'This place is way too dangerous to settle down'
'I know, but I think this is the best place to find a few good resources to restart my experiments, besides, don't tell you don't find it suspicions that those damned Flood Dragons who hate to settle down in one place are actually using this place as their nesting ground for over a thousand years?'
'……I hate it when you have a point
I smirked as I began the construction of my new research lab/ home. This time, I am using Tungsten blocks to build the base structure, then I will use the Earth Qi metal that I harvested preciously to surround the entire structure to provide extra protection, and this time, I made sure to replace the floor with Tungsten as well, I don't want this house to collapse because the Ground gave way like previously.
This is now more of a bunker than a proper house, and the best thing is that it is completely underground with no chance of anyone ever finding it without knowing where it is in the first place.
But it needs to be this secure at the minimum for what I am about to do.
'ROOOOOAAAR'
The distant roars of the Flood Dragons alerted me that the plan has begun.
I slowly crawled out of my bunker, wearing the new prototype armor I had made with a Diamond Sword equipped and a Tungsten shield on my arm. I watched as the Flood Dragons took my bait, namely, a massive explosion somewhere to the north of their nesting grounds and left to investigate, leaving behind only two Flood Dragons to guard their young.
Despite their name, the Flood Dragons are more closely related to serpents than Dragons, although they do have dragon blood in them since the Dragon Clan in the Demon Capital welcomes any Flood Dragon that has reached the level of Elemental Soul Awakening realm into their family. Unfortunately, this heritage has also made them extremely arrogant, so much so that they claimed one of the only two ways between the two landmasses of the Continent as their Nesting Grounds.
Today, I am going into their nest to find out just what is so special about this place that they refuse to move out of it even when the Dragon Clan had personally ordered them to do so during the previous Human-Demonic Beat war that took place a thousand years ago.
There is also another objective to infiltrate their nest. While the Flood Dragons primarily thrive in water, their newborns must constantly be near a source of extreme heat for a few days after birth due to their dragon blood. This means that there is a high chance that there might be Lava underneath the nests of the Flood Dragon. A resource that I have failed to gather up to this point and something that I am desperately searching for to continue my experiments.
Because I need Lava to make Obsidian and I need Obsidian to make a portal to the Nether, or at least to see if the portal works in the first place.
I slowly hid in the environment and started to make a trench in the ground to avoid the two Flood Dragons that were guarding the Nest. Once again, my lack of Qi is very useful in this situation since most of the intelligent creatures in the world rely on Qi sensing to find intruders due to the fact that no one in their right mind and without Qi would dare to attack them.
No one other than me at least.
Once I got close to the entrance, I started to make a full-fledged tunnel underground leading straight into the nest, hopefully. I slowly continues to dig the tunnel as quietly as possible to not set off the two monsters above me, and thankfully, broke through into what looked like a massive cave system with a subtle glow at the end.
'Looks like you are going to find Lava after all'
'I don't want to get my hopes up just yet'
I slowly made my way towards the glow while crouching to keep my profile to the minimum while also putting a conscious effort to muffle my steps.
It took me some time but I finally managed to get to the glow and lo and behold. Lava.
I grinned and took out a few buckets from my storage and greedily took the Lava into my storage. It was only when I felt that I had more Lava than I could use that I stopped, only then did I realize that I may have taken a bit too much.
What was once a massive lake of Lava was now only half as full, while it may not have an impact on the Flood Dragon species since there was still enough Lava for their newborn, it would definitely give away the fact that someone was here.
'Go! Go! No time to think, since you already found the lava I think you should start looking for the source of the Flood Dragon's stubbornness and get out quickly'
I took his advice and directly started to run around the nest, not considering if the Flood Dragons heard it or not because I am sure that we are sufficiently deep underground to make sure no noise would reach the surface.
After running around the entire nest for a few minutes, nearly dodging a disaster when I nearly barreled into a room full of sleeping infant Flood Dragons, I finally arrived at what appeared to be a massive stone door.
'…..I didn't know Flood Dragons had the ability to carve things?'
'……Neither did I, rather, they should not be able to do that unless they achieve a humanoid form'
Putting aside our mutual confusion at what we were seeing, I pushed open the door and made sure to close it behind myself so that I don't end up jump scared by an angry Flood Dragon when they find the door ajar. What greeted us inside the door is something that I did not anticipate.

