Chapter 32 - Maximum Warp
Stepping out of my room and taking a closer look at these balls of light, containing fairies. Upon closer inspection I noticed these fairies had green colored hair and green tight fitting dresses. The fairies sensing my presence started to gather around me.
“Lord contractor! Lord contractor! Lord contractor!” –Fairies
These green fairies started to swarm around me speaking in high-pitched voices being all squicky. I tried to shoo them away as I lost my fascination with these creatures, for acting in such a disturbing manner. The fairies were not letting up, so I had to run down the vine-like ladders.
I could hear the sound of their flapping wings behind me as it got closer. In a panic I started to break into a run and try to make it to the ground. I turned around to see if I got away.
“Oh snap! Are these things killer bees?” –Dasas
The fairies are laughing like playful children as they were chasing me. For me it was a nightmare.
“Children of the forest cease your charge!” –Nele
The fairies froze in mid-air at the firm yell commanding them to stop. I turn away from the fairies to see who it was that shouted. Nele was a littles away from me and standing upright with a commanding posture. Her wet long blue hair sticking close to her tall slender body gave off an alluring invitation to dine in.
Nele made the fairies go away like a mother scolding her children and grounding them as punishment. Once again I am amazed at the temperament and atmosphere of this elf woman. Sadly from her story of the previous hero, for she still has strong feelings for him like a widowed wife.
“To see those children so open with a person of another race. As expected of the contractor for the spirit kings I suppose.” –Nele
Nele’s voice snapped me out of my musing and brought me back to reality. This elf woman caused me to become distracted. I can only sigh at myself and unsure of my own feelings.
“Thanks for stopping them Nele.” –Dasas
“Fu fu. Not a problem.” -Nele
Night has started to descend but the elven forest with its many balls of lights made everything still visible. Not to mention I noticed Nele just came back from the bath and carrying a very fragrant scent. She was also alone making me curious where were the others.
“Where are the others?” –Dasas
“Ah yes. Calista guided them to their lodgings for the night, after the bath.” –Nele
“I see.” -Dasas
Being alone with Nele made me uncomfortable and feeling awkward, for I am unsure what to say or do. I never was good at dealing with matters of the heart. Trying to convince myself it was just a passing infatuation and nothing more.
“Heading home?” –Dasas
“Yes.” -Nele
I wanted to ask if she needed an escort home but decided against it. There was no time for such things, for I am not human anymore and I got to keep up my act as a god. Nele probably understood something was off about me and nodded as she made way to her home. I just watched her go.
The next day came and Byron decided to be my chaperone, for he guided me to where the others were. When we reached the group of women, for they all wore lively expressions and giggled as they saw Byron. I noticed Archer was elbowing Calista for some reason.
My worries about my crew being unable to befriend the elves worked out somehow. Must be due to the bath they had together. Naked socializing can do wonders for people. The image in my mind with a bunch of nude attractive women having fun together in the bath was simply beautiful.
I saw Nele laughing with them and it kind of reminded me about what happened last night. I try to forget it and think about how I should explain my plans for the future to them. I am planning to teleport to Mount Tai and check up on the others and oversee the coming battle.
Byron after escorting me moves next to Nele with a dumbfounded expression. He probably wonders as to why the women were making odd faces when they see him. Even I am not sure what transpired for such reactions. I never understood the feelings of women after all.
“It is good that everyone gathered here. I have an announcement to make.” –Dasas
My crew and the wood elves stopped their playful banter and made serious faces when I spoke. Now I’m getting nervous when they all had their eyes on me. I try to push down my complicated feelings I had when I was a cowardly human. I must act the part of someone great and look down at people as if they were insects.
“I’m planning to warp back to my home.” –Dasas
I explain to everyone about going back to Mount Tai to check on my other NPCs and their war preparations. The worldly teleport I will be using only works on me, so the others will have to stay here with the wood elves. I was hoping they improve the friendship between our two groups, but after what I saw just now I should not be too worried.
Lancer has a very anxious expression on as she feels most comfortable around me. She was very shy when it comes to strangers and still had not fully opened herself up to my NPCs yet. The many years living as a slave made it hard for her to be expressive. This was something that takes time to recover from and I hope this will be the perfect opportunity for Lancer.
Nele ensures my crew was safe within the confines of the elven village and I should depart with no worries. Considering how strong Saber and Archer are there was not much for me to fear from the wood elves. With the spirit barrier around the great forest it means the bitch goddess can’t touch them either.
