"Is something wrong?"
"....."
"Come on, speak up."
"..I want to write a novel too!"
"....What you made you say that?"
"Well, uh I-I-"
"Did you really want to write a novel, and not have a reason on why you're intending to do it?"
"C-Come on! You know why!"
"Huh?"
"I-I... I want to write it for you! You write so many of them, you would read some for me when I felt sad, and they were so amazing that I felt happy again! That's why, when I finish making one, I can read it to you too, to make you happy!"
"......Maxi,"
"Uh, yeah?"
A gentle smile flashes across the man's face.
"I'm looking forward to your story."
The boy's expression turned into surprise, and almost instantly, changed into bright glee.
"You won't regret waiting dad!"

..
...
"...."
Maxi's eyes slowly open, slightly tired. He still felt a bit sleepy, so he closed them again,
'Huh?'
But somehow, he felt a grassy texture beneath his hands, as well as a bright glare directed to his corneas. He also felt his body was sprawled on the ground. He couldn't have fell from his chair right? But why was he feeling this sort of sensation telling him that it doesn't seem like it?
'......!?'
As he slowly got up into a sitting position, the view in front of him made his eyes snapped open wide. If his face had shown any sign of sleepiness, it was instantly replaced with confusion, shock, and fear mixed together.
"Where am I!?"
He shouted, but nobody was present to hear it nor to respond to it. He heard nothing but his own voice, and the seemingly peaceful sound of nature.
Through his slightly unusual eyes, he saw a large area of grass and trees that surrounded him. He also noticed that he was in a higher terrain because of how the wind felt slightly strong, and how far the view seemed to him. Was he on a large hill perhaps?
He was greatly shocked, but had slightly calmed down so he can gather his thoughts and clear his mind. He wanted to know where he was, and why he was here.
'Where the hell am I? Where the hell is here!? Could it be a dream? No no no, it doesn't feel like it. Was I kidnapped, perhaps drugged? That's the most logical thing I could think of, but I don't even know where they sent me, I don't even think it would be worth it to leave me here. Damn....'
He was confused, at first he thought of this to be a dream, but denied it shortly afterwards. He also denied the act of him being kidnapped/drugged, as he didn't even see a sign of human life, or any form of life at all.
Also, his apartment was located in a city interconnected with roads that lead to other cities, as well as a few towns . It's almost impossible to find any forest as big as this near it. Even if one would drive a vehicle, it would take at least a day or two to find a large forest in the vicinity. He didn't even feel sick or hungry at all, so it didn't seem to be much of a possibility.
So the two biggest questions he is facing right now is: Where is he? And how can he go back?
"Ah, forget it. I'll have to assess where I am first, and figure out question #2 later."
Although he is still a bit shocked, he is mostly calmed down. After all, he always believed that being calm can help solve more issues than just panicking. But he was still slightly scared.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
As he slowly got up to stand, he noticed two familiar things near him: A mechanical pen, and a notebook.
"Huh? Why are these here?"
He questioned in his mind as he bent down slightly to pick them up. There's no doubt about it, they're all his. The pen was black in color, and had had a golden trim in the tip and in the bottom, the cap was also black. The notebook was slightly bigger than a normal one. It's color was a darkish grey, and had a strange symbol embedded in the middle. The symbol consisted a thin golden circle, and inside of it, was an unusual plus sign. (not a cross by the way.)
The pen and notebook were things Maxi recieved during his time as a kid. He didn't know when or why he got it, but they were very precious to him. The only reason he didn't react much was because of the absurd situation his common sense tried to analyze.
But, he was glad that these two things that stuck with him for so long still remained in his hold.
As more questions began forming in his head, he firmly held his objects of happiness on his right hand, and started moving.
"Well, I better start trekking down this hill first. It's the first important thing I have to do, then after that is finding out where I hell I am."

"How big is this forest!?"
Maxi had been walking through the forest for at least 30 minutes. He was sure he would have already been outside after at least 10 minutes of continuous movement, but that was not the case.
Wherever he was, he was sure to be very far away from his apartment/home.
"This is larger than any forest I've ever seen in my whole life! Though I never actually been outside much..."
He muttered to himself as he started walking in a faster pace, hoping to at least find an exit to this large maze full of trees and vines. In fact, he was so caught up on getting outside, he didn't even noticed a small, strange-looking creature in front of him.
"Ugh, this is so tiring-"
"Arf!"
"WAHHH!!"
Ah, seems he noticed it.
Maxi stumbled backwards and fell on his bottom. He was surprised by the suddenly loud sound that fell on his ears.
He groaned as his head slowly turns towards the source of the noise,
"What was tha-"
But the next few words he was about say died in his mouth.
The creature was strange-looking. Though it's appearance is similar to a wolf cub, it was still unusual. It's fur was light blue, had triangle shaped ears and a large tail that seemed fluffy to the touch. It's eyes were an even lighter blue however, and held an icy look. It's claws were black and looked diamond-like in appearance. It was quite small.
Overall, it was a delicate looking creature, and beautiful too.
However, that was not the reason why Maxi was surprised.
It looked familiar to him....very familiar.
"Wha-"
There was no doubt about it, he knew what this creature was. And it shocked him to no end.
To Maxi, this is the most unbelievable situation he has ever gotten himself into.
"I-Is that a.. [Glacier Hound] ?"
It was a creature that existed only fiction....
Existed in only a story...
A story that HE made..
It was a creature from his novel...."Liberty Hero".
.....Seems the possibility of going home is becoming more impossible.
