Tiarraluna started out as a 2 chapter throwaway character. She was originally supposed to be Rosaluna's granddaughter. As the old woman got older, Tiarraluna's relationship got farther away. It was only within the last month or so that I realized that she couldn't possibly be Rosaluna's granddaughter AND fall within the standard anime magical girl age envelope. Also, her family tree changed a little. She was originally the old woman's daughter's daughter. But, then, why does she have the same last name? Mund, although I haven't laid it out in print yet, follows patriarchal naming conventions. So Rosaluna's daughter became her son Via retcon.
Her precise manner of speech came later as well. Originally she used contractions same as everybody else, but it came to me that Tiarraluna takes herself very seriously, and so, bye bye contractions. This is also reflected in the way she sometimes treats Jack. And the way she reacts to the way he sometimes reacts to her doing it.
Originally, she was sort of a generic enchantress/mage character, with no specializations. I didn't give her a rank or any specific history. Why bother?
As she grew, she became a little more naive, to comport with the way her grandmother coddles her. While the old woman taught her the craft, and very well, at that, she was already well past the age of adventuring. Heatherton, where Tiarraluna's first guild is located, is in another low danger zone, but well removed from the Hero's Glade.

Tiarraluna's experience became doing the more mundane tasks of a magic user you'd see in a shojo anime, catering to girls and younger women. That is to say, much less combat oriented, much more slice of life in a magical world. Hence her reaction to the sudden appearance of the teufeljaegers, and her subsequent horror at the more gruesome elements of her world. But it's also the reason she knows more healing than the average non priest archetype.
She's finally coming into her own, I think, as the story of book 1 concludes. The way she lays into Jack for his moping shows (I hope) that she's turned a corner and is finally getting around to realizing her role of being his grounding rod, and is beginning to apply it. In her own way, of course.
Seeing the trouble he gets into as a result of not listening to her caution was no doubt a catalyst. Look for more friction, though, as they reach an equilibrium. She still has a lot to learn about the 'real world,' and is likely to be overcautious for a good long while to come.
She has strong feelings for Jack, and they're growing stronger as her character develops. But whether they come to fruition or not remains to be seen.
