Chapter 4
A few days have passed since Nicolus arrived in this world. Nothing much had happened and each day was like the first one. He woke up early in the morning and helped Serina and Bronson prepare Breakfast for every one(which gathered approval from both of them) and then when Bronson went out to work, he brought the children outside to play.
He was never a social person in his previous life but somehow he was very good with children even before coming here. There was innocent about children, they honestly let their desire show and they were usually easier to satisfy. Once you did that, they will always treat you well. At least that was his case. Other people may have a different opinion on the topic.
They had started playing further and further until they were right at the edge of the slums( which caused concern for Bronson and anxiety for Serina) but he never let them go towards the marketplace. He didn't want the children to be looked upon like that ever again. They didn't choose to be like this and thus they didn't such stares.
They played till Bronson returned from his day job and then had lunch and then went into an exhausted but satisfied nap as Bronson went for his evening job and then woke up to play again till dinner. After which they quickly went to sleep..
Nicolus sat opposite of Serina and Bronson as they ate what was left of dinner after the children finished. They was something all three of them allowed since they had to serve everyone.

"I am going ask again to even though we had this conversation before, But Nic, don't you want to learn how read and write?"
Bronson said in a tone that didn't expect much but still tried.
"Okay" The answer the to his enquiry was such a resounding yes that both Bronson and Serina raised their eyebrows in surprise.
"And while we are on the subject why don't you teach me Maths as well"
Nicolus further added which made their eyes turn wide in surprise.
They just sat there, staring at him in silence so it was Nicolus turn to raise an eyebrow.
"Is there something wrong with what I said?" He questioned them.
"It's nothing. Just surprised you are so willing to learn since you avoided it like it was a plague."
Serina answered for both of them in a way that made him pop a vein on his forehead and made Bronson shake his head and sigh.
"Well, even if I don't like it, I can't ignore the fact that these are valuable skills to have in a society and if I am blessed enough to get an opportunity to learn them I should act upon it despite my personal dislikes." Nicolus explained with the hand holding his spoon trembled.
(And yes they had spoons and other thing like forks and other cutlery even if they were cheap wooden ones )
"No way! Nicolus could never be so reasonable and logic-oriented! Who are you and what did you do to our Nicolus!?"
Serina stood up with mock surprise and questioned him.
"Ow!"
His answer to her question was a chop on her head.
"Now now! Don't be mean to each other when Nicolus has had such a wonderful change of mind." Bronson pacified the upcoming debate between them easily and then turned towards Nicolus.
"Are you sure you want learn this?"
"Yeah!"
Nicolus nodded his head towards Bronson.
"If Nic is doing it, then count me in as well"
At that point Albedo who was listening in on them interjected in the conversation.
"Well! If you are up for it I don't have anything to say. Rather, I am joyful to see you have finally resolved to learn. Serina is already able read and write quite well so she would be helpful".
Bronson said with a big smile.
With that they finished dinner and from the next day onward Nicolus and Albedo started to learn how to read and write and Math.