A pile of skeletons lay at the corner of the room, each one dressed in a different style of clothing while another pile of skeletons lay on the opposite side, this one wearing an outdated version of the Imperial Army clothing from over a thousand years ago. But what really stood out was the massive pile of weapons ranging from swords and spears to Qi treasures and Soul Artifacts. Whatever this place was, there was definitely a battle here and it was a battle between high-level people. Qi treasures were only usable by those that are above the Core Enhancement realm and Soul Artifacts are magical treasures that can only be refined and used by Experts in Elemental King Realm.
But what I don't understand is what the Imperial Army was doing here? Unlike the army of today, the Imperial Army of that time only consisted of Body Refinement stage cultivators, a few Qi Establishment first realm at best since they would automatically be promoted from being a foot soldier like the skeletons here the moment they breakthrough the second realm of Qi Establishment.
I glanced around the room and spotted the real treasure that the Flood Dragons were guarding, and finally understood why they refused to move from this place.
Right in the center of the room was a skeleton wearing ocean blue robes, holding onto a blue crystal that was giving off a constant light, bathing the Skeleton in an ethereal glow.
'…….Hey, you thinking what I'm thinking? cause I think we just found a groundbreaking secret '
'……..That is impossible, the robes that skeleton is wearing are from the Great Seas Sect, I once saw a depiction of it in the Royal Library, and the blue crystal should be their Sect treasure, the Primordial Ocean Pearl. However, the records said that the treasure was lost during the final battle between the Great Seas Sect and the Naga Clan during the last Human-Demonic Beast war. The sect used the treasure to perform a suicidal attack that completely wiped out the Naga clan and sunk the Sect underwater, killing them off, it on the edges of the ruins that the Sea God City now stands.'
'Isn't that Sea God City, by extension, the location of the battle thousands of Li away from our current location? How do you think this monk of the Great Sea Sect and the Sect treasure get all the way out here?'
'I don't know, but I think you should take that with you'
"….I don't think so'
'What?? This is the legacy of a great human sect and you want it to rot in the hands of the demonic beast-'
'Let me stop you right there, first of all, look at the surroundings of the Gem'
I felt the idiot looking through my eyes as I showed him the massive yet crude formation that was around the skeleton and visibly drawing power from the Gem and then heading off into the ceiling and disappearing into it.
'Do you remember what is directly above us?'
'….The hatching room of the Flood Dragons'
'And what is the essential energy required for a Flood Dragon to be born from their Eggs that you told me about?'
'Water Qi'
'What is the type of Qi that is being generated by the treasure?'
'Water Qi'
'So, knowing all this, do you still want me to snatch that Crystal from the hands of a skeleton that is in the middle of a formation that is clearly using the crystal for the purpose of providing energy for their young so that they can be born into this world?'
'They are Demonic Beasts, we should not be thinking about their kind in this kind of way'
'And yet, they are Sapient. If it were a race of dumb beasts I wouldn't have minded that much, we used to kill animals all the time in our world for one reason or another, I personally like to eat meat which means killing animals by the dozens just for my meat supply of a single month. But this? This is where I draw the line, I may be willing to kill Demonic Beast for my survival, but I refuse to commit Genocide'
Hearing no retort from him, I left the Crystal as is, although I did take a note of the formation and memorized it so that I can duplicate it at my lab. I started to rummage through the skeletons and was surprised to find a few Qi Cultivation books, although it was not much, just a few beginner manuals, still, they would help me greatly in my research of creating a Cultivation manual of my own. I also found a few Spirit Stones, a few trinkets, some personal things like a diary, and last will aside from the obvious pile of weapons and artifacts that I directly took into my storage.
Unfortunately, this was also the exact moment that I heard the many roars of the Flood Dragons followed by the Cave system shaking, the Flood Dragons must have realized that someone has intruded into their nest.
I immediately took out my compass and started digging a tunnel directly from the chamber towards my bunker, although I made sure to cover it up behind me to make it look like no one was there. I continued to dig for over 6 Li before I hit the wall of Earth Qi metal that I dug through to get into my home before replacing it again.
The roaring of the Flood Dragons reverberated for a whole hour, even underground, until they finally stopped roaring, allowing me to slowly come out of my house and use the telescope to take a look.
The Flood Dragons now patrolled their nest with great vigilance but strangely, they don't seem to be too upset. Once I confirmed this, I slowly got out of my house and used my power to take the entire house into my storage to move it somewhere safe enough for me to continue my experiments.
All the while, the Idiot in my mind was strangely silent.
