Dear Readers,
First and foremost, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read what has been written so far in The Secrets of Dragons. We appreciate all feedback and have been blown away by the support we have received over the course of our postings since the very beginning. You matter to us, as writers, just as much as the characters of our story do. We take everything into account, every like and every dislike. Which is why there are couple of concerns we noted and would like to illuminate on.
A little background about this story and about the Authors:
I (Elsie) have been writing since a very young age and have never really shown anyone my work besides my sister (Sony). Sony is the magic maker here. She comes up with the ideas and we brainstorm them together. We are not related by blood, but by choice. It started as a friendship that blossomed into an amazing family. We hold each other accountable when it matters and even when it doesn’t. She is the cheese to my macaroni.
We apologize so sincerely for any time that you have had to wait between posts and chapters. We both have three children (I have three boys and Sony has three girls) that consume a lot of our time, along with husbands and full-time jobs. I, myself, struggle with depressive episodes that leave me lacking any sort of motivation. The writing itself is a lengthy process as it is still in the works. It is a three-step process that involves Sony writing down thoughts and chapters for the book, brainstorming those thoughts, and then I re-write the chapters incorporating those thoughts and ideas.
This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
We would like to politely mention a reminder that we are human and never perfect. The story itself has taken twists and turns that we weren’t prepared for, and it may seem like the basis of the story has been lost to some. We promise there is a point to every chapter that helps the overall picture start to make sense. We wrote a lot in advance, but as we finished each chapter for posting, the parts that were wrote in advance started to make less and less sense. Each chapter is written to have more of an episode feel to it, like watching a television show.
As for the writing style, neither Sony nor I are professional by any means. We try our best to correct any mistakes we see as we see them, but even now I can go back and reread chapters and realize that there are still errors that need correcting. For that, we apologize as well. Eventually, when Book One (spoiler alert) is complete, we hope to send it off for professional editing, while working together to get Book Two out.
Please be somewhat patient with us; this is our first truly written book, and we are so proud that it has even came this far and that you all have been with us since the start.
Sincerely,
Sony & Elsie
