After the day of annihilation, that was the name people came up with to call that dark day. Just mentioning that name brought horror to the faces of the people who had lived through that period in history. The day of annihilation wasn’t just the ending of the sequence, that was the day that marked just the beginning. Many people have been lost to the monsters and many heroes were born.

Roughly 80 years ago there was once a day when highly ranked awakeners from all over the world had to join their hands together so that they could defeat a monster and its army. At that time for the first time a monster with a name appeared, the monster was also highly intelligent and had learned to speak human languages in no time. People believe it came from a gate some believe that it spawned from dungeons but no one knows exactly where that thing appeared.

Although the monster appeared to have learned the human language, but the creature had a lot of pride. The monster had made a kingdom of its own on an unoccupied land, people knew that fighting the monster would cost a lot of life. So, after many days of discussion, everyone decided to try to become allies with the monster.

The monster had also gone straight to an uninhabited land, to make that territory their own without fighting others. So, people thought that the monster was someone they could reason with or negotiate with. There were other cases where monsters and humans negotiated and made pacts, so everyone was hopeful.

Unfortunately for everyone, the monster whose name was Abyssal Drake was not someone who had any interest in negotiating with the humans. Once representatives of all of the countries were sent to the Drake, some came bearing a present some just came empty-handed. One thing was common for everyone though they all wanted to bring the drake onto their side. Everyone ironically wanted the drake to fight the monsters that attack the world constantly.

Seeing them, the drake just laughed. Everyone became silent after hearing such bone-chilling laughter. But that wasn’t all people were startled once they heard what the drake had to say about their proposal.

“Join hands with you weak and pathetic humans? KAKAKAKAKA Don’t make me laugh Just roll on the ground and become my subordinate, I shall guarantee your safety with my own life.” Said the Drake charismatically, for some reason, some of the people present on the scene were persuaded by the Drake’s words instantly.

“You think we will just bend over to your wishes? How many soldiers do you even have to be so conceited? What about 1000, 2000, or 5000? If we want to, we can raise a real army and trample all over you. Don’t forget your place you damn monster.” Yelled one of the representatives who was present on the scene.

“Army of ants are still ants they don’t become something else; you people are weak and will remain weak. So just bow down to me fast, there is a limit to my magnanimity. You better not test my limits.” Siad the Drake as it scoffed without changing his expression, the drake stood up.

The dragon suddenly screeched loudly, and the people who were standing in front of the drake didn’t even understand what had happened as they just felt a sudden burst of hot air passing by them. But there were some lucky few who said what exactly happened, they saw a huge flame engulfing the people inside of them. When the flames disappeared there was nothing left, not even a single bone only dust remained of those humans.

“KAKAKAKAKA….” Suddenly a burst of laughter spread throughout the entire place.

“Those who survived go give my message to all of the humans.” That was all the drake said as it flew away with its subordinates.

That incident marked the beginning of the war which was very similar to the day of annihilation. Every country that had any kind of disputes amongst each other forgot all of those, as they joined their hands for the fight against the fearsome drake.

Many people believed that humans would defeat the drake and its army in no time as all of the top awakeners were joining hands. But in the end that was not as easy as it sounded, the Drake army was very powerful they started attacking cities, buildings, etc. wherever they could see humans they destroyed that place. Many of the awakeners had a hard time as Drake’s army never wanted to fight face to face, they just went for normal civilians. There was nothing the awakeners could do as the drake’s speed and agility were on a different level.

On that day humans lost a lot of people, but a few heroes also stood out from the rest of them 6 of them to be exact. They had changed the course of the war on their own, each of them had killed hundreds of members of Drake’s army. They had become a nuisance for Drake so he even offered them power in return for their betrayed humanity. But the offer was outright rejected by all of them.

Even though Drake’s army was being pushed back, it didn’t stop their attack one last bit. The attacks continued to intensify and the death toll just kept rising. The war continued for about 5 days and night, on the last day one of the brave 6 taunted the drake to get its attention. Drake should have not responded at all but its pride came in the way.

They both started fighting it out one on one, and when they fought all of the battlefield became quiet. Drake’s army stopped attacking and the humans also stopped their attack, everyone just watched the two monsters fight each other with bated breath. Everyone was distracted by their fight as the fight between the two was just too flashy.

Both of them were giving their all to fight the opponent, but at one glance if a normal person saw the fight, they would think both of them were equally matched, however, that was far from the actual case. Anyone with experience would have been able to tell that the drake still had a slight bit of upper hand against the man. Even though the man fighting the drake was using a lot of fire resistance items, he was still getting burned in places from time to time. The fire of the drake was just too overpowering for the items.

The fight between both of the titans continued for a long time, but by the end of the fight the human was badly burnt, he had lost one of his legs, and his hand’s flesh was almost gone. His body had mostly turned black like charcoal. Even after suffering through so much pain, he was still going strong.

Seeing the fighting spirit of the man who was one step away from his grave, even the drake felt a sense of fear. Even though he had become exhausted by now, he also had many huge gaping cuts on his body made by the man. But none of the cuts were in any way life-threatening. Everyone present had their breath taken away by the fight of these two warriors.
