Will heard that voice and froze. The voice sounded as if it belonged to a sinister devil.
"Who are you? Can you hear what I am thinking." Will thought to himself after he took some time to still his thoughts.
"I have always been able to hear your thoughts and view your memories." The voice replied with a laugh that would freeze quicksilver.
Will's blood froze and he nearly puked blood. Just what is this thing? What does it want with me?
"That is not nice of you Will. Didn't your 'parents' ever tell you it was rude to refer to a person as a thing." The being replied with a hint of sarcasm.
Will slowly regained his thoughts as he realized he was in no danger. What should I call you then? Will thought to himself as he slowly walked to Blenheim's entrance and slowly followed the road to the dark zone.
You may refer to me as Kapo." Kapo replied as he chuckled which led to Will Shivering.
Why are you in my head Kapo. Will thought as he was even more confused.
"What gave you the idea that I am just in your head? I am closer to you than watch you think!" Kapo said as he broke into laughter.
What do you mean? Do you know why I am so different? Will "asked" Kapo as he grew excited.
"I do but the current you are just too weak to know," Kapo replied with another terrifying laugh.
Will grew excited as he finally had a lead. It was his first chance at finding out where he came from.
When will I be able to learn more? Will asked Kapo as he grew even more excited.
"As soon as you are able to control your current strength then I will teach you how to increase your strength. First, continue to the "dark zone" and then I will show you how to control your powers." Kapo replied as he went silent.
Will continued on to the dark zone with a bag of his meager possessions. He walked until the road turned to gravel and then walked into the forest until the sunset. He then climbed into a tree where he napped until morning.
Okay, what do I do now? Will asked Kapo as he hopped out of the tree.
"The first thing you need to do is make a base," Kapo said with a chuckle as he realized how naïve Will was.
Why would I need to do that? Will asked as he was completely confused.
"We will be here for many months and how do you expect to train and gain control over your powers if you can't remain alive," Kapo said as he went silent again.
A base? what kind of structure should I make? Should I just dig a cave or something? Ugh, I will just make a simple cabin. Will thought as he unsheathed his swords.
"I'm sorry for what I am about to do," Will told his swords affectionately as he began to use them to make a clearing near a mountainside. He chopped down trees until his arms grew tired and then he continued. He then began to make measurements and began making the walls but it kept falling down.
"I give up, I'll make the floors first," Will said as he sighed.
He then made the floor, it took him all day. He spent most of the day splitting the logs he chopped down. The next day he made the first wall which took the entire day for him to come up with a way for it to stay up. It took him another two days to finish his little cabin. He hunted monsters during the evening for food, it took him a bit to get used to going without his mothers cooking.
Kapo what do I need to do now? Will thought as he sat in the makeshift bed he made from monster furs.
"You need to work on your control, not to mention you still have yet to fully unlock the celestial system." Kapo "said" with a sigh.
Wait, you know about the celestial system! Will asked Kapo in shock.
"Yes, and before you ask how I will just tell you. I am nowhere in your body but I am inside of your soul. We are not from this dimension. " Kapo said as he waited for Will to digest this information.
Will was in complete shock and distress. All this time Will thought he was different but he did not think he was an "alien".
"Don't despair. You are a superior being from another plane of existence. You should feel pride in your origin!" Kapo said as he was extremely enraged by Will.
Did I come from another dimension? why? Why am I here? Are there others like me? Will become even more confused as he calmed down.
"Alas, you are the last of the celestials. The divine dimension was destroyed and your parents used the last of their strength to send you here." Kapo said with a deep sigh.
So, I am still alone. Will thought with despair.
"Are you an idiot? You have many friends and family here in this dimension and yet you claim to be alone." Kapo said as he tried to keep his temper.
That may be true but a duck surrounded by swans will always be alone. Will thought as he tried to stay calm.
"I think you said that backward but if you don't want to be "alone" then you need to repopulate," Kapo said with a chuckle.
You mean . . .
"Yeah, but you need to get stronger and to completely unlock the celestial system, but it is sealed inside of your soul and you need to pass challenges to unlock certain parts," Kapo said as he tried not to chuckle.
Challenges? Sealed in my soul? Why are things so complicated? And what was with that creature in that dream? Was it you? Will asked Kapo as he stood up and left the cabin and walked to the small mountain.
"Well, that was my fault. I accidentally loosened one of the seals and a Kyojū got out. Sorry about that." Kapo said with a chuckle as if the entire thing was a joke.
Wait there are more of those things? Will said as he froze while he went to sit on the fur piles he stacked on the mountain.
"There are a lot more and that was actually one of the weaker of the demons locked in your soul," Kapo said as he listened for Will to ask questions.
Weaker demons, locked in my soul? Will asked as he was the most confused that he had been to be in his entire life.
"There are demons locked up in your soul that are strong enough to destroy this planet with a snap of their fingers. Yet, those are not the strongest ones locked up in your soul." Kapo said with a chuckle as he watched Will fall of the fur pile with a yelp.
Will stood up in a daze. Just what is with life? Why is mine so messed up? Just why did the gods of luck hate me so bad? Did my ancestors start a feud with them or what is to blame for my luck?
"Ha, if you asked your uncle that he would slap you silly," Kapo said with a laugh.
Wait, my uncle is the god of luck?
"Yes. What did you expect? You are the son of the monarchs of heaven, the blood of the celestials run through your veins. Now time to move on to the first soul lock." Kapo said with a sigh.
Alright, let's move on to the first soul lock. What do I need to do to begin this challenge? How long will this take?
