Chapter 26 - The March

On a grassy hill overlooking the royal capital city of Hogsmeade is a distance of a couple of miles away. A large human army of many thousands await orders to march. The army is comprised of many armed peasants, soldiers, supply crew, a small unit of golems, and a detachment of three dragon knights alongside their flying dragons.

At the forefront of this large army are three human individuals. They are the leaders of this expedition to retake the western territory of Fori kingdom. The three riding upon their magic beast horses are Asura the champion of the goddess, the general Brun Alverson, and the newly titled duke Henry Bourdain. They are between two large magic cannons bound on top of sturdy wagons and are pulled by four magic beast horses each.

The two magic cannons are very imposing and it gives the three men between them an air of might and conquest. Asura the bald headed man with his two bionic arms glowing with power gives a displeased face as he looks upon the army of 50,000 before him.

“How are we supposed to win against the evil god with an army of trash? I only see shabby peasants with farm tools. Weak looking soldiers that probably never seen battle.” –Asura

The general Brun Alverson is a large man standing at almost two meters wearing a glorified set of knight armor that shines in the sun. He has short dirty dark blonde hair with a long beard covering his face. He begrudgingly deals with the remark from Asura.

“Fear of the evil god. Means everyone only cares for their own interest. The best forces are to protect the three remaining territories and the royal capital. We are left with armed refugees and newly recruited soldiers.” –Brun

The new duke Henry Bourdain with his short stature standing at 157cm and his large pudgy body form almost a ball shape. He is the son of former duke Alexander Bourdain that died during the fall of the great city Numan. With black hair like his father kept short and wearing luxurious noble clothing unsuitable for battle. He is joining this army to reclaim his family’s territory and to assert his dominion as the duke.

“Oink...weez. Oink. With this large army. Oink. We can retake my land. Oink. No problem.” –Henry

“Damn pig! You guys underestimate the evil god. I used to be a frog stuck in a well. But I got a taste of the ocean.” -Asura

“Surely with a hero blessed by the goddess Lana here. It should be fine.” –Brun

“Fools. He took my only blood family. My little sister Mia was living in Numan when it fell…” –Asura

“Oink. You forget my father was there too. Oink. My city.” –Henry

“Let‘s drop this matter. Marching my army to reclaim the western territory is priority.” –Brun

The general Brun Alverson put on a confident face as he rode a few steps forward on his horse towards the army to give a speech.

”Sons of Fori. I am general Brun Alverson. The day of battle draws near. The evil god and his horde are rampaging across our homes and lands destroying all in his path. Never have we seen such dark times since long ago when the demons invaded Zorya. Like back then we have hope. Here and now. With us is another hero blessed by the goddess Lana to ensure our victory.” –Brun

The large army is shouting out in passion and revenge as it fills the heavens. The horns of battle are blown to signal the start of the march.

”Hooooooooooooooooo!!” –The human army

”Go forth and praise to the goddess Lana!! To the Fori kingdom!!” –Brun

”To the Fori kingdom!! To the goddess Lana!! To the Fori kingdom!!” –The human army

The massive human army starts to march towards the stronghold of the evil god and claim victory for humanity. The earth trembles like an earthquake as they march across the land in high morale.

At some random town inside the western territory of the Fori kingdom is being attacked by Assassin, Rider, and a band of vampires. They are hunting humans for food and bodies for their ever growing army.

“Keep it up you bloodsuckers!! Harvest more humans!! The more we take the stronger our army gets!!” –Rider

“……………” –Assassin

“No need to say anything. I won’t be able to hear it anyway Assassin. Just continue with your soul eating.” –Rider

Rider cleaves a random human town dweller in two that tried to attack him with his massive two-handed steel axe. He flings the great axe aside to get rid of the blood and human tissue.

“My blood is boiling!!! Soon there will be war!! My first time!! Can’t wait to pop my war cherry!!” –Rider

Many screams are heard in the town as the group of vampires attack and feed upon their unfortunate lives. The kids are left alone as ordered by Dasas but they end up dying anyway. They are either staying or defending their homes and families. Same with the women as all the people who stayed behind in the western territory are people who refuse to flee and become refugees.

The result is every human no matter what gender and age are taken. As these attacks are happening a lone vampire is running towards Rider and Assassin in panic. This vampire is the former human Anthony Bourdain. No longer is he a fat ugly human as the vampire transformation made him lost weight and gave him a handsome appearance.

