In the following weeks, Mar had come up with a rigid training schedule for himself.
During the day, while he was cared for by either his mother or his family's maids he would practice and focus on his old worlds breathing techniques and learn as much as he could about his new family, their structure, and their language.
Then at night he would practice his new powers as much he could conducting experiments before his little body became too exhausted and he fell asleep. Then when he woke up he would start again, until either Rhea or servant came to retrieve him.
He had thought more than once about taking it slow, but that never would last. Living as a infant contrary to his initial expectations wasn't easy, in fact it was quite stressful.
He couldn't speak yet, even though he started to grasp this new worlds language and could for the most part understand what people were saying around him. He couldn't move he was completely helpless all he could do was watch, eat, sleep, shit, and repeat.
This feeling of dependency was completely new to Mar and he honestly hated every second of it. So much free time left him bored on the edge of insanity.
So, he would focus on training and practice trying to become adjusted to his new situation. Not letting his brain become too wrapped up in how incredible crazy his circumstances were.
As Mar's powers increased so did his control and willingness to experiment further with his new abilities.
He would always be careful making sure he was completely alone before conducting an experiment. He tried to will his crib to move at one point but all that would do was leave him so exhausted that he wouldn't have the energy to practice anything else. He decided he was starting off to large and decided on smaller endeavors to being with. So when the day came when a little stone happened to sit right outside his crib, Mar focused all his energy on moving the pebble even just a little.
At first nothing happened no matter how hard he tried he then thought that his approach might be off. Falling back on the teachings from his old world's swordsmanship form 3 which emphasized going with the current of the river instead of fighting it he readjusted. He visualized reaching out and grasping the pebble with his little hand. Imagining his fingers slowly wrapping around it and lifting it into his palm, and to his shock when he opened his eyes the rock was levitating off of the ground. He tried willing it to him but the rock fell half way after he ran out of energy.
He was tired and exhausted and in need of a good sip from his mother but also ecstatic because he finally had taken his first steps in understanding the mechanism the drove these strange powers in this world.
He had tried to conjure fire or water like he saw the servants do all the time but was never successful. He decided he would have to wait until he could say and enunciate the words that they always said correctly.
For now he focused on these silent powers he stumbled across at night changing his routine to control and trying to increase his range.
Over time he did improve greatly expanding further and further where he could move his little rock that he kept hidden in his crib for his night sessions. Though he had to keep a watchful eye out for any servants or family members that might blow his cover.
He didn't know the standard for this new world but he was positive that a newborn using powers wouldn't be anything less than both shocking and terrifying.
The last thing Mar wanted was to be sent off to be experimented on or worse burned at the stake.
Once again he had grown to love life, and if he were to die again what were the chances he would be reborn into a world with such strange and marvelous powers? On top of a wealthy family that would nurture and protect him?
Probably one in a billion.
He had to hide his cards well and be patient until he was strong enough to be self-sufficient, and understood how this worlds standards worked.
What was considered talented, what was considered a genius, what was considered a monster those were the things he needed to know.
After four months had passed, Mar had come to learn a lot about this new world. The powers he saw everyone use all the time and that he had been experimenting with was called magic. Also the strange gem that he always saw whenever he visualized with his breathing exercises was called a mana core.

During these months Mar had completely mastered his stone exercise able to freely move it from one side of his room to the other without becoming exhausted. He decided he wanted to take the next step and try controlling other objects with his magic. When he was brought into the dining hall to be fed porridge since his mother had weaned him off her milk he would make use of his new surroundings.
When he was left alone with the liquid food in front of him and no one was around he would practice levitating the fluid in front of his hands. Creating little planets made of food and even added little moons to rotate around them as his control increased.
After becoming the master of the slop he decided to try his hand at controlling flames from the fire place. At first nothing happened because the distance was to great and his core to weak to have any impact. But his sense of control increased as he could fell the mana leave his body and connect and interact with the energy of the flames. If anything his mana sensitivities had skyrocketed thanks to these little training exercises.
