Hours.
It took hours for Maxi to finally calm down. By the time he realized that not a single word was written in his beloved notebook, he quickly flew in anger.
The cub had woken up earlier so he had to calm it down. Fortunately, it wasn't scared that he was shouting, nor was it angry at him for waking it up from its peaceful nap.
All those years of effort put into that notebook, was gone in almost an instant.
Not only that, it was something he had started working on because he simply wanted someone to read it, a way to say thank you after all those years...
Well, it used to be.
But that was all gone, everything. Sure he had posted most of them already on the internet, but it didn't give off a sense of accomplishment. He had wasted his precious childhood for that story to be done.
He, who had put almost everything in that notebook, had felt misery unlike any other.
His blank eyes stared at the stars that shone through the sky, it was already nighttime.
The cub was hungry by then. Luckily there was fish that swam in the pond, so it just snatched one and started eating.
It took two more fish, so it was already full. Strangely, the cub was tired again, and resumed what he was formerly doing earlier.
It must have been there for quite a while. Was it really lost, or did something happen to its pack?
He didn't care about those things right now, he had to take some time to recover after all.
He, who was always tired everyday, did not feel the need to sleep.
His things were lying on his side, should he?
He didn't know where he was the first time, but now looking at the small sleeping figure, he could take a guess. Though he would be crazy if it was right. He'll find the answer later.
For now, he opened his notebook.
The sudden loss of his work seemed to be unreal, but it would be slightly less unusual if paired next to his new acquaintance. He was still a bit angry, but he held it all in.
He stared at the blank page, seemingly lost for a few seconds before holding his pen on his left hand. He hadn't wrote anything on his notebook for years now, just doing it suddenly at this moment just seemed wrong to him.
'..What should I write?' Maxi thought in his mind.
With having no idea at all, he started thinking. He never had the time to make a fresh new story nor did he had any plans in doing one, he just stuck to writing "Liberty Hero" for awhile. Even after that, he didn't know if he even wanted to make another one.
While he was absorbed in thought, Maxi's stomach grumbled.
"Crap." He mumbled.
Maxi didn't notice that he was hungry until now, he was dead starving.
He could catch the fishes from the pond, but he didn't know how to set up a campfire. He thought of eating it raw, but that just made him want to eat cooked food more. He could scavenge for some, but he was worried for the sleeping cub. Being a lazy person just made him all the more discouraged.
For some reason, he started writing. He thought of the most tastiest burger he could think of, while adding details of the texture, taste and smell. He was practically drooling off his mouth, how would it actually taste like if it was real? He couldn't fathom it.
He closed his eyes and started taking deep breaths, he just can't keep his mind away from food huh? He was so hungry, he didn't notice a small flash of light that shone from his notebook, then disappearing shortly after.

He could imagine the delicious aroma wafting through the air, mmm yummy..
It's as if he could smell it right now.
"W-Wait, a-am I,"
Maxi's face scrunched up in confusion, has his sense of smell gotten disoriented? Has he finally gotten crazy?
He opened his eyes. What he saw made them grow as big as saucer plates.
It was a burger. And it was sitting on top of his lap.
"I-I beg your pardon?"
Wasn't he just writing something about a burger? He looked at his notebook...
It wasn't there? The page was blank, there was no evidence of anything written there at all.
"What?" Maxi said in confusion and shock, and at the same time in slight awe.
To be honest with himself, he's already experienced so many unusual things within a short time. He just couldn't care to react anymore, though he is still freaking out on the inside about this whole thing.
And that's saying a lot for a person who looked like he had led a seemingly normal life.
'That's right, stay calm Maxi, stay calm.'
Again, he took deep breaths. Finally, he composed himself.
Did the notebook have some sort of power, or was it simply him? He didn't know what to say. Everything is so complex, he couldn't figure out anything at all.
"...Am I supposed to eat it?" He spoke hesitantly.
He wondered what a burger written from a notebook with ink tasted like. It sounded bad, but he couldn't deny that delicious aroma of food that entered his nose canal.
He put the notebook down, and grabbed the burger. He swallowed with an audible gulp,
And took a bite.
"....."
Maxi had felt something swelling up inside him, like he experienced something:
He tasted heaven.
It summed up what he was currently feeling.
'Delicious!'. He thought in bliss.
He couldn't describe in words how good it was.
The burger's flavor was enhanced by the patty's juices that flooded his mouth, his tongue was instantly seduced.
He finished everything within 15 seconds.
"Wow." Muttered Maxi.
He looked towards his notebook. It must have some sort of ability that he couldn't understand. Heck, he didn't know that it had powers in the first place.
"I guess I can solve these tomorrow, for now though.."
It was probably already late. The cub was still sleeping, it probably sleeps a lot in its past time.
Still many unanswered questions, and very few answers.
For now, he pressed his back on the trunk of the tree, and started closing his eyes. He slowly drifted to sleep.
Tomorrow is gonna be a big day for Maxi.

Chapter End.
Author: I didn't know how to describe tastes, so I had to rewrite some dialogues a bunch of times. Also, the story was a bit too slow, so I made up an excuse for Maxi to be very calm so it can progress quicker.
See if you can guess where I got the idea for the notebook's powers. I'll give you a hint, it's a popular game.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Though I'm not satisfied about it.