“My lords!!! Grave news!!!” –Anthony

“Dammit. What is it Anton?” -Rider

“The Fori kingdom is sending an army!! The humans march!! To attack the castle of our esteemed evil god Dasas!!” –Anton

“Don’t call chief an evil god. Just god should be fine. Anyway we should prepare ourselves to welcome them. When the time comes. I hope there is someone in that army who can give me a good fight.” –Rider

“My lord! Are you not worried?” –Anton

“Worried? What an idiotic thing to say. I am excited!! Hahaha!! –Rider

“Hah. I shall join the battle too. My loyalty lies with my queen Caster.” –Anton

“Good to have you aboard. Friend. Hahaha!!” –Rider

“……(nods)” –Assassin

“Will we truly be okay? The price of immortality isn’t cheap.” –Anton

“Did you say something Anton?” –Rider

“Nothing my lords!! May the god Dasas grant us victory!!” –Anton

All the townspeople that got their blood drained start to turn into lesser vampires and mindless zombies. Those who got bit by Caster became regular vampires. The ones bit by the regular vampires become lesser degenerate vampires. The ones bitten by the degenerate vampires become mindless zombies.

The town became quiet as there are no more humans left alive. Rider, Assassin, and the undead horde start to head back to Mount Tai. Once back home they will prepare for war.

At the southern end of the Zorya continent is the human kingdom of Korin. Mountain ranges run alongside the edges of Zorya facing the Sea of Hades. Across this Sea of Hades is the land of demons also known as the continent of Volos.

There is one empty clearing through the mountain ranges from the Sea of Hades to the rest of the land of Zorya. This large clearing is the only mountain path the demons can invade into Zorya from Volos. The mountain path was dubbed the name Hellgate.

Many giant sea monsters roam the seas so it is not safe for demon ships to sail for long voyages. Thus why demons are unable to muster a large army to sail around the mountain ranges and can only access Zorya by going through Hellgate. At the end of Hellgate is a large stone-walled fort belonging to the kingdom of Korin.

The fort is manned by old weary soldiers close to retirement and fresh army recruits in need of battle experience. The last demon army attack was over three hundred years ago and so humankind have become lax with guarding the hellgate.

There are only small skirmishes by goblins and the occasional orcs. They make good training targets for the soldiers to build up battle experience. However, on this one strange night the human soldiers manning the fort walls witness a nightmare from the direction of Hellgate.

Massive armies of demons march forth through the Hellgate towards the fortress. Thousands of goblins, orcs and even trolls are sighted. After three hundred years the demon army invades the land of Zorya once again.

Riding on top of a flying demon beast is a demon noble and he is pointing an eerie staff towards the sky. This demon is the new demon king Mordor. He is wearing a luxurious robe colored black like hell embroidered with designs that induce fear upon the enemy. He has red skin covering his entire body with two large black horns on his head.

“Attack!! Mwahaha!! The age of man shall fall!!” –Mordor

The soldiers of the fortress panic as they try to ready their weapons and look upon the demon army while trembling in fear. A couple of soldiers riding on horses race out of the fortress in haste towards the Korin kingdom to warn them of the attack.

No dragon knights are available at the fortress as the Korin kingdom did not see the need to expend valuable resources. The humans became complacent with time of peace and will pay dearly for it.

The great cathedral located within the royal capital of Fori kingdom. Inside the white room is an excited goddess Lana. The saintess Anita Sarkeesian is also present.

“Hohoho. The world has become exciting. Dasas should be happy.” –Lana

“He will be grateful my goddess.” –Anita

“Right! Right! I must have him always thinking of me!” –Lana

“Everything will be yours my goddess.” –Anita

The goddess Lana while sitting on her white marble stone throne looks up with an eager expression while rubbing her stomach.

“You know. I always wanted to try and have a child. My pride just wouldn’t allow me to lay with a mortal.” –Lana

“……………” –Anita

“Then Dasas appeared. Ahh. I can see it in his eyes. He is definitely the same as me. He seeks to bring chaos. He may deny it but it is so.” –Lana

“My goddess can see all.” –Anita

“I’m tired of this world. This cursed prison. Other worlds exist and I want to visit them. Dasas might make it possible. Two heads is better than one.” –Lana

The two women inside the white room ponder as they think what lies beyond the world of Anahita.

Back to the present with Dasas and his merry crew…

A humanlike chill run up the divine spine of Dasas. A foreboding premonition is invading the body and mind of Dasas.
