It had been a little over a month since Mar had his little magic room incident.
The maids told the lord about the loud noise they had heard come from the young masters room, but after a thorough inspection they hadn't found anything wrong and just shrugged it off as a coincidence.
Though the maids decided to keep a closer eye on the young master from the day forward giving him even less time to train and practice in peace.
But for Mar he couldn't care less about the qualms of some servants not with the amazing discovery he had just stumbled across. He kept trying to figure out how he had cast a spell without the use of hand seals or incantation.
After going over it again and again in his head he came to the conclusion that it must have something to do with his knowledge from his previous world. Understanding the properties and the formation of the water must of had an impact on the casting process forgoing the need for hand seals or words.
To test his hypothesis he decided to try it again but this time in smaller quantity to not cause a ruckus. He went over the process again step by step, and found that he had been correct. He slowly pulled the water molecules from the air forming a small water ball in front of his hand the size of a marble. He would then let the water disperse to avoid any detection by the ever watchful maids.
With his theory proven right he decide to move on to the other basic elements as well he created little gusts of wind, flickering flames, and put together little pebbles the size of marbles together from the dust and dirt. Although he still didn't know the standards of this world, he knew that this must be extraordinary since he had never once seen any of the maids or servants use magic without hand seals or speaking.
This became his new routine whenever his family or servants placed Mar down for playtime he would manipulate his toys and discretely use this new silent magic. Alone on his little mat Mar would giggle and rejoice to himself on these new discoveries he had made.
"Oh look honey Mar sure loves those toys you bought him." Rhea said smiling at happy son. "I mean just look at him they are just some wooden horses and knights, but you would think he was commanding an army."
In the blink of an eye a year had already passed since Mar had been reborn into this world. His family had been getting ready to celebrate his first birthday. He was surprised to learn birthday's were also celebrated in this world too. Of course he never knew how that felt. Growing up he never once celebrated his birthday, to his father it was the day his wife had left this world and he always resented his son for it.
As more time passed Mar relationship with his family continued to improve so he allowed himself to use babble words around his family.
Whenever Rhea embraced him and held him he would call her "Mama", and whenever Arion came close to him he called him "Dada".
Mar decided it was in his best interested to stay on his old mans good side until he was at least strong enough to be self-sufficient.
Because of his previous experiences with father figures he was still quite fearful of Arion and its not like the two of them had a relationship to speak of anyway. Arion would always be busy with either work or something else so he left his son in the hands of his wife and daughter.
In his defense, Arion had just wrongfully assumed that Mar was too young to notice anything and that they would have plenty of time in the future to catch up and bond like he had done with his daughter.
Arion truly loved Mar and was never ceased to be amazed by him. He couldn't remember Mar crying for no reason even once not even when his teeth started to come in. Also when they let him down to crawl for the first time he knew what he could or could not touch after being told just once. At the bottom of his heart he was proud to have been blessed with such a bright boy.
Mar also grew more and more affectionate with his older sister Leah. Who would act more like a doting aunt than an older sister with him whenever she would insist on helping change him or the maids feed him.
He rewarded her love by giggling and calling her "Lulu" whenever he saw her or she came near him.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
It wasn't much but it meant the world to Leah who loved her new little brother with all her heart.
After some more time passed he began to use simple phrases and ask questions in order to complete his vocabulary. Though now that he was one year old he knew he had to step up his baby game to the next level. This caused him untold amounts of stress since he knew nothing about babies or their behavior.
This baby act was a constant struggle for Mar whose cautiousness made him terrified that he might blow his cover if he advanced too quickly. Thankfully his family were more than willing to give him "suggestions" that he was more than happy to provide.
If Rhea was eager for him to finally call her "Mommy" instead of "Mama" in a few days he would make it happen.
If Arion cheered for him to run to her instead of just crawling he'd get up and do it.
Overtime everything in the Klaus household seemed to be progressing smoothly. Which made Mar believe that it was time to launch his next operation.
Once night fell and he was put down by his mother to sleep he waited and hour before climbing over the side of his crib. It was at this moment that he put his plan into full swing, operation conquer the study was now in full effect.
Step one was already accomplished now it was time for step two. He made his way to his door and used his magic that he practiced daily to unlock it and pull it open. Next he moved down the hallway avoiding the servants who did regular patrols at night. Thankfully Mar had been memorizing their routines until he knew their schedule like the back of his hand.
After sneaking past the guards and maids he found his way to the study his mother had brought him to in the past. After using his powers to unlock the door Mar pushed his way inside. Inside he found himself once again in the large library filled to the brim with books.
Mar made a small flame appear in his hand so as to see in the dark room while he looked for the right book to read. While searching Mar stumbled upon a full body mirror that was hung from one of the walls. It was the first time Mar ever got a chance to look at himself in his new body so he went to have a look.
After he walked up to the large mirror he was surprised by what he saw. He was absolutely adorable he had dirty blond hair a combination of his parents, a cute button nose, and cold beautiful blue eyes that shone like sapphires like his mother. He didn't know how his round baby face would look in the future but he was positive he was gonna be a lady killer.
"Watch out ladies." Was all Mar could think to himself obviously happy by the discovery.
Getting refocused he continued to scour the study for the book that would serve his purposes. After about twenty minutes of looking he finally found it the type of book he had been looking for. The title read the History's and Cultures Of Altaz.
When he first was coming up with his library plan to get a better understanding of the world he was reborn into he was quite worried. Since he couldn't understand the spoken language at first he was sure he wouldn't be able to read their manuscript as well. Those fears were dispelled after getting his hands on some of his fathers files that he happened to misplace. The letters were designed differently but the rules and patterns they followed were identical to his last life's.
With that knowledge in his back pocket he quickly deciphered their alphabet and began reading to his hearts content.
From what he read this world seemed to be pretty straight forward where fortune and power determined one's position in society. It was a concept all too familiar to Mar just as it had been in his previous world in that regard this world and his last one were very similar. With the exception of course the lack of technology, and with the mana and magic instead of aura and battle arts.
In his previous world while large scale wars were almost non existent small scale firearms quickly fell out of favor with the discovery of aura and the introduction of battle arts. Guns were almost never seen in combat as a small piece of metal could never pierce an individual's body shield. Thats why most combat was done in close range with combat weapons such as vibro blades and personalized battle arts fueled by sentry and aura.
In fact most quarrels ended before they began if two regions lords or even two countries had a dispute then the lords or rulers would come forward as the champions of their domain and settle the matter in a one on one duel.
Thats why lords and rulers had to be powerful warriors they weren't fat lazy men sitting back in their warm safe castles, or on their comfortable chairs giving out orders. They were leading their men from the front lines shouldering their kingdoms honor, and protecting their citizens putting their lives on the line with every battle.
Enough about that though.
Mar continued to read he discovered that the continent he was born on was called the Altaz continent which consisted of five major kingdoms. The one he belonged to was called the Vyarian kingdom.
As he read through the history of this kingdom and he came across the economic system that the whole continent seemed to run on. It was pretty simple and straight forward system which he didn't have any complaints about.
While copper was the lowest form of currency, followed by silver, then gold, and finally platinum. While gold and platinum were reserved for the high upper class, middle class such as merchants and traders used silver, but commoner families like farmers seemed to be living just fine off of a couple of copper coins a day.
Here 100 copper=1 silver, 100 silver=1 gold, and 100 gold=1 platinum pretty simple and easy to understand.
Everyday for Mar meant learning all he could and so every other night he made it his mission to journey to his family's library and reading as much as he could before day break.
Little did Mar know his new life was about to take another turn.
