Chapter 2: Elven Little Lady

Chapter 2: Elven Little Lady

A week has passed and I made a lot of strides in forming my nation. I have called upon three farmers, two knights, one archer, and one fisherman. The nation is increasing in power. That and the food harvesting and planting are going swell.

Now we have 68 people in the nation. 8 of them were manifested and not birthed. So time and resources were little to none. What is good to know is that the humans I call upon are humans. I found out one of my knights has been eyeing Lumi for a little while.

So I can manifest people and those manifested people can have kids. Meaning I don’t have to worry about human resources. What pains me is that I still am working on building the infrastructure. My path is going well, but I need to get a builder.

I hate having to do infrastructure. My skills are not based on building. My expertise is managing. My main expertise is managing. I do have other expertise. I just know I should in the future avoid building. Maybe, I should help with the research? I don’t know maybe help cultivating the land? That might be the better option.

Or start developing weapons. We do have a blacksmith, but the farmer who does it can only make farm equipment. Let’s make a shack for the blacksmith I will make tomorrow. Well, I can give him a roughly made shelter. I need to focus on a smelter for him. Once he comes around manifested then I will ask him what needs to be made for him.

Here is a good area to start a smith. It is on the borders of the elven forest but as long as we don’t go past 10 trees of the forest we should be fine. Or we should be? Do the elves border the whole forest?

There is a little tiny elf on my border. She looks lost. A human and an elf together will cause trouble. I can’t leave an obvious kid out here along with beasts from fantasy stories. Even if they are more civilized than my stories back on earth. That makes the ones who want to commit evil even more terrifying.

They are stronger than humans in the case of orcs. They are more devices in groups in the case of goblins. Well, anyway if I help out an elf it will improve our relationship with our neighbors. I walked up to the elf and she backed away a little bit since I am a different species.

“Sorry to scare you. You're in the land of humans. Let’s get you back home before you get more lost.” I said holding out my left hand. I chose my left hand since my right hand is what I use for defense. I have a puny knife for protection. I hope we don’t run into trouble.

She started to shuffle back and look at me with puppy dog eyes. Ugh, I can’t blame elves for spreading the evil deeds of humans, but they should teach things differently. Not every human is out to enslave elves. Some like me are trying to conquer the… Nah, it is good that the elves teach kids humans are evil.

She is still scared a refuses to talk. It could be that she can’t understand me. Everyone has their own race language. The writing system is the same. The way you speak the language is different based on the species. I assumed everyone would know humans since it is the most popular language.

“Please, no hurt please.” The tiny elf said still shanking in her boots. Dang it! I have to talk baby. I hate talking like a baby. I just hope no one sees me speaking like a kid. I won’t be able to live it down.

“Me elf friend. Me kind, me nice.” Ugh! So bad, I need to study the elf language. I hate speaking like this. I don’t like the idea of speaking like a baby. I bit my lip and held out my hand further. She then took my hand and started to climb on me. What the hell is this girl is she part spider?

In almost an instant she sat only on top of my neck. Is this a piggyback ride? I was expecting to hold her hand not a piggyback ride. Well, hand-holding with kids in my opinion now thinking about it. Creepy and suspicious so piggyback riding is a way better decision.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

As I made my way through the forest I felt a cold eerie feeling. Not because I thought I was being watched. Because the woods are where monsters lurk. I am not used to this neck of the woods so I have no idea what is after me. There could be nothing or there could be wolves.

Regardless I have to help out this child. I would hate for it to be killed when I could do something about it. What am I doing? Giving pity to a potential enemy. Is this how a ruler would act? I need to remind myself that even though I have infinite lives. Not to risk my life on stupid things.

She keeps giggling. Or whatever it is. It has long hair, but who knows? Any kid could have long hair. I remember men or boys in high school with long hair. While lost in thought the girl pulled my hair. This made me stop abruptly. I was a little angry. I did not show it since I didn’t want to ruin the kid's mood.

Next thing I know after regaining consciousness from my deep thoughts. There was an arrowhead pointed near my throat. Oh, I guess I will die today.

“Why is a Human from the Bune nation here?” An elf with long pink hair with a great rack shouted at me. I was surprised for a second to see a beautiful girl. Then I remembered a bullet, no an arrow head was pointed at my throat. She is only about 40 feet from me. Meaning that would go straight through me.

“This child was lost and walked on my land. I merely helped her find her way home. After she did I would merely go back.” I said keeping my story and answer short and sweet.

The girl started speaking in the Elvish Language. Not sure what she said. She said something to lower the guards behind the pink-haired girl's weapons. She still had an arrow pointed at me. Is this how people in stories feel when getting stopped by bandits?

Thankfully they aren’t…Are they bandits? That never occurred to me since how well the nice-looking elvish girl looked. I just assumed them to be a part of civilizations. I still think they are a part of civilization. Since I don’t think bandits would dress so nicely.

An old elf, probably older than dirt emerged from the guards behind the pink-haired girl. This made all the other guards bow before him. He is a person of high importance. He doesn’t look strong. He looks old and frail like even I could easily kick his ass.

When the old man put his hand on her shoulder her tense shoulders immediately relaxed. She turned around and after a second bowed down to him. The elf on my neck jumped down and ran to the old guy. She started to jump on him begging him for his attention. I felt so foreign to this interaction. I did feel like an outsider. I almost turned back and walked towards my land. I was curious about him since he must be in high standing. As a person who is also in high standing, I felt like I should stay to give my respect. Still, I feel out of place. This is an intimate moment for the elves that rule the land.

He gave some attention to the little elf and then walked over to me. He had a big bright smile. It creeped me out a little bit, only because I could not feel any malice. The man was genuinely happy. He had no ulterior motive with that smile. That is why I was creeped out.

The man started to speak in a very soft tone. In such a soft tone I would have to ask him to repeat himself. Only if I wasn’t focusing on him solely. Since I focused on him I can only barely hear him.

“We should talk this out. King to an old fart. A lot needs to be discussed.” The man said. I agreed with him by shaking my head. I have no idea why I said yes, but I went with the flow and followed him deeper into the woods.

When I arrived at a little hut I walked in. I thought I was going to die if I am being honest. What man walks into a lonesome hut? If I was back home I’d say this is a start of a snuff film. When I entered he sat at a fire in the middle of the hut. He lit a fire and started to pour water into a pot. Is he making tea? Is it hallucinogenic tea? Will I trip balls if I ingest it?

“Sit down and let’s talk.” The man said. This time it was easy to hear him. Must be because we are in an enclosed area. I find it weird since we were in a thick forest. Yet, it still was hard for me to hear him.

I sat down as gracefully as I could. I made sure not to offend him in any way. I am a foreigner so I might have done something bad without realising it. I remember doing that back home. I didn’t know Asians cared about taking off their shoes in front of the house. I always did except one time I forgot I had them on. I saw an old Japanese woman rise from the floor and run towards me.

Never again did I forget to look up the do’s and do not in foreigner's houses. Made sure to always eat whatever the Muslims gave me. I heard from a friend that if you don’t eat whatever is on the plate that a Muslim mom gives you. You basically just spit in her face.
