Chapter-18: The voice from inside

CleanWrite

Will awoke in his own bed and looked around to find himself in his room. The first thing he did was recall that dream, the thing that tortured him. All he could do was shiver as he recalled the way that things very aura itself wanted to slowly kill and torture every living thing around it. Why is the world so broken that something like that could live? How did it get into my dreams? Will it happen again? Will was terrified of the chances of that thing appearing again. What am I going to do? Will recalled the lightning that fell around him like rain. Kyle is going to kill me! Will thought as he struggled to his feet and walked downstairs.

Will barely walked into the kitchen when he was frozen solid by the stares he was given. Shawn and Melany struggled to their feet and dragged Will into their arms, while Kyle stared at Will as if he was looking at a psychopath that had decorated a birthday party with the intestines of children and the pelts of innocent puppies. If Will's parents weren't there it would hard to estimate what Kyle would have done if he was alone with Will, he may have run and hid under the kitchen table or just dropped onto the floor into the fetal position because every time he looked at Will he couldn't help but recall the lightning that poured from the sky . Shawn looked up to see what Kyle was doing and noticed his odd facial expression.

"Son, what exactly happened in the gym?" Shawn asked as he looked the most serious that Will has ever seen him before.

"I don't know. First I felt tired and decided to take a nap before my next class and then there was this terrible dream . . . . I thought that . . . . " Will trailed off as he recalled the terrible being that made him feel that it could annihilate his entire family and everyone he holds dear with just a single breath. He also could never forget its laugh, one that could cause someone to feel a sharp jagged blade pressed against their throat.

"It's okay Will, it was nothing but a dream," Shawn said as he and Melany held him tighter. Melany slowly buried her head into Shawn so that Will wouldn't see the tears that ran down her face, but as she did he arms never left Will.

"We need to find out what exactly happened. If this were to happen again but not in an empty gym but a packed classroom then the results would be disastrous." Kyle said with a grave face.

"What are we going to do?" Melany asked in a frail voice.

"Will, I am going to have to ask you to avoid other people except for your parents and me until we can solve this threat,"

Kyle said as he slowly raised his head to look at Will in the eyes the first time since the incident.

"What do you mean?" Will asked with a slight stutter. The look that Kyle gave him was not one of security, comfort or affection but complete and utter fear.

"It would be safest for you to remain at home. No, it would be best for you to get as far away from the town residences as possible." Kyle said with a shudder as he recalled the entire gym being destroyed in an instance.

"Where would we possibly go?" Melany asked in a voice that sounded on the verge of collapse.

"I don't mean all of you, it would be best for everyone if Will was away from everyone so that he wouldn't have to worry about harming anyone," Kyle said with a voice that sounded extremely strained.

"But last time Will was away he almost didn't come back!" Melany said with her temper that has been suppressed for many years finally rising to the surface.

"Melany calm down! Let's hear Will's opinion on this first." Shawn said as he shocked both Kyle and Melany into silence, it was the first real outburst that Shawn had.

"I agree with what Kyle said," Will said with a straight face.

"But what if you don't. . . ." Melany said as she began to sob.

"Mom, I will come back," Will said with as much resolution as he could muster. He then began and finished his breakfast with an expression that wouldn't waver even if he witnessed the heavens fall in front of him.

"Where will you go?" Melany said as she stopped Will from going to his room as Kyle and Shawn stopped talking to listen.

"I am going to pack my bags for now and come up with something later," Will said with a smile that reassured them as he walked upstairs. But little did they know as soon as Will walked into his room, he faceplanted on his bed and sobbed into his pillow until he fell asleep. He awoke to his mom shaking him.

"Will, are you okay?" Melany asked as she stared at him as if he would fly away the moment she looked away.

"I was just exhausted from yesterday and overestimated myself," Will said lightly.

"When do you think you will leave?" Melany asked as Shawn entered the room.

"As soon as possible, that way there will be fewer dangers," Will said with a deep sigh as he began to pack his things.

"We will always be here for you son," Shawn said as he and Melany both started to cry.

Will finished gathering his things at home and made his way to the academy to gather the rest of the few items he owns. He arrived at a deserted academy, he continued to his office and gathered everything except for the drones, those he left for the students of the academy who needed it more than him. He made his way back to the campus gates were he was suddenly surrounded by the students of the academy.

" Good Luck headmaster."

" We will miss you"

"Hurry up and get better so that you can instruct us."

Will was overwhelmed as the students cleared out a path and sent him off. He was stopped at the gate by one person, Sara McGonagall.

"I will always be here for you Will, so you better get better soon or else I may have surpassed you by then and forcefully take you back," Sara said with a fierceness that Will had never seen before. He was so stunned that he was unable to move as she walked over and kissed as Will fell further into the daze.

"Headmaster if you don't hurry and come back then we will have no choice but to come to get you." One female student said as others slowly repeated her words and stepped forward. Will was only able to regain his wits as he clenched his fist and drew Sara into a deep embrace.

"I will never leave you. Even if I am forced to crawl over a mountain of swords just to get a glimpse of you then I will. If I have to go through a hundred years of purgatory just to hear your voice then I will. If I have to live a living death to be by your side then I Will because I love you, Sara." Will said as he returned the kiss that she graced him with.

With that Will left the academy and began to leave the town that had been a part of him for most of his life. I will endure anything as long as those I care about are safe. Will thought to himself as he left the city. "You should not say anything that you will soon regret. By the time you are able to return you will wish that you were dead or died the moment you were born." A dark and sinister voice resounded within Will's mind causing him to tremble and filled his heart with dread.

Just what is going on . . . . .
