My name is Hana Binatha. I'm a transfer student at Ilutu City High School. It's been a month since I entered my new school and to be honest, I got the first impressions that are hard to describe. I had mixed feelings on my first day of school such as the fear of loneliness, the chills of my previous school days life, and… the joy of blossoming friendships.
Monday, February 6. 6:45 p.m.
I walk down the halls of the school past other classes. As far as I've been walking, I counted about seven classrooms on the first floor of building A. By the way, my class is on the second floor of building A, you just have to go up the stairs in the corner of the building. Actually, There is a staircase too at the front of the building, but since there are so many students that are using that route, I feel I won't be able to breathe even by looking at it. Therefore, I took the quieter inner stairs.
Presenting myself at the back door of my class, there are two classroom doors, the front door if you go through the front stairs and the back door if you go through the inner stairs. Maybe its original function was to make it a one-way door, but it doesn't seem very effective because many students are free to use any door, either to enter or exit. The door was opened and I heard many students' voices chatting. Some laughed and some asked their friend to be allowed to copy the math homework given last week. Well, I've finished it already though...
I don't know why I still have to work up the courage to enter this class, even though it's been a month since I entered. After gathering courage and exchanging breaths, I take my step in. No one turns to look at me and no one greets me. Well, they are busy with their own thing. While walking my way to my seat where the location is at the third line from the right side and the eighth row so it's close to the back door. This class has 4 lines of seats and each line has 9 rows of seats. Each row only has one seat for one student, so a maximum of 36 students can be accommodated. By the way, Reza Arkan's seat is in the first line from the left and the third row, beside the outer window. Meanwhile, Chika is in the same line as me, in the second row.
I hang my bag on the table hanger, pulled out the chair, and sit down like a good girl. My gaze is straight ahead, the student in front of me isn't present yet so I can see the whiteboard that is very far away. No one greeted me, no one waved. But, I don't really think about it. I keep looking forward and feel that time is passing very fast. The movement of the students seems to be speeding up, maybe it's just my imagination.
Taking gaze at the class wall clock that is above the whiteboard, the clock shows the time 7:11. Then, I see a familiar figure enter the classroom, Chika. The girl entered through the front door and walked to her seat. We exchanges glances and smiled, then she put her bag on the table and…
*HUBGH*
… Suddenly she hugs me…
What a speed. As expected of someone who was selected by the gym coach for a running competition…
“Good morning, Hana!” Chika's voice drowned in her hug.
“Y-yes, good morning. You're energetic as usual…” I said, still shocked.
"Did you know? Last night I…” Chika then told me about a TV drama program she watched on the weekend. The story sounded sad with the female main character who was the MC's lover passing away, but it looks like she died without regrets.
The story was so sad that it made Chika cry in my hug, “D-Damn, why did the H-Heroine have to die? Goddamn, you inhuman sto-storywriter!” Chika said while whining and sobbing.
“A-Ahhh, don't cry in my arms, please…” I said, which she didn't care about. I push Chika's face from my tummy because otherwise, my uniform would get wet. It's so pathetic. I can only push away and look back, averting my eyes from Chika. And that's when I see Arkan who entered the classroom through the back door while chatting with someone accompanying him.
We exchanged glances, he was looking at me with a confused look then turned to Chika. Wow amazing, his expression suddenly changes drastically when he turns both of his eyes to Chika, as if he really didn't like her or what she's doing to me.

Like feeling the presence of someone who is really hated, Chika suddenly woke up from her embrace of me and looked at Arkan. Maybe she also sees Arkan's friend behind him.
“What'cha lookin' at? Get out of sight . This is girls bonding time, it shouldn't be seen by the creeps like you".
THE CREEPY ONE IS YOU!!!
I said in my mind and probably Arkan too.
Chika issued a very harsh insult with such a pathetic face. Then without saying a word, Arkan continues to walk towards his desk, leaving his friend who has a seat that is the opposite side of his, relatively close to mine.
“A-Arkan!” I suddenly called him. Arkan who suddenly called froze on the way and then looked back, "G-Good morning" I said with a stiff smile.
