Will was able to return home after they did a few tests and concluded that he was fine. He went straight to his room and lied on his bed and thought of what happened. What was that thing and why did it act like it new me? Why did it say that I would regret my choice? What promises were they exactly? I need to be strong enough to prepare for whatever that Fox was trying to warn me about. Will ended up with more questions than he began with the more he thought about it. At least they didn't ask what happened? Will thought as he recalled why he made that terrible joke. At least they will not ask about what happened for a while. Will thought as he fell asleep.
Will awoke many times throughout. All he dreamed of was the endless darkness and their promises. By the time he woke up, he was tempted to accept their promises just to get a peaceful nights sleep. Will woke up and checked his alarm. Will had two weeks and three day's until the tournament began. Will continued boosted his training and barely slept. He started sparring matches at the academy. The students began to line up in the gym just for Will to fight them without any weapons. Kyle started to become concerned about how much the students were paying attention to their lessons.
"Will, I need to talk to you about the spars," Kyle said one day as he approached Will.
"Sure, what is it?" Will asked as he sat down. The students still haven't been able to make him get serious even without his swords.
"Well, the thing is, aren't your spares taking up the students class time? Some of the instructors came to me about issues with their students skipping" Kyle said with a sigh as he sat next to Will in the gym.
"Well, why don't I teach a class?" Will said as he looked at Kyle.
"What do you mean?" Kyle asked as he looked at Will confused.
"I will turn my random spars into an actual class for students to get combat experience. They can spar against me and gain insight into their training. They could then ask their instructors any questions they have after the spars." Will said as he looked at Kyle.
"That is an excellent idea. They could then turn their theoretical knowledge into actual combat experience." Kyle said excitedly.
"Technically it isn't actual combat experience. Real combat is were both wheres put their lives on the line to give it their all." Will said with a sigh.
"That is true, but I like for my students to actually be alive," Kyle said with a chuckle.
"That's too bad. They're less yappy when they are dead." Will said with an even louder chuckle causing the students he recently fought to scurry out of the gym.
Kyle made the announcement for Will's class that evening, over one hundred students signed up for it. Will walked home like usual and had dinner with his parents like usual, or semi-usual.
"So Will, are you excited about teaching your first class," Melany said with a smile as she looked at Will.
"Hun, it isn't really a class. Will is just pummeling some students who enjoy defeat." Shawn said with a laugh and soon Will joined him.
"Try to take it easy on them a little bit," Melany said as she shook her head and continued eating.
Will finished eating and went to sleep without checking the celestial system.
He woke up and ate his breakfast as fast as possible so that he could be early for his first class. He drew some stares for being out at dawn and running to the academy but no more than he usually does. He made it to the gym were his first class was waiting on him. How? I am sure the sun was still rising when I went through the front gate. Will thought as he counted all thirty-two of his first-period class.
"All right, I am sure you all know who I am so I will now take attendance," Will said as he began calling out the students names that were on his roster.
"Okay time to go over what we will be doing in this class," Will said as his tails started wagging. The class started laughing.
"We will mostly be doing individual spars, student versus student. I will be giving advice to those who are sparring. We will also have a special spar, you all will fight me at the same time." Will said as his tails started wagging harder.
" Sir, are you serious?" A student who raised his hand asked.
"Yes James, I am serious. You all will need every bit of experience you can get for the upcoming tournament." Will said as he looked at James, who was the student who raised his hand.
"Yes, sir!" All of Will's students responded as they looked at Will.
Will began splitting them up into pairs and had them fight in a miniature tournament that Will concocted.
"The winner of the tournament will get to ask me for any advice that they need. They will also be able to make a single request that I will fulfill if I can." Will said as he walked to the side of the gym to were he wouldn't be in the way. Unknown
to the students, there were a few instructors who had a free period who came to watch Will's class in the bleachers. Kyle also joined the instructors watching Will's mini-tournament.
"Begin," Will said as he joined Kyle in the bleachers and watched those he paired up to begin to spar.
"That was an amazing idea for a reward," Kyle said with a smile as he watched the students fight.
"I got the idea from your gauntlet so stop complimenting yourself, you weirdo," Will responded as he wrote down who won and lost the first round.
The students finished the first round and Will gave them a five-minute breather before pairing them up in groups of two again for round two.
"Begin," Will said as he joined Kyle once more.
"This is great for the instructors here to see their students' understanding of their lessons," Kyle said as he stared intently at the sixteen students in round two.
"I'm curious, will you fulfill any request that you are given?" Kyle said with a chuckle as he looked at Will.
"Yes, I will," Will said with a smile as he looked at how much effort his students were putting in.
The second round ended faster than the first. His students could barely stand when Will told them to take a five-minute break as he began to pair them up again.
This time Will paired them up in groups of four.
"Begin," Will said again as he rejoined Kyle.
"Things just keep getting interesting," Kyle said as he watched the fight.
"Let's see how well they do this time," Will said with a dark chuckle as he sat down.
"You have two and a half minutes," Will said as he grouped them into two pairs to face each other.
"Begin," Will said as he joined Kyle once more.
"You keep getting rougher and rougher," Kyle said with a deep laugh.
"Diamonds are made with pressure," Will said as he watched the fights.
The fight ended and the last two people that were still to be defeated fell to the ground.
"You two may take a minute to catch your breaths and then the final round will begin," Will said as he stood up.
The two students struggled to their feet.
"Begin," Will said as he sat down.
The last round was the shortest of them all.
"What is our request?" Will asked with a smile to the student that won, a girl that Will has seen frequently entering the library. She had long black hair, bright blue eyes and was around five foot four.
"Will you go on a date with me Will Sensei?" The girl stuttered as she could barely bring herself to look Will in the eyes.
