12.Time

I arrived back home at around 9 o'clock. I knew I had to be patient now. If I started my plan too early or too late, it wouldn't have the desired effect. This meant that I had nothing to do for the time being.

While I waited at home in my apartment for the sun to set, I continued to work on the encrypted letters. Each of the letters was coded completely differently. For example, one wasn't even made up of letters but was just a string of numbers, while another was made up of characters that I couldn't find anywhere on the internet. As each code seemed to be unique, I concentrated on just one for the time being. The reason why I started with that letter of all letters was actually quite simple. It was the only letter that had a name in the heading. Above the encrypted message it said "Find Ben". I had already tried everything possible. I went so far as to use complicated mathematical algorithms and procedures, but I wasn't really getting anywhere. The work on the letters was once again in vain, but at least this time it helped to overcome the time.

I got ready and set off. It only took 10 minutes and I had already arrived. During my observation over the last few days, I realized that my actual target was too unpredictable. It would be difficult to predict exactly where he would be at that time today. So I thought of another plan that starts at this House. I got off my bike and took off my motorcycle helmet before I started knocking on the front door. A short time later, someone opened the door for me. It was a girl who had already changed into her sleeping clothes and was holding a toothbrush.

"Ah Blaze? What are you doing here?" Jane asked me in surprise.

"Hey, I'm sorry I'm here so late, but I really need you to call your brother for me. It's an emergency," I explained to her.

"You want me to call my brother? I don't know if that's such a good idea. He'll probably kill you if he finds out you're on our doorstep.

"Please Jane, it's really important. If I don't reach him soon, AJ could be in danger," I begged her. Jane was visibly surprised by my words. I knew she didn't like her uncle but in the end he is still a part of her family.

All right, I don't know exactly what's going on, but I hope you don't regret getting Scott involved," she warned me, handing me her cell phone. To be honest, I wasn't sure if Scott would want to listen to me properly either. But in this case, he would have no other choice. I had already made sure of that. There was one thing, however, that I hadn't expected. That Scott wouldn't even be able to listen to me because he wouldn't answer his cell phone. I had anticipated minor problems in advance and had therefore planned a little more time than I would probably need. But if I don't find him soon, it could turn into more than just a minor problem.

"He's not answering his cell phone. Do you know where he is right now?" I asked.

"Erm, yes, I think I know where he is. My uncle told him to clean up the club office today as a punishment. He seems to have done something stupid again," Jane replied.

"Okay, I have to get to the office right away," I said to her and ran towards the bike.

Blaze, whatever you and Scott do, be careful" Jane called after me as I started the bike and sped off. I calculated in my head how much time I had left. I came to the conclusion that I would still make it if Scott believed me quickly. So it all depended on how convincing I could be. As I thought about how my conversation with Scott would probably go, I decided to drive even faster.

After another 10 minutes I reached the club. The door was locked just like the last time I was here at night. I could see the light in the office was still on, so luckily Scott was still working. I banged on the glass door until Scott came to open it. I saw surprise on his face at first, but with every step he took towards the door he looked angrier. No matter what, I have to get him to listen to me even if I have to use some force.

"Are you stupid? What are you doing here at this hour?" Scott asked me immediately after he had opened the door.

"Scott, you have to listen to me. AJ is in danger. The new businessman he met with this morning is a cop.

"A cop? You're out of your mind. Fuck off before I decide to kill you."

"Scott, you have to trust me. You saw how I was arrested by the police a few days ago. I saw that policeman when I was at the station that day".

"So you saw him? How do you know that you didn't just mistook him?"

"That was my first thought too, so I followed him from the club".

"You what?" He said angrily while clenching his fist.

"Calm down. I had to make sure if I was wrong or not. I tracked him to a restaurant and he was there eating with two other people. I found out later that one of those men is the Police Chief of London. If you don't believe me, look at it yourself," I said and handed him a photo from my pocket and showed him an article from the Internet on my Phone.

"That can't be true," Scott said in shock. This was the first time I'd seen him completely frozen with fear.

"We don't have time for this now. You have to call AJ now."

"That won't work, AJ always turns his phone off before business meetings. He called me five minutes ago and told me he wouldn't be available for an hour."

"Doesn't anyone in your family know how to use a phone? Do you know where they were going?"

"Yes, I know where the meeting is going to be and which route they are going to take.

"Okay, let's take my motorcycle".

"I'm also here with my car," said Scott. I could tell by the look on his face that there was no way he wanted to ride a motorcycle with me.

"Don't be like that, you know we're faster on my bike. What are you going to do when the traffic stops?" I replied. Scott didn't like it but he had to admit that I was right and we both sped off to our final destination.