Arkan gasped, perhaps surprised by my sudden greeting. Then he smiled at me, "Yes, good morning" Arkan issued a very gentle greeting.
After greeting each other, I turned to Arkan's friend and said, "Good morning too, Tomi".
...
Tomi's face is shocked. Oops, did I do something that I shouldn't have?
Suddenly, Tomi's face changed like an affected mother, no, eh? Crying? “A-Arkan… H-Hana greets me…” His words are broken.
"Y-yeah..." Arkan answered briefly, surprised.
Eh? Uh??? Why are you crying? What's wrong???
The hell? What is this? Suddenly in the morning, two people were crying in front of me.
"Ha-Hana, good morning too" Tomi answered my greeting a little stiffly.
Chika suddenly interrupted, “Have you greeted each other? If so, please get out of sight".
"Wow... our President's attitude changed 180° when she's with Hana" said Tomi, who suddenly became cheerful again as if nothing had happened.
“Yeah, and that's creepy” A piercing sentence came from Arkan. I could feel Chika's hug getting tighter after that.
“But yeah… I finally got a greeting from Hana. I'm looking forward to it, you know" said Tomi.
Eh? Looking forward to it? It's been a month, you know? Even if you want to say Hello just said it in front of me...
“What are you, a moron? If you want to be greeted, you should be the one who starts. Why are you waiting for Hana to say hello?” Says Arkan.
“Yeah… you know, I got a strange aura when I saw Hana. Oh, no offense, but It's just that she seems closed off, doesn't want to be disturbed kind of vibe" Tomi explained to Arkan.
No way, I'm actually like that? So all this time I was the one who made it difficult for myself to talk to other people.
"Well, you're not wrong" Arkan agreed. Even Arkan also justifies???
"I see, that's how people see me, huh?" I answered shortly.
Tomi continues his talk, “How do you explain it, huh? First of all, you look so unapproachable. You don't seem to care about your surroundings and just gaze ahead of you. Second, as Arkan said 'If you want to be greeted, you have to start'. I don't know why it's so hard for you to talk to other people, but you have to start first”.
“That's right, Hana” Chika suddenly spoke. “You have to talk to other people first, then other people will feel comfortable with you. For example, like when you just came to class. You finished introducing yourself but no one is speaking to you at the time, right? Honestly, it looks a little pathet-“.
A sudden shadow figure flashes before my eyes and a very strong wind passes me that came from the direction of Arkan.
"What if I tape your whiny mouth that doesn't know any attitude, hah?!".
S-Scary! Arkan, scary!
A-Amazing! Arkan is suddenly beside me, covering Chika's mouth with his hand. Chika's rival is as impressive as her...
Meanwhile, Chika keep trying to say something, but with Arkan holding her mouth shut, I couldn't understand a single word. But based on the look on her face, she really is scared by his kidnapper's action.
"W-Well looks like I have to try a little harder" I said to lighten the mood.
"Yeah, if you need help, you can come to us. Heck, you can even rely on our useless President a little" Arkan said while seriously holding Chika's face, trying to close her mouth completely.
"HUMF, HUMMFFF", Chika who feels insulted is trying to say something, but she couldn't because Arkan is still closing her mouth.
“Huh, you said something?” Arkan said in a threatening tone. It's Chika's loss this time.
All of a sudden, Arkan's words came into my mind and rang a bell inside it.
'if you need help, you can come to us', huh?
I turn my face to Arkan who is looking at me with a smile, then one at a time to Chika whose mouth is locked up, and finally to Tomi who is also smiling.
I stand up, then slightly bows half of my body. "Please, give me your assistance for today, and the future".
Everyone was a bit surprised by what I did so suddenly.
"Hahaha, well, here we go again" Arkan said briefly.
...
"Oh yea, did any of you by any chance have finished last week's math homework? If so, let me copy it, please. Mine is getting left out at my house" Said Arkan while he was standing up.
...
"Eh?".
"Eh?" Chika's and Tomi's voice is in perfect rhyme. Don't tell me they're...
