'You idiot! What the hell were you thinking digging directly into the den of a Demon Mole? And it is in the Element Realization realm on top of that? How do you even plan on escaping now?'
'Will you shut up already? I am thinking'
I said calmly to the idiot in my head while I slowly crouched and started to crawl back towards the entrance of the mine I had been digging since morning.
A new fact about my power that I had only learned after I dug up the tunnel was that I still had storage space, somewhere, which allowed me to carry cubes in the same way as Steve did in Minecraft, although I find out that even this function was different from the game. I had no real limit to how much I carried and I could instinctually tell just what was inside of my storage space.
The idiot in my head was so spooked that he nearly ended himself when he first learned about this storage space, and I could not blame him for it either.
The ability to store things in some kind of dimension was a power that originally belonged to the True Demons of the old that had died out thousands of years ago. The stigma on this technique is so large that aside from a few elders and sect masters of the great sects alongside the Emperor, anyone else caught using techniques related to the element of Space are immediately labeled as Demonic Cultivators and are hunted down, even their families are not spared in the purge.
I used this to my advantage and started to mine as much stone blocks as I could to experiment and find out the limitations of my power.
The tools in Minecraft had a drastic increase in function in durability according to the material they were made from and stone was one of the most commonly used tools at the beginning of the game due to how useless tools made from wood were.
The results were mixed.
While Stone was definitely more reliable than wood tools, I realized that the tools were still not displaying any kind of special traits, meaning that the tools were behaving in the same way that any normal tool made from the stone would. The only positive side I could find was that the durability of the tools was not a set amount like in the game, it depended greatly on how the tools were made and what they were made from.
A tool made from using the crafting table had the same kind of durability as in the game, however, a tool made by my own hands had far greater durability and seemed to function much better than the ones made with the table. On the opposite side, It was extremely easy to make something with the help of the table. If I were to create a stone pickaxe by hand, it would take twenty minutes, but with help of the table, it only took me a few seconds.
Once I had crafted a Stone Shovel, a Stone Pickaxe, and a Stone Sword for my own safety, I immediately started to dig into the ground in search of materials that I could use to improve my house and make it more comfortable.
Another thing I had noticed was that my senses were enhanced to an extreme degree.
At first, I had credited it to the fact that I was now in the body of a cultivator but I soon realized that my new body had no cultivation at all. The moment the idiot was informed of it, his bawling and shouting over his lost cultivation started to get on my nerves so I decided to isolate him to a corner of my mind and cut our connection until he calmed down. I then slowly realized that the power of Steve was something more than I had originally realized.
My fists were strong enough to break through most materials after only a few punches.
My body was no longer affected by the elements although I could still be wounded by things that were made by myself.
My senses were enchased so much that just by looking at something, I could tell what it was made of, how it was made, how I could modify it, and how I could recreate it. The information was so overwhelming that I had to actively avoid staring too long at something unless I wanted to have a detailed analysis of the said object in my head. I could also hear things extremely well, on the same level of a cultivator in the Element Realization realm according to the idiot. My sense of taste was also enhanced which is a good thing but is balanced by the fact that my sense of smell is also enhanced which is not a good thing in a primitive world like this.
After digging into the ground and creating a mine shaft that went really deep, I gathered enough material to rebuild my entire house with better materials, unfortunately, it was also at this moment that the Protagonist's luck of this body started to work.

While digging into a deposit of Coal, the cave gave way into a massive cave system which was illuminated by strange glowing crystals that idiot helpfully identified as Spirit Stones, a staple of every Xianxia story really.
This was what led to my current predicament.
Thinking of collecting a small amount for experimentation, I failed to detect the rapidly speeding disaster in the form of a massive Mole-like creature with crystals jutting out of its body heading towards me.
The next thing I knew, I was bodied into the wall and fell to the ground while the Demon Mole stopped, sensing that it was not alone, and starting to sniff the cave to find me.
Thank whatever passed for a god on this world for the fact that this body of mine did not have a scent at all.
The Demon Mole, like regular moles, has extremely poor vision and finds prey by smell and touch, although the demon variant has the extra ability to sense Qi which allows it to find low-level cultivators to feast itself on, although the regular diet of a Demon Mole is the Spirit Stones that naturally form underground.
I slowly went behind the mole which was still sniffing at the air in frustration at failing to find its prey and slowly snuck up the tunnel I had dug. While heading out of the tunnel, I grabbed a few Spirit Stones and started to take out a few blocks of stone to close up the tunnel.
'It was only luck that that Demon Mole did not detect you'
'Luck, and the fact that I no longer have any cultivation'
I grinned as I felt the idiot sulk at being reminded of the fact that his lifelong effort in cultivation had all gone down the drain.
It was in this moment of carelessness that Murphy decided to pay me a visit for my comment and I ended up making a mistake.
I momentarily forgot that the Mole has extremely sensitive hearing and put down the block of stone a little heavily, causing a slight sound to echo around the cave, and give away my location to the mole.
I left the stone block and immediately ran up the tunnel, looking being slightly only to receive a massive shock at how easily the Demon Mole demolished the stone block that was dense enough to cause even the most modern drilling equipment trouble.
'Run faster! Take out the sword from that stupid space of yours!'
'Shut it brat! I know that already'
I immediately took out the sword from the space and turned around to fight. The moment the Mole got close enough, I slashed at its arm causing it to roar in pain but I failed to dodge the sweeping attack from its uninjured paw that resulted in me tumbling like a leaf. I immediately got up and examined myself to find no injuries, but I could tell instinctually that three more attacks of the same strength would definitely put me down for good.
Taking advantage of its pain, I ran fated towards the surface and heard the Mole start closing the gap between us.
Just as I reached the entrance to the surface, I reached into my space and took out blocks of tungsten, and immediately built a makeshift barrier with only enough opening for one cube to sit comfortably.
I jumped out of the hole due to my relatively lean body and barely dodged another sweep by the mole. Not giving it any change, I immediately dug another tunnel parallel to the existing one in seconds and placed another tungsten block right underneath its arm that was sticking out of the hole, locking it in place.
The Mole roared in anger as it realized what had happened in the few seconds it was not paying attention and started to thrash around, but the heavily compressed cubes of Tungsten made sure that it could not move its one good arm.
Without wasting any time, I dug another tunnel, this time to the left of the mole, and locked its injured arm in place as well, followed by locking its legs in place.
Once its entire body was unable to move, I took out the stone sword and plunged it into its agitated face, killing it instantly.
Only when I confirmed that the Demon Mole was truly dead did I finally collapse on the floor in mental exhaustion.
'….Next time, you better prepare yourself an armor before venturing out. I don't want to continuously have panic attacks every time you put our body in danger
'Easy for you to say you, idiot, it is because of your stupid protagonist luck that shit like this happened in the first place
