Alexander and Leonardo landed at the edge of the floating island. Leonardo recalled his Griffin, but Alexander ordered his wyvern to circle the area.
“Did you bring your ace?” Leonardo asked.
“No,” Alexander replied. “Besides, we’re not in Carrion. I can switch creatures in my grimoire anytime.”
Leonardo gave him a weird look, but didn’t discuss it further. “Did your source say anything about this?”
“Like I said earlier. I didn’t ask,” Alexander answered.
Leonardo just sighed, then his eyes snapped towards the direction of the center of the island. “Do you feel that?”
“The ominous aura?” Alexander raised an eyebrow. “It’s not that powerful.”
“I know, but who would dare point their aura at you?” Leonardo asked in concern.
Despite his age, Alexander was still someone that even the royal family wouldn’t cross. But someone openly directed their aura at him.
“It’s not rare for people to not recognize me,” Alexander sighed.
Alexander drew his sword began heading towards the center of the island. Leonardo shrugged and followed behind.
As they explored the floating island, they found out that the island to the form of a forest with multiple rock formations. “Is this place a ruin?” Leonardo asked.
“Why don’t you ask them?” Alexander pointed up the trees.
Leonardo’s eyes widened when he saw people in the trees. They were tribal clothes and were covered in traditional tattoos. “Where did they come from?!” Leonardo summoned an axe and a shield.
“The just arrived,” Alexander stated as one of the tribesmen lunged at him.
Alexander dodged the attack and swung his sword, slicing the man in half. Both of them watched as the man’s body turned to dust. “They’re not human...” Leonardo muttered.
“I suggest, you focus,” Alexander stated.
“Right,” Leonardo grinned. “Bring it!”
The tribesmen lunged at them. Leonardo’s axe erupted with red aura before he swung, creating a powerful shockwave that tore through the forest. Everything the attack cut down turned to dust.
“Let me guess... this whole island is made of dust,” Alexander mumbled as he cut down another attacker. “Let me try something,” he tossed a recording crystal at one of the tribesmen, but it just bounced off. “They’re not creatures...”
Leonardo slammed one down to the ground and checked their pulse. “No pulse.”
“Not alive either,” Alexander used his magic to bind the remaining tribesmen. “Speak.”
All of them just growled and struggled. “Are these guys even real?” Leonardo asked in confusion. “Maybe they’re made from magic.”
“Who the hell is strong enough to make a floating island?” Alexander scoffed.
Leonard shrugged. “A god?”
Alexander just sighed. “Let’s head deeper inside.”

The whole capital was in chaos. Roland had expected a lot of changes to happen during the major update, but he didn’t expect it to be like this. Thanks to the success of the launch of the game, the developers had responded with a lot of added contents for the game.
The first part of the update was visual updates to the cores containing creatures. The second part were gameplay features like the trading system and the enhancement system for the creatures. The last and most important update was the limited time events.
And the first event was the floating island in the sky.
“I need to get up there...” Roland began looking around for anyone with a flying mount.
The first event gave enhancement crystals for the creatures as a reward. That was something he couldn’t afford to miss if he wanted to get strong enough to survive in this world.
“Hey!” Roland called out to a man with a giant bird. “I’ll give you gold if you take me up there!”
------
“...” Alexander and Leonard stared at the giant camp at the center of the island.
After an hour of exploring the forest and killing humans made of dust, they arrived at the center of the floating island and found a tribal camp. At the center of the camp was giant wooden thrown where a man with fancy ornamental hat glared at them.
“Did you know that our world is a setting for a video game?” Alexander casually mentioned.
“What’s a video game?” Leonard asked without taking his eyes off the tribesman.
Alexander shrugged. “I don’t know either.”
Both of them charged, tearing through the tribesmen that got in their way.
Leonard leaped into the air with his axe flaring with a large amount of red aura. “Mountain cleaver!” Leonard yelled as his axe slammed into the ground, creating fissures that consumed their enemies.
“Unnecessary grandstanding,” Alexander commented as he created a pillar of flames that reduced his enemies to ashes. “Focus on dea-” Alexander was cut off when he felt a surge of power and raised his sword just in time to block a swing from a staff.
The force of the attack managed to send him flying back, but he managed to reduce the distance by firing fire magic behind him. Turning to his attacker, Alexander saw the tribesman that was seating in the throne facing him in a stance.
“You hit hard,” Alexander commented before charging, shrouded in purple aura.
The tribe chief slammed the end of his staff on the ground, causing an earthquake.
“The fuck?” Leonard reacted in confusion as he kept his balance.
The ground beneath the chief began to raise, revealing a giant tortoise as the dust fell of its shell.
“Oh?” Alexander grinned as he took out to cores and tossed it behind him.
Havilish and the Frost Ankylo materialized behind him.
“Where the fuck did you get those?” Leonard looked at his creatures in shock.
“I’ll take you there when we have time,” Alexander said before raising his sword towards the chief. “Havilish, deal with the rodents.”
Havilish dashed towards the remaining tribesmen and began slaughtering them.
“I’m not just going to watch!” Leonard called out a creature as well.
A rhinoceros with jade-like armor covering its body materialized beside him.
The giant turtle roared. The ground raised and moved towards them like a giant wave, making Alexander and Leonard jump away while their creatures stood their ground. Alexander on top of a hut before storing his sword in his sub-space and taking out a bow.
Red aura flared around Alexander as he drew back an arrow. The arrow was fired and soared through the air at an amazing speed, but chief easily caught the arrow with his bare hands. The chief smirked at Alexander, as if challenging him.
“Oh?” Alexander’s eyes twitched.
Leonard charged on top of his rhino. “RAAHHH!”
The rhino crashed into the tortoise’s side, but barely made it flinched. Leonard was about to swing his axe when the chief slammed his staff on his hand, causing Leonard to drop his axe. Then the chief slammed the tip of his staff on the rhino’s head before using it like a pole to raise his body and used both feet to kick Leonard in the chest.
Alexander drew back another arrow, but this time the arrow turned into a giant flaming spear. “Hold it down!”
A glacier of ice froze the tortoise’s legs and made the chief hop to the top of its shell to not get caught by the ice. The arrow was released and soared towards the chief. It shot through the chief’s soldier, tearing off his right arm.
The chief wailed in pain and tried to run away, but Leonard grabbed his left leg.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Leonard asked with a sadistic grin.
The chief turned to where Alexander was.
“Such a shame,” Alexander said as another arrow was fired.
The chief’s head exploded as the arrow shot through it.