“Safe travels my master.” –Saber
“Make sure the others aren’t causing trouble!” –Archer
“I’ll wait here until master returns.” –Lancer
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
“May the spirits bless your journey.” –Nele
“See ya later dragon god.” –Calista
“I’ll take care of Saber while you gone.” –Byron
“Byron you… Anyway guys if anything happens make sure to contact me on the communication ring.” -Dasas
I almost spitted out blood when I heard what the bastard Byron said. Sure enough I doubt we can be friends anytime soon. I decided to ignore him and opened my game menu. There was probably a method to teleport without the use of the menu, but at the moment it was not possible.
“Warp drive operational. Maximum warp engage!” –Dasas
A holographic-like world map shows up and I press on the spot where my mansion was located. I raised my right hand to my forehead and do a common military salute from my old world. The scene around me started to distort.
“Going where no one has gone before…” –Dasas
The distorted scene went away and I am greeted with the familiar sight in front of my mansion’s double doors looking out towards the forest and abandoned frontier village. However, the previous sight was vastly different from the one I saw before.
There was a large neatly paved dirt road leading to the abandoned village where nothing but forest used to exist. Not to mention the abandoned frontier village totally changed from what it used to be. What used to be a village has transformed into a black walled city.
Calling it a city was an understatement. This was a fortress and carried a very ominous presence where only death awaits for who all enters. The many sharp watch towers and jagged walls made it look to be a place where evil demons resided.
Curious as to how such large structures were built in a short time I made my way to it. Walking down the mountain steps from my mansion and traveling along the nicely paved dirt road. I noticed the weather was getting colder than when I was here last. Winter must be coming.
Getting closer to the black fortress I came upon many crucifixes on both sides of the road. I noticed many mummified remains of men strapped to these crucifixes. Made the surroundings very eerie and in very bad taste. This has to be the work of Assassin.
The thought of making Assassin take down these things crossed my mind. However after thinking over the situation, for leaving these things up might be for the best. I recalled back to the incident about having severed heads on pikes to ward off enemies. These mummified crucified men could probably also cause the same effect.
Once I finally got close to the black fortress there were many people around. They appeared to be guards and they had tamed magic beast wolves on leashes. Upon closer inspection I noticed the guards were extremely pale and grey skinned in color. Their faces were quite ugly to behold as well with fangs coming out of their mouths.
Looking around I also noticed sluggish people walking around. No, it was not people, for they were definitely zombies. Gaping wounds left hanging open as if it didn’t matter and these things just walked around aimlessly. Witnessing all this I could only feel strong disgust and some fear.
There was a large open entrance to the fortress and no gates. I suppose a gate was not needed with all the undead hanging around. The foul odor of rotting corpses was evident the closer I got to the black fortress.
How did it become like this? It definitely has to be a result of me turning Caster into a vampire. This means it was my fault these undead exist. It was the only possible answer. My image keeps getting worse and worse. I’m definitely looking like the evil god personified with a legion of undead behind me.
Once I got closer to the entrance of the black fortress the undead around it finally noticed my presence. They started to shout and shriek like monsters as they found prey. Around a hundred of them started to run in my direction. Really made me wish I had a gatling gun to mow them all down like a certain video game.
The thought of running away in fear definitely crossed my mind. However, I am the boss of this place and as the top dog no one messes with me here. How dare these dirty undead spawn not recognize their superiors.
Leeroy Jenkins!!!
Let the rampage commence! Lots of things been going bad for me lately and I needed to let loose. I decided to engage this large undead mob using martial arts from my monk support job. I charged straight into their group and started to punch and kick everything in my way.
Each of my attacks pulverized the body of an undead. In my killing spree rage I didn’t think to not destroy these things as I needed them to fight against the human army. Stupidity at its finest right here folks, and sometimes you got to say screw everything.
Having undead blood, innards, and body tissue flying all over the place and covering me was a very nasty experience. The odor and funk was massive indeed and I almost vomited many times. However, I kept going and going until the mob was nothing more than meat patties on the ground.
The thrill and excitement of letting everything go and indulging in violence was refreshing to say the least. The remaining undead nearby started to back off as an unknown handsome pale skinned man ran towards me.
“Stop your attacks at once you lowly undead! That there is our esteemed evil god Dasas!” -???
The finely dressed handsome gentlemen I don’t recognize but feel somewhat familiar was smiling as he approached me. One look and was all it took for me to realize this man was a vampire. Probably a product of Caster’s feeding.
