing. I looked at Evie and she had a slight blush. Very unlike her. Enna sighed a little bit and spoke.

“I know that wasn’t the only reason. The reason you stated did make me feel better. Just tell me the full truth.” She said with a slight frown. I sighed as well and gave her the full story.

“I see. Evie still accepts goblins even with all the bad rumors. And you thought a elf wive would help fix that goblins situation. I still don’t like it.” Enna said.

“Our husband would agree with me. Regardless this is my feelings. We are only a little better than the nation that fell to us. Beta hated us so much that they thought we were nothing but slaves or tools. That or lesser than a bug.” Evie said.

“Still accepting goblins as the same as people will be tough on not only us but all demihumans.” Enna said with a creeped out frown. I can see how hard that will be. Humans, not all but most humans are the ones that are open minded.

We discussed a little more about the topic. After Enna calmed down she spoke about the war. She told me her feats yesterday. She killed three lieutenants within a minute. Then she made three males fall in love with her. I don’t know why she added that part in. Since she did that the nation whom I forgot the name of already was capitualted.

With our discussion Enna went to bed. She has been working all night to secure some borders and end some wars. Thanks to her we can focus on the south and the east. I feared she might fall in battle. I am just lucky she didn’t even working all throughout the night.

“Evie, what are your plans today?” I asked her when she got up.

“War and more war. After than a nice long bath. Then sleeping on your soft bed. I expected a nice strong man to carry me over to bed. That punk left me on the couch.” Evie said while flicking her long silver hair back.

Evie left the room while Yuki brought out my breakfast. She bowed a little and went to the side. I saw that she was holding her stomach. I felt bad so I told her to hurry and go eat. I would be fine by myself. She looked at me multiple times and ran off. Glad to see that she is eating. I can’t image going days without eating. Or maybe she ate every day but just small portions.

Regardless I hope the best for her. She needs to eat more and grow up to be strong. She then needs to live her life at a job she enjoys. Find a husband and live a quite life. I hope that guy treats her like a princess. That girl survived a goblin encampment.

After my breakfast I opened up my menu to manifest another person. I can only summon him when I am in war. I do need him now, a war general. He needs to lead knights and commoners into battle. So I randomized his name and he appeared.

My general already knows that we are in war. And asks where he needs to be sent off too. I told him south since I will be heading east with some knights. This war will be a long one so I need to also work and fight. Kings need to also be in battle to get fame and what not.

After I sent him off I see that my civiliians factory was made. I need to select what product will be made. What should I make. It only gives me one option. Commoner’s clothes. Do we have wool or something along those lines? Whatever, make commoners clothes I guess. I got up and headed towards where the horses are kept.

After an hour of riding I reached the border on the east. I see a camp of soldiers that are from my side. So I trotted slowly to them. They saw me and got up to salute. They informed me of the situation. There was a small skirmish. 2 of their soldiers attacked us even with a big advantage. We had fifty soldiers at that area. The nation that borders us is about fifty feet. Still weird to see a small scale inversion.

There are three nations we are at war with that are next to each other. There are three more but those are connected at the south. I have a few theories. The first is that the nations we are at war with is small in man power. There could be a lot of noncombatants.

The second is that they were testing how much force we would use on a small incursion. The third and in my opinion most likely. Is that they are using a a few deaths to distract us. They are preparing for something big. If I survive today I need to summon another war general. He needs to help me fight these enemies who are crafty.

I went closes to the border to scout it out but another small skirmish just happened. Three soldiers ran at the knights. The elves who used bows saw them and were able to shoot them down. Why so many small skirmishes? Should I send scouts? Have the scouts scouted ahead already?
