*TSPGoF*

It had been at least 2 days ever since they had started travelling together, they were currently finding a town of sorts for them to sleep in, but that was mostly Maxi wanting to do so. There was one time when Winter was exhausted to the point of being unable to move, but that was because they had depleted their magic essence. Why? Because they were using it in order to keep their body temperatures cooler. Due to Glacier Hounds having a large amount of magic essence, they were able to use their abilities so that they can defend themselves against elements that they have a lower resistance to, but it only lasts for a while. If depleted, they would weaken and possibly die from heat strokes.

Luckily, Maxi was able to create mana potions to refill Winter's magic essence. Though drinking potions may get them sick, it will only last for a few minutes, so they took short breaks every once in a while.

They had also encountered another..... well, another monster, a strange one at that..

Speaking of which...

"OH BOY! WITH YOU GUYS AROUND, I FEEL SO HAPPY! ARE YOU HAPPY!? I'M HAPPY! HAHAHA LOOK AT ME, I'M SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!"

Even though it/he was quite lively, it/he was talking for non-stop for hours upon hours. It had irritated Maxi to no end.

"Will you shut up for once!?" Shouted Maxi.

"Arf Arf!" Even Winter seems to agree.

The monster, surprised by his loud voice, shivered in fear.

"HIIIII! O-OKAY SIR, I'LL SHUT UP! I-I'M SHUTTING UP RIGHT NOW! YOU CAN SEE IT RIGHT, R-RIGHT SIR!?"

*sigh* "Nevermind..." Said Maxi, already giving up for what seemed like the 4th time that he was trying to silence the loud creature.

Anyways, he had recalled that time when he met the monster along the road:

Flashback:

They had found a dirt path not too long ago, so they had started walking from there without second thoughts, they didn't want to end up wandering aimlessly without some sort of direction to follow, so they simply strode along that road.

It was all peaceful and quiet, until they encountered something unusual.

It was a bit short in stature, reaching only up to Maxi's waist. Its green blob-like transparent body was jiggling with every movement. It had short, yet massive hands as well as two black dots that served as eyes.

"Another one, huh?" Thought Maxi.

It was another familiar creature to him, it had clicked within his mind its own name:

The monster was a Worker Type - [Handy Slime].

Though monsters are generally less intelligent than the main races that had established their own countries, some were smart enough to form tribes and create settlements, as well having the ability to talk. There were four types of these monsters:

Worker type,

Soldier type,

Common type,

and Unique type.

Worker types are monsters that have knowledge in creating tools and buildings. They can also gather food or items.

Soldier types are the main attackers or defensive units, specializing more in combat.

Common types do not have any sort of build, but they can evolve into either worker or soldier types depending on how they lived their lives, though they cannot evolve into Unique types.

Unique types are more of a rare sub-species, born with special abilities or talents, they can choose a wide array of classes, similar to the five races, and are geniuses on their specialized field of work.

When the slime had seen the both of them, it stared hard for a while, seemingly more so to Maxi, its dotty eyes widened in fright.

"AHHH! A HUMAN! HE'S GONNA KILL ME! ARE YOU GONNA KILL ME!? YOU'RE GONNA KILL ME RIGHT!?" Shouted the green blob with a scared pose.

"Err.."

Even when there was no mouth, it still spoke with a clear voice.

'This is definitely weird for me, even if I'm seeing this right now, no one else would believe this..' Thought Maxi.

He had wanted to think that he was in another world, especially inside his story, but it was too sudden for him to say it. He didn't really fit much with normal people, as he was very weird. Even though he accepts the fact that he doesn't act or think much like a normal person would, it was still unreal right?

Also, why was this slime just running circles around them while shouting a high-pitched scream with its arms flailing in the sky?

Winter's ears winced from the loud noise, they seemed to be annoyed by the monster.

This was too weird.... He didn't even think that he made a character in the story like this one...

He tried calming it down, saying that he was friendly.

"Relax relax! I won't hurt you! I'm not like the others.." Said Maxi to the frightened slime.

"AHHHHHH!! WAIT..... YOU WON'T KILL ME?" Questioned the slime, thought it was still shouting.

"Uh, yes..?"

"..........LIAR! YOU'RE GONNA KILL ME! YOU'RE GONNA KILL ME LIKE THE REST OF THEM!"  Again, shouted the slime.

Maxi sighed. Well, he was right about one thing,

Even when these kinds of monsters are very sentient and can be considered "people", they are not exempted from being hunted down by adventurers and travellers alike.

Really, after seeing this, it made Maxi feel guilty for making them like this, even if it was for the story...

With a good amount of resolve, he tried his best to calm it again.

"Please, I'm not like one of them... In fact," He put off a smile, trying to look as friendly as possible. "I hate killing in general."

As an ordinary (not quite) person, it was a fact that he didn't like killing. But if no other options seem viable enough, then he would have no choice in that matter and do it only if he thinks deems it is necessary.

The slime froze in thought, and stared at him.

"W-WHAT?" The slime said, confused in what he was going to say. Did it believe him? Or did it not think that someone from the main races would say something like that?

"Its true," Said Maxi. "I have no intention of hurting you or anyone of your friends, I wouldn't want any of that to happen. Especially someone who seems friendly like you." 

"Arf Arf!" Barked Winter who seemed to agree, though they were still angry about earlier.