Of course all this training put a strain on his body leaving him exhausted and hungry from the expenditure. Luckily for him thanks to his family's status he had plenty of food to refill his small engine no matter how frequent his cravings got.
Though it left him with a bit of guilt concerning his supposed new family. While they viewed him with nothing but love and affection treating him like their little treasure he saw them initially as nothing more than hosts. Like a parasite sucking off another to survive until it dies then spreads and finds a new one.
Their showering of unconditional love finally manage to break his walls down allowing him to care for both his new mother and big sister, who would come in between her lessons to his room to spend time with and play with him.
It annoyed him at first because it would interrupt his training sessions, but over time he came to enjoy her company and her bright smile. Leah of course was completely oblivious of his knowledge she just enjoyed the presence of her new baby brother, and having someone who she could just tell all her worries and insecurities to.
With all the nutrients he could ever need and the freedom to practice daily soon, Mar's body began to change and grow along with his magic and core. In fact both the servants and his parents were shocked with what a glutton their son turned out to be and how fast he seemed to be growing. The servants began to joke that perhaps the lords son possessed dwarfs blood with how large and fast he was growing.
Taking note of everyone's reactions he decided to tone down his training to two hours a day until he grew at a more normal rate. He finally got to use his old worlds basic breathing technique that was used for gathering aura which was dubbed "Assembly".
With his constant experiments and practices Mar learned that this worlds mana and mana core worked fundamentally the same as his previous life's aura and sentry. He just had to make a few adjustments and he was certain he could use his previous life's techniques and abilities.
After deciding to dial back on his magical practice he shifted his attention to making the necessary adjustments to his old training techniques. By using his old technique "exhilarate" using mana as fuel instead of aura he found he could stay awake for a week without the need for any rest.
Of course it came with many trials and errors to get the recipe just right. But discovered that the more he used the technique over and over the less effective it would be and only a full day of rest could reset it.
The weeks that followed Mar discovered more and more with this trial and error process of adjusting his old worlds techniques. He discovered that the spell casting everyone used was actually a three part process.
First one would emit their mana, then they would fuse it with the energy in the atmosphere changing its nature, and finally manipulate and control it. He found the final step to be the hardest out of the three. The magic that he had been practicing every night and morning on his pet rock or porridge skipped the 2nd step all together it was faster but consumed way more energy.
Now that enough time had passed and he felt his core get stronger and stronger with each passing day he decided it was time to try his hand at the elemental magic he had seen so often. He chose to start with water since it was a lot safer than fire and wouldn't leave a mess like earth magic would.
He still couldn't fully do the strange hand seals he saw others use but he understood the language enough to have memorized the words they said. If he was correct about this world's magic working under the same principals of his old one then he was sure that the hands seals were unnecessary.
Then as he concentrated on emitting his mana and combine it with the energy in the air he spoke the word "Aqudas" but nothing happened. After several more failed attempts Mar began to think that maybe the hand seals were really required to use nature transformation magic.
Then he started to think back on the knowledge from his old world. He recalled how water molecules formed and how they naturally attracted and stuck together because of their polarity, forming a hydrogen bond.
As he began emitting his mana again he went over these facts in his head visualizing them like he did when he moved his pet rock months ago. As he did more and more water gathered out of the atmosphere into a large water ball forming in front of his hand, he continued to gather the water until the ball was over 0.5 m in size.
Then he thought the command fire and the small ball shot out like a rocket and smashed into his rooms wall leaving Mar flabbergasted. A small rainbow appeared in his room as the water dripped down the stones.
Maids quickly came running into his room after hearing the loud bang checking to make sure the young master was safe. After he was found unharmed they wondered what could have created such a loud noise completely missing the wet stones hidden behind the door.
They decided to carry him downstairs to guard him just to be safe before reporting the matter to the lord. As the carried him away Mar's head was still spinning from what just transpired.
Whether he had realized it yet or not little Mar had just stumbled across the rare art of silent casting.