"WOAH! ARE YOU SERIOUS!? THIS GUY!?" The slime said in surprise, though it was talking to Winter.

Maxi was not surprised that it understood Winter, he made all monsters capable of understanding each other, no matter how different they would be.

"Arf!" Winter was happily wagging their tail, were they convincing the slime that he was nice somehow?

They continued barking, and at the same time doing...gestures?

"UN-UNBELIEVABLE..." Said the slime, who seemed to look at Maxi in a new light. Did Winter successfully managed to make the slime calm down?

The slime spoke up a bit. "UMM.. HEY..."

"Yeah?" Said Maxi.

"D-DID YOU REALLY HELPED THEM OUT W-WHEN THEY WERE S-STUCK IN A FOREST?" Questioned the slime.

'So that was what....' Thought Maxi. Seemed like Winter gave it quite the explanation.

Monsters would also stay far away from the main races due to them being killed off by them all the time, but because of Maxi, Winter seemed to have befriended him. That was why the slime felt easily believed, because it saw the truthfulness that glinted in Winter's eyes, the joy that it felt when it had someone to trust when it was all alone and lost.

"Yeah... I couldn't leave them alone, they would have faced terrible things if I did, and I would feel bad for that." Said Maxi. He only said the truth, he was truly glad that he helped them out. Though he never thought of it at first when he met them, he felt genuinely proud of himself for doing what he did.

"Arf!" Winter barked, they felt happy for what he said.

"...."

The slime was stuck in thought, it seemed to be stressed out.

It finally spoke...

"H-HEY, I-IF YOU'RE REALLY SAYING THE T-TRUTH, THEN.... W-WOULD YOU H-HELP ME ON SOMETHING?" Asked the slime.

"Sure what is it?"

"I-I'M ACTUALLY LOST TOO"

"I see-wait what really?"

"Y-YEAH AND I WANT TO FIND MY WAY B-BACK HOME, YOU SEE.."

The slime explained, it seemed to have been out here gathering items, in fact, it was it/his first time going outside his village, as he had spent most of his life working inside, helping lots of his brethren. Due to his excitement, he seemed to have went off in another direction other than his companions, because that, they were found by other people, and were all slaughtered. Due to that, he seemed to have fled as fast as he can from the horrible scene.

"I-I FELT SO BAD ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED, I-I NEVER KNEW THEM WELL, BUT I KNEW THAT THEY MEANT ONLY GOOD THINGS FOR ME, T-THAT IS WHY I WANT TO GO BACK AND TELL THEM ALL THE T-TRUTH." 

"That some group of people killed your companions?"

"Y-YEAH, AND T-THAT IT WAS M-MY FAULT THAT THEY DIED."

"..."

"ITS FINE YOU KNOW? I-I CAN FIND MY OWN WAY, S-SOMEHOW-"

"No." He interrupted the slime.

"W-WHAT?"

"No, as someone who hates violence, I can't stand seeing other people die when I actually have a chance to save them... We'll go help you."

"Arf!"

"B-BUT, WERE MONSTERS.."

"So?"

"HUH?"

"What if you are monsters? You have feelings right? Emotions? You're all like any other person, and if other people are too blind, and disregard these things about you.."

Maxi balled up his fists and held it close to his chest.

"Then they aren't people at all."

"......"

"We're all friends here, that's a promise."

Maxi held his fist out to the slime.

The slime, who was shaking his fists, was hesitating to answer.

"Also.."

".....W-WHAT?"

"Don't say its your fault, we all make mistakes. Carry those feelings with you, and learn from them."

Maxi, who was still in place, was waiting for a response.

"I-I.."

The slime raised his hand,

"I WILL.... THANK YOU."

And connected them with Maxi's.... It was a promise that he, both of them, will fulfill.

"Hehe... I also forgot..."

Both lowered their fists, as Maxi said a few words:

"My name's Maxi, what's yours?"

The slime responded:

"..I'M SEMIL."

Another bond had been made again.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Currently:

It had taken a while, but Semil the slime had finally opened up to both of them. It was kinda annoying, but they were glad that he was finally being himself, if this is how he really was.

"HEY HEY! DID YOU KNOW!? SLIMES ARE SUUPERR FLEXIBLE! THEY CAN STRETCH THEIR BODIES SUUPERR FAR! THOUGH- THEY SAY I'M NOT REALLY LIKE THAT...."

Sometimes, he would just be very hyper and jolly... Then after a few seconds his mood deflates suddenly and starts pouting for some reason, he is truly a weird slime.

But hey, Maxi and Winter were smiling at his crazy antics. It was good to have such an energetic company with them.

"Hey, Semil."

"HMM? YES SIR?"

Though he was being himself now, he called Maxi "Sir", he didn't really feel exactly comfortable being called as such, but Semil insisted. He said that they WERE helping him after all. He was taught by older slimes to be give respect to kind monsters, or kind human for that matter, so he couldn't really have it any other way.

"Can you keep it down, just a little bit?"

"YEAH!........ "

.

"IS THIS RIGHT??!!"

Though Maxi sighed again, this time, he was happy now.

No matter how abnormal the situation is right now, he couldn't mope around and panic all day about everything.

Besides, he never got to enjoy much being at his apartment, so he wanted to indulge in the little things right now.

Wherever he was, he was glad the mood helped him a bit.

He just hopes that nothing bad would happen later...
